Odd Comic Facts (Lex Luthor's Robot Hand and the Kryptonite Ring)
Hey, any of you casual comic fans know about that kryptonite ring that Superman gave Batman in case of emergencies? That thing that was a major sign of trust? Ever wonder where it came from, or why it was a ring?
The answer is: Lex Luthor.
In Superman (1987)/Volume 2 #2 (February 1987), Lex had taken the kryptonite heart out of Metallo, broke off a chunk, and had that chunk made into a signet ring (that's a ring you use to press seals into wax) as a weapon against Superman.
However, about a year later in real time, in Action Comics (1938)/Volume 1 #600 (May 1988), this plan was revealed to be a bad idea. Before Crisis on Infinite Earths, kryptonite couldn't hurt Earthlings at all. However, with Crisis, the company changed the rules. Now, kryptonite radiation could hurt us just as much as Clark. It just took a long time for it to happen.
The ring is what gave Lex his kryptonite cancer (watchers of the 2001 Justice League cartoon may remember that plot point). In the comics, Lex had to have his right hand amputated. So, yes, starting in the late 1980s, Lex Luthor's right hand was a mechanical prosthetic. Lex Luthor is a cyborg.

In Marvel comics, Deadpool is far from the only character to break the fourth wall. And he wasn’t the first. She-Hulk, aka Jennifer Walters, the lawyer cousin of Bruce Banner that premiered in 1980, was the first. And in her second series, The Sensational She-Hunk, it was her thing. Commenting constantly on the writing of the comic, her own objectification, as well as marvels fan-base, she was one to often (literally) peel back the layers of her own pages. Practically every cover of The Sensational She-Hulk was a fourth-wall break, and funny ones at that.
In case you needed confirmation that Jason’s Bowery accent is canon.
In Batman Incorporated, Damian recognizes Jason as Wingman by his accent. So all of you headcanoning Jason has a Bowery/Crime Alley accent, you’ve been validated!
