we hosted an event at the local community centre which was supposed to mark the very long awaited closing of a chapter for my partner. unfortunately, things didn’t pan out (biggest understatement of life, but choosing not to go into it here), so instead we hosted a “community resilience” celebration and potlucked, mingled, and played with the best of ‘em.

Safety net

The space was big. Far bigger than I expected. Industrial, almost. A smooth expanse of polished concrete. Blank white walls reaching up 20 metres to a ceiling hung with a steel grid of professional track lighting. This space was The Temp, dedicated for the next few months to the happenings of an amazing group of campus activists at the uni near to where I live.
