Companions React: You bring back deathclaw and explain you'll raise it

Cait

"I knew you were not mentally okay when you barged into the combat zone!" * Cait cares about you, but she isn't going to entertain stupid ideas. I mean, because she cares about you, she will make sure that you don't end up doing stupid stuff. That's the least she can do for you.

Codsworth

"Sir/Mum... Be careful!" * Codsworth would try to reason with you as much as possible. I mean, come on, are you seriously trying to raise a deathclaw? That's insanity, I'm sure you understand that too! If he wouldn't be able to convince you to kill it or bring it back home, he would make sure to keep an eye on you, in case it attacks.

Curie

"Oh my, madam! What a curious specimen!" * Curie would be initially scared, but after you would assure her, she would end up being more than happy to use this to study a deathclaw from close up. I mean, when else was she going to get a chance to do that again?

Paladin Danse

"Soldier! I order you to kill that thing!" * Danse would be more than reluctant to keep the deathclaw near you or him. Not only are you putting yourself in danger, but also putting everyone else in danger too. What if the parents come searching for the baby? He won't let that happen.

Deacon

"Oh.. My... God!" * Deacon is excited, to say the least. Finally, he would be able to get his own personal deathclaw pet! To say the least, he will call the deathclaw "Fluffy". He will help out raising the deathclaw and will act like a parent, for sure.

John Hancock

"You sure you're not on psycho?" * Either you're on drugs, or he's hallucinating, right? I mean, nobody in their right mind would go ahead and do this, right? To say the least, he wouldn't be all that happy, but he wouldn't dare come near the beast or argue with you.

Robert MacCready

"That... Is both scary and fuc-freaking awesome!" * Maccready would be scared shitless at the beginning, ready to kill the deathclaw on sight, but after seeing how tame it is towards you, he would get excited. With a deathclaw on your side, the two of you will be invincible!

Nick Valentine

"Young people... Sure are daring people." * Nick would feel cautious, but also would trust your judgment. Sure, he didn't understand everything that you did most of the time, but you had never failed him before, so he'll choose to trust your judgment this time around too.

Piper Wright

"This is going to be an awesome article!" * Piper has always been interested in deathclaws, she never knew that they come to be tamed! She would question you and write an article about this. I mean, it would be a missed opportunity not to write an article about this.

Preston Garvey

"General... I... I'll put my trust in your judgment." * Preston trusts you, yet he is currently fighting his own fear of the deathclaw. You have never led him or the minutemen astray, but there is always a first time, right? Hopefully you know what you are doing.

Strong

"Strong like Deathclaw meat." * Strong doesn't understand what other purpose the deathclaw might have. He believes you are trying to fatten it up and then eat it. He feels pretty excited and hopes you will share the meal with him.

X6-88

"sir/ma'am, I see you have lapses of judgment too." * X6 wouldn't comment much more. Simple, if the need arises, he will start fighting back and kill the beast, but until then, he will simply entertain the director and not question your actions.

Old Longfellow

"Young people. Never will understand them." * Longfellow is honestly too old to care about this. As long as that thing doesn't attack or kill anyone, he won't really care. Just make sure to keep it tame, otherwise, Longfellow might try and kill "Fluffy."

Porter Gage

"That's... Pretty hardcore, boss" * Gage is honestly impressed. He had never heard or seen any other raider gang taming or bringing a deathclaw back home. And here you where, with a deathclaw, ready to take over the world. He chose right, letting you become the new overboss.

So how would Fallout 4 companions and faction leaders (nuka world included) react to nearly getting trapped in a fire fight, then suddenly a British man comes in and shoots all the enemies down effortlessly.

When they ask who then man is, they simply state that they’re well acquainted with SS.

Here's the deal:

It's tuesday. No one really wants to do anything, but saving the Commonwealth isn't a job you can just put off until the weekend. A massive joint force, Talon Company + Gunners, is teaming up to hit Diamond City. Without DC, the Institute would have no one to broadcast their propaganda, the Brotherhood would have nowhere to resupply, the Railroad would have no one to recruit, and the Minutemen...well they just like helping. And the Nuka World raiders wouldn't have anyone to enslave/exploit, so they begrudgingly decide to help aid the city.

