I feel like I don't give exhaustion whump enough credit.
Whumpees still awake and aware of their surroundings, but can't do anything about it. They could be drained from lack of sleep, fighting back too hard for too long, running for hours and are in danger if they stop.
When they finally get to rest, they don't move at all; not even to adjust if they've crumbled to a heap on the floor
Whumpee crawled under the ledge as silently as the leaves would allow, holding a hand over their lips in an attempt to silence their panicked breaths. They heard heavy bootsteps roaming above them, the hunter whistling a slow cheery tune.
They felt like they were suffocating, each shallow breath was never enough. They glanced up, seeing a blur of the hunter standing above them through the cracks of the roots. They watched in silent horror as they moved away, their whistling fading into the distance.
The anticipation and fear kept them grounded for longer then they should have stayed. Slowly, they crept out, finding no signs of the hunter as they took a shaky sigh of relief. They brushed the dirt and leaves off, hearing a faint *click* come from the trees above them. They froze, their eyes widening as they looked up just in time to spot the figure high in the tree.
*SNAP*
They jolted when a pricking pain struck, a long red tinted dart piecing their shoulder. They quickly yanked it out, throwing it to the ground as they bolted up the hill. Their every footstep pounded in their ears louder and louder, their vision blurred into warped distortion.
Were... were they on their knees? How... How did that happen? When did that happen?
They struggled to stand, their hands and knees feeling numbing as they stared at the ground. The dirt swirled into shapes in grain, each leaf lost its detail. A sharp kick to their side doubled them over, seeing a pair of dark boots standing over them. A hand settled on their forehead, brushing the hair from their face as the hunter admired their prize.
How you doing? I must admit you've been killing it these past few days 👏👏👏
Also I have this crazy idea this time, I'm thinking of whump and paranormal stuff 😈 .
Maybe a haunted house, or a ouija session that went wrong...whatever u like .
Just wanna see the fear, the unknown sounds, nose bleeds...
By this point I really don't know what on earth I'm thinking, but just bear w/ me , I love your writing 🥺
Hello awesome Anon! I'm doing quite well, thank you! And oho you are speaking to an experienced Phasmophobia player. (if anyone knows what that is)
CW: paranoia whump, migraines/passing out, haunted house
"This!? This is where we're staying for the weekend!?" Whumpee shrieked, gesturing to the old rundown building.
"Yep!" Caretaker chirped, the smile across their face said nothing but 'mistakes were made'.
"... Was it on sale?"
"... Yep..."
"Oh for goodness sake, Caretaker." Whumpee rasped. "Hey, it was a good deal! And besides, It's just for the weekend. I bet it's a lot nicer inside!"
It was not nicer inside.
In fact, it was worse. The ceiling had holes, the walls looked like they were painted with coffee stains and empty bottles littered the floor.
Whumpee gave Caretaker a 'I told you so' face.
"A weekend! We can survive here for a weekend! I'm going to set our room up, so gimmie your bags and see if you can... get the stove on?" They cringed seeing the kitchen wasn't much better. Whumpee sighed with a nod as Caretaker headed upstairs, having to jump over broken rails that had collapsed.
"Oh dear..." Caretaker muttered, finding the bedroom practically unusable. One of the walls had a large stain that looked too similar to blood. "Hey Whumpee?!" Caretaker called.
A pit in their stomach grew when they didn’t get an answer, their steps growing more frantic with each moment of silence. Their heart stopped when they found Whumpee lying motionlessly on the kitchen floor.
"Whumpee!" Caretaker cried, falling to their side as they turned them on their back. They saw their face sweating and their brow furrowed, groaning as they turned their head away. "Hey, stay with me." Caretaker muttered, taking their arm and hoisting them to a chair by the window.
They tried to crack it open, but it was jammed tight. "Come on..." They grunted, pulling until their fingers started to hurt.
*CRASH*
They gasped as they jumped back, watching the window completely shatter without reason.
"...mm.." Whumpee mumbled, seemingly unaffected by the noise.
"Hey! Are you okay?" Caretaker rasped, crouching down next to them while feeling their head sweltering. "..hng... headache..." Whumpee groaned, leaning their face into the cold touch of Caretaker's palm.
The lights started flickering as Caretaker gasped, nervously pulling Whumpee's arm over their shoulder as they helped them to their feet. "Come on, let's just leave..." Caretaker coaxed, helping them to the front door.
*SLAM*
The door slammed shut, causing a wind to blow their hair back. “What?” Caretaker gasped, jostling the handle as it stayed locked. A shiver ran up their spine as they held Whumpee protectively, turning around and pulling them back to the broken window. “Hang on to me.” Caretaker ushered, tucking an arm under their knees and lifting them through the window. They crawled through themselves just in time as Whumpee’s knees collapsed as they fell against Caretaker’s shoulder.
They lifted them back into their arms, carrying them to the car and setting them in the front seat. Whumpee’s eyes slowly blinked back open, dazed and confused. “Wh-.. What happened?” Whumpee mumbled, pressing their fingers to the bridge of their nose.
“You don’t remember?” Caretaker asked, feeling their forehead to find their fever gone. “D-don't worry about it. Let's just find you someplace to rest.” Caretaker soothed.
