this feels like a parody than an actual comic? i initially refused to believe "nothing butt nightwing" was a legitimate title of a comic that dc chose to publish?

okay, babs is disabled and oracle again, great! but man do i have so many issues with how ridiculously comical this story is.

a character struggling with defining who they really are outside of their image? it's an amazing character arc to explore, especially with the added tension of said character's relationships being affected by their inability to be authentic. but i personally don't think dick is the character for this; he is quite personable even as a superhero, and he has a rich life in and out of the suit! i can imagine him having some issues here and there, but not to the extent that he has no hobbies...? what do you mean he has no hobbies?

but sure, if you wanna reverse character growth and retell stories from scratch, go ahead i guess, i guess comics do have a cyclic nature of sort and i guess these new webtoons are being published to pique new fans' interest, sure. if you wanna have dick grayson become a model, go aheadddd.

but i honestly find it cringe when dc themselves make jokes about dick's ass, especially when it's so on the nose and not at all subtle or comedic. and it kinda feels tone deaf to me when dc also has written stories of dick getting sa'ed, where more often than not, his sa was not written with care and played up as jokes or his fault.

again, why the hell would you even name a comic that. it's not funny. you're not subverting anything or doing clever wordplay. it sounds like a weird typo that a twelve year old teenage boy would make fun of.

After everything that's happened, I think Peter and MJ should just be friends and remain single for about two years. Cause they need friends, they need something other than romance drama. I love romance drama, but it's clear the writers don't know what to do with these relationships so I propose we hit the brakes for a while.

Also give them lesbian friends. Peter having a butch lesbian friend would be hilarious and give Peter more than just hot women who he kisses. Just for a while.

Lately I’ve seen people kinda complaining about how DC made Nightwing a literal human weapon and then just went “but he smiley himbo!” but honestly I think that’s one of my favorite parts about him. Because he’s not dumb, he knows EXACTLY what he is, and what he is capable of. He just chose the best way to not let that destroy him. This man’s entire existence is basically trauma and he chose to be something better, something brighter, and I think that’s absolutely amazing

Re-reading Jim comics and my God does Marvel Age 1000 sucks ass.

Like never mind the fact that Horton actually called Jim his Adam because man had a fucking God complex (hence Adam II), but like the artist seems to have forgotten that the story was set in 1939 almost IMMEDIATELY.

Like fucking hell, I know my standards for Marvel are low but they should at least be able to keep a consistent era for 10 pages. I don't fucking care.

Because by time Jim leaves Horton, he's entering a police station in 2024. And I know it's MEANT to be 1939 because they literally open by stating the year.

It drives me insane that the art deco aspects that the animated series had isn't utilized enough.

Better yet, that they keep making it 'modern' when we could have a period piece!! Let each character represent the era that they came from!

That's why I love the Blue Beetle storyline. It allowed a hero to live and die! There's a beginning, middle, and end. Most (if not all) super heroes struggle to grow nowadays is because they've been stretched thin. It works for some, but I'm tired of reading something that doesn't lead anywhere.

With multiverses, varying storylines from different writers, nothing feels concrete. I have no emotional investments due to the fact IT DOESN'T MATTER.

I'm not saying we need new heroes to take over the comic scene (we do, we really do), but there has to be a sense of NEWness even if you have to revert to the old.

i will never get over the amount of people who just hate female characters in comics and movies for no fucking reason. like it's not their fault they're undeveloped in the writing because they don't get the same attention as men.

i get so goddamn pissed whenever people talk about loving Gambit but hating Rogue because she's "boring" when 1) they've never read her comics 2) they don't know ANYTHIGN ABOUT HER other than her being a love interest for Gambit.

Rogue is one of my favourite Marvel characters if not my ABSOLUTE favourite. And if you ONLY know her from the Gambit comics, then you're doing yourself a disservice. She can come across as whiney in a lot of those because "woe is me we can't touch and can't be intimate" wah wah wah. Like it isn't her fault a straight man wrote most of their romance stories. jesus.

I really hate the Robin War story, Gordon is completely out of character and they’re doing it again but at Marvel with this Kamala's Law shit. I read the first issue of this Outlawed and same thing with Captain America, a man who fought a law on the registration of superheroes supporting this one on registering young superheroes.
