That's it! All done & dusted ~ open studios is finished (for me - it is still on for other artists today so do get along to visit them). Thank you so much to all the gorgeous people who visited me over the fortnight ~ just shy of 400 beautiful art appreciating souls came through.🙏🙏 Including some well known artists in our region & beyond who I greatly admire ~ @ianmutch , @leonpericles , @hayleykrugerartist , @libby_jean_muhling_art , Emma Skinner (@yallingupgalleries ) @aidanleesmith , @deborahcullenart to name a few! 😍🙌❤️ (sorry if I missed anyone, my brain is jelly now!). Some fabulous conversations were had and much inspiration shared ❤ ❤ So very grateful to all of the organisers who plan, organise, execute, market and make @margaretriverregionopenstudios the truly wonderful event that it is. I am closed today for open studios but back open tomorrow & Saturday ~ so far, people visiting have been crushing on the following pieces ❤️ As an artist, who usually has a quiet inner dialogue about their own work (not always positive ~ we can be tremendously hard ourselves with our inner critic), it is lovely to be able to talk about our work and obtain feedback from many objective eyes and hearts. Open studios can consolidate & affirm for the artist, what direction their work is going in and plans for future work. At the same time, visitors find themselves opened up and moved by a painting, feeling joy, love, loss, hope, happiness & gratitude, or if an artist themselves...inspired or charged with a fire in their belly to go home & rip out a fresh canvas to start creating again! The blessing of art/art appreciation, is very much circular and continuous as we pass the inspiration gift to each other. It’s Day 6 of my #fffsinfortyartchallenge and this girl is now a work in progress.