“Ahh wait wait wait, I’M picking the place tonight!” Whumpee barked.
“Okay! Okay fine! Whatever you want.” Caretaker raised their hands submissively. In reality, they were just overjoyed Whumpee was seemingly okay.
They glanced back at the house, seeing the lights in the bedroom flickering on and off with a faint silhouette in the window.
Hope you doing good, anyways, this time I'm just longing for something light and hella fluffy, so can you please write me something about iron deficiency?!! ( a severe Iron deficiency 😈 ) .
Also bonus points if whumpee is just reckless and stubborn.
Hello awesome anon! Perfect timing, I've been wanting to write some fluff lately! (Update: I now know about iron deficiency)
Whumpee was desperate to be discharged from the hospital, the medical tools and doctors poking and prodding only made them more distressed after their rescue. They had some bumps here and there, but the thing worrying Caretaker the most is how malnourished they became, so much so that they demanded Whumpee come home with them so they could watch over them.
"Here you are." Caretaker smiled as they set a plate in front of them, tenderly brushing their hair back to get their attention. “Th-thank you, but I’m not sure if I can eat right now...” Whumpee gave them an apologetic look.
“Whumpee, you hardly ate at the hospital! Just try a few bites, okay? Please?” Caretaker begged. Whumpee nervously glanced down at the meal, their favorite meal that only caused nausea in their stomach just looking at it. Their head instantly stuck with dizziness as their head fell forward as they pinched the bridge of their nose with a groan.
“Headache?’’ Caretaker asked, reaching over to feel their forehead for a fever. “mm... Mmhm. small one.” Whumpee rasped.
Caretaker took a cup along with Whumpee’s hand, guiding so they didn’t spill with their shaking hands. “Easy, take it slow. Do you want any pain reliever?” They asked. “I’m okay... just a little... Dizzy-” Their eyes rolled closed as they slumped to the side, falling from their seat as Caretaker was already diving underneath them, catching them right against their chest. Whumpee’s arm and chin fell over their shoulder, their head falling against Caretaker’s neck.
Caretaker wrapped an arm around Whumpee’s back to pull them up higher against their chest. “Woah woah woah! Hang in there, I’ve got you.” Caretaker whispered, tucking an arm underneath their knees as they lifted them over to the couch. They gathered as many pillows as they could, keeping Whumpee's head up so they could still swallow.
“Open.” Caretaker instructed, waiting for Whumpee’s lips to open, but they just laid silently with their eyes half open. Caretaker sighed as they took their chin, pushing their jaw open as they tried to get them to swallow a pill down.
“Poor thing...” Caretaker brushed their hair back, checking their pulse as they felt their head rapidly beating.
Caretaker stayed by their side for hours, every time they came around Caretaker would give them a sip of water and a bite of something to eat until they fell back asleep.
Could you write a drabble where whumpee passes out after using too much of their power to save caretaker and the last thing they see and hear is caretaker catching them and whispering comforting words to them, then they wake up sometime later to see the caretaker dabbing their forehead with a wet washcloth and comforting them through the confusion and dizziness.
"NO! No no no no NO!" Whumpee screamed, their knees hitting the ground as their trembling hands pressed into Caretaker's wound. They hyperventilated as their body was shot full of adrenaline, large tears dropping down their cheeks as they sobbed. Whumpee gasped when they felt Caretaker's hand curl around their wrists. "Wh- ckk... Whumpee... d-don-t" Caretaker choked, blood dripping down their chin.
"I- I -I have to!" Whumpee sobbed, pulling their wrist out of Caretaker's grasp as they focused back at the wound... They haven't done this in a while, and quite frankly, they were scared to. Healing something this grave would take a price. A price Whumpee could hardly pay.
But they would pay regardless.
They felt what was like their life drained from them, their soul, their energy, everything. A faint glow dwindled on their fingertips as Caretaker's wound visibly reformed.
Caretaker groaned as they blinked their eyes open, the sharp burning pain had seemingly left them in an instant. Whumpee knelt beside them, sweat pouring down their face, their eyes dim and half closed while they dangerously swayed. "Wh- Whumpee, what did you do?" Caretaker's eyes widened.
Whumpee's just responded with a weak smile before tilting, collapsing right into Caretaker's chest who caught them in their arms.
"Whumpee no! No... Hang on! Just... Just stay with me!" Caretaker cried, squeezing them as they felt how hot their temperature was. They quickly gathered them in their arms, lifting them despite their body still instinctively trying to panic from the hidden wound.
-
A loud ring burst through Whumpee's ears. They winced as they cringed their head to the side to escape it, their body feeling like it was boiling. Their breath shuttered when a cold cloth touched to their cheek as they leaned into it with a groan.
"Hey." They heard a whisper. Whumpee forced their eyes open, but their vision was far to blurry to make anything out. They blinked a couple of times until they found Caretaker's tear-soaked face smiling down at them, huffing both a laugh and cry with relief.
"Whumpee, I love you but you're an idiot." Caretaker laughed through a sob as they brushed Whumpee's damp hair back. "Don't ever to that again, okay? I can’t lose you." Caretaker whispered, nudging their cheek in the palm of Whumpee's hand.
"I c-can’t lose you ei-either." Whumpee rasped with a smile.
