yknow, fuck it. 28 and 16 for buckbobby?
“Make me.”
“I don’t want to hear your excuses anymore.”
(s1 because OF COURSE)
"My office, now," Bobby snaps when they get out of the engine.
Buck shoots a wounded expression at Hen and Chimney when they "ooh" like kids quietly, and he follows Bobby through the doors.
"You already know what I'm going to say," Bobby says, rounding on him. "And I don't want to hear your excuses anymore. You can't run off half-cocked--"
"I wasn't!" Buck protests. "Bronson said--"
"Bronson is one disciplinary hearing away from losing his job, you never follow orders from another house unless they outrank me. You could've died in there!" Bobby's voice is raised but not quite yelling, but Buck still winces. "I'm going to do everything I can every shift to make sure you make it back here safely. So don't think I'm mad because you didn't follow my orders, I'm mad because you were in serious danger."
Buck blinks back the hot tears that threaten to cloud his vision. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean t-to worry you. Or make you mad."
"You're mine to worry about, Buck," Bobby says, squeezing his shoulder until Buck meets his eyes. "I'm sorry. You didn't deserve all of that. Bronson, on the other hand, is going to end up with his ass dragged over the coals. He doesn't get to put you in danger and get away with it."
He hates the idea of going out on a call with the 115 again and having angry glares shot his way. "You don't have t--"
"His job isn't worth more than your life. Nothing is," Bobby says so firmly that Buck kind of believes him.
It's weird, but no one outside Maddie's ever really said something like that to him. And she doesn't talk to him anymore.
Buck feels like an idiot for letting a tear fall and moves to quickly wipe it away. "Sorry, I--"
"You're okay," Bobby says, squeezing his shoulder again. "Stay right there. I need to make a call."
So Buck stands there and listens to Bobby call the 115 captain and the chief. He listens to him flip out for a moment when it sounds like Captain Summers is trying to dismiss what happened as Buck being too inexperienced for the situation. The stuff that Bobby says about Buck being exemplary makes him flush and stare at the floor.
By the time the second call is wrapped up, Bronson is on suspension pending further review, and Buck feels like he's going to tremble out of his skin.
"You want to help me with dinner?" Bobby asks, and Buck nods. "You're doing onions. That's your punishment for this whole thing, alright?"
Buck smiles, nodding when Bobby smiles back. "Okay. I-I think I can handle that."
On impulse, he hugs Bobby, and Bobby hugs him back after a split second. Buck shudders at the feeling, sinks into it. When he starts to pull back, it's really only to lift his head, and he realizes their faces are really close together. And he does something that'll probably get him kicked to another house and kisses Bobby.
He expects to get shoved away or hit, but Bobby freezes and then kisses him back. Buck makes a soft noise at the back of his throat before Bobby breaks the kiss.
"I shouldn't have done that," Bobby whispers. "You're my subordinate."
"But that's the only reason, right?" Buck asks.
"Don't fish for compliments, it's tacky," Bobby chides, and Buck grins. "But yeah, that's the primary one. The rest are my own shit, nothing to do with you. So don't take it personally when I say we can never do that again."
Buck nods, pecks him on the lips, and steps back. "I'll, uh, go start dinner."
The rest of the shift isn't terrible. After getting a pretty crazy amount of mud all over himself, Buck has to take a shower while Bobby takes them off calls for a while. While he's showering, he hears the next stall over turn on and pokes his head out. Bobby had also gotten a faceful of mud thanks to the wall of the overturned trailer that had come down and hit the ground at the exact right angle to cover Buck. Sure enough, he sees his boots next to the pile of clothes on the ground.
"Bobby?" he says, and there's no reply. For a moment, Buck worries that he somehow slipped without Buck hearing, so he darts out and opens the curtain.
Bobby whips around, and Buck realizes he probably just had his head under the spray and didn't hear him.
Except now he's standing about a foot and a half from a naked Bobby Nash, and Buck just...stares.
"Go back to your cubicle," Bobby says, wiping the water from his face with his hand.
Instead, Buck steps inside. "I thought something was wrong."
"Something's wrong now," Bobby says pointedly, but then his eyes sweep up and down. It's fast, but it's there.
Buck keeps thinking about kissing him. "Bobby--"
"Buck," he says, his hand curling over Buck's cheek. "This? Can't happen. You need to go."
Buck licks his lips, steps closer. "Make me."
He gets pressed against the wall by Bobby again, but it's not angry this time. Which, yeah, that had definitely brought up some feelings Buck hadn't looked at too closely at the time. Now? He's thinking it might not have been a fear boner that he'd had.
Bobby kisses him, and Buck wraps a leg around his hip, wonders if he's maybe into guys because the feeling of Bobby getting hard against him is doing a lot for him.
"Turn around," Bobby says against his mouth, and Buck does as he's told. "Oh, now he listens."
Bobby rubs his dick against the crack of Buck's ass, and Buck sticks his ass out a little, bites his lip to keep himself quiet at the feeling of Bobby slipping against his hole and the back of his balls. A hand comes up to cover his mouth, the other wraps around his cock.
"That's it," Bobby whispers as Buck tips his head back against his shoulder and loses himself in the entire feeling. "Good boy, just let me take care of you."
That sends something tingly down Buck's spine, and he pants against Bobby's hand.
When he cums, he tries to keep it quiet. Bobby is so silent that Buck wouldn't know how he felt if it wasn't for the fact that he's fucking his cock between Buck's ass and thighs. When he stiffens against Buck's back and cums against his inner thigh, he turns Buck around and kisses him again.
"That's never happening again, okay?" Bobby murmurs, and Buck hesitates before nodding. "I can't lose you to another house, you understand?"
Buck nods again. "I understand."
"You're beautiful and sweet and going to make someone very happy one day," he says with a smile. "But it can't be me. Not like that. Even if it sounds really, really nice."
"Okay," Buck says with a small smile. "One for the road?"
Bobby kisses him, hugs him under the warm spray of water, and sends him back to his own shower.
They find Hen and Chimney slumped over the leftover bowl of spaghetti, and Chimney blinks blearily at them.
"Thought you guys drowned," he mumbles.
"And yet here you are, eating cold spaghetti instead of mounting a rescue," Bobby says, shaking his head. "C'mon, hand it over."
He reheats the whole thing, and they sit and eat together while Hen makes them laugh while he tells them what Buck getting spattered with mud looked like from her perspective.
Under the table, Buck briefly hooks his ankle with Bobby's before going back to his food.
get your shit together chim 🙄

Chapter 5 - So Far (A Buck Begins Coda) - Unconditional I (Lookout Kid) on AO3
Healing Hugs
Yeah sure that works as a title- But I wrote this genuinely ten minute snippet for @icyfox17 So yeah!! They wanted me to post it on here so you all get this okay okay-
"Buck you alright?" Bobby asks as Buck lifts his head to look at his captain. He considers lying, considers just forcing a grin onto his face and saying that yeah he's okay, but between his already tear-stained face and the mood he's in, he decides not to.
"...No." Buck says, and it comes out a lot quieter than he means it to. Bobby just looks at him with soft eyes and a gentle expression that makes Buck want to tear up even more, because why couldn't his parents just ever act like this just once in his life without him having to get injured to achieve it. He knows why now, having the Daniel of it all explained to him by Maddie, but that doesn't mean he isn't allowed to mourn about the parental affection he could've had in another life.
"Do you want a hug Kid?" Bobby asks and Buck doesn't hesitate in his reply.
"Yes please." is all it takes before Buck is pulled into a hug that's not too tight but tight enough to where it's grounding. It's safe and warm and a perfect place to let The tears continue to roll without judgement because Bobby wouldn't judge him for something like this. For dumb shit on calls, absolutely, but never when Buck genuinely needs comfort, which is most definitely what he needs now and luckily his pseudo-father figure always knows how to provide it.
So if you guys like that you guys should probably check out some of my other writing as well okay okay-
my parents are all alive.