The moment comes. It's 7 AM, and everyone is barely awake. A line is formed to direct the bad guys into an abandoned hotel, where the main fighting force is sitting on the second floor.

The Gunners and Talons arrive. They're steered into the collapsing hotel, plasma bolts melting the brave freedom fighters on the way in. They pour into the hotel, uncontrollably firing off into the crowd in the grand lobby. They storm in, but are taken down by the Nuka World raiders...until the gatling units show up.

All of a sudden, three, no, five, no, a dozen power-armored soldiers storm through the double doors, miniguns and RCW's in hand. They quickly plow through the raiders, taking down wave after wave of expendable bodies.

As if to rub salt in DC's proverbial wound, one more power-armored soldier bursts in, holding the most destructive weapon one man could wield: a pipe pistol MERV launcher. Tiny nukes crash down upon the second floor, collapsing the ceiling on those who weren't murdered in the explosions.

Huddled in the corner, the companions try to catch their collective breath, Stimpaks and Nuka Quantum flying into bodies and caved-in walls offering the illusion of protection from the remaining fighters.

The doors of the hotel swing open once more. In steps a sharply-dressed man, black tie quickly gathering dust from the nuclear explosion. The gunners and talons turn to face him, but they're already dead. With a slight grunt and a single bead of sweat, the man throws aside a large chunk of concrete under which the companions are stuck, blood from the dead talons beginning to run down his face. He helps the companions all up, and dusts off their outfits.

It's Cait who first turns to the man, then back at Nora, then back at the man. "Who the fock is that? Why didn't you tell me you had some insanely sexy man who can just take on ten thousand raiders like that??"

The man laughs, a bit taken aback by the compliment. It had been a while since anyone had called his shaggy-haired self 'sexy'.

"I assure you, I don't just pop out of nowhere. I was just a little late to this defense party, is all. Nora, good to see you, as always. How's young Shaun doing these days? The robot, I mean. Not the God cosplayer."

Nora shoots up from the ground, a smile quickly overtaking her face. "James! It's been far, far too long. I swear, you really do need to come from England more often. I know you say it's too far a trip for a lazy Sunday but I really think you should visit more often. Did you know that we actually just built a settlement on an island just for Feral Ghouls?"

Curie walks over and touches the man's face and torso, studying his physique and form.

"A rHeal British person. How fascinating."

James chuckles once again, his accent now giving away his place of origin. He bends down to help up Danse, crushed under a large bar of steel.

"On your feet, soldier. I believe there is still an invasion to repel. We are leaving."

Reaction: Breaking up with the companions

(Just want to put it out there: the next reaction will be Sole and companion getting back together)

Cait

The betrayal was real and damn did it hurt. Cait didn’t let people in, period, you were the exception because she truly believed you cared and would always be there for her so when you broke up with her so many different emotions went through her at once, she could barely handle it and keep herself together. Anger, at herself for being as stupid as to let someone in, and at you, for making her believe she could rely on you. Sadness, because once again she was alone. Disappointment, she truly thought she could start a new life with you. Understanding, she knew she could be a lot to handle. But above all she felt stupid. Even if you told her that you just didn’t love her that way but still cared about her as a friend, she would need time to come around to the idea. But she would in the end, because she’d rather have you around as a friend than not at all.

Curie

Curie would take the break up as an adult, the way it should be handled and she’d respect your decision, but depending on why you broke up with her, she might be really confused. See, for Curie it is unthinkable that a feeling as strong as love would suddenly just be gone. So if your reason for breaking up with her is that you just don’t feel that way towards her anymore, she’d have a really hard time grasping it and she’d try to think of other reasons you might want to break up, but she could really only think of one: did she perhaps do something wrong? It would take some time convincing her before she’d believe that that was honestly not the case and in the end she’d just have to take peace with the fact that people change.

Danse

Breaking up with Danse would absolutely break this man. Like his world came crumbling down a second time, only this time it was so much worse. The first time was when his true identity got discovered and he got kicked out of the Brotherhood. He thought that’d be the worst thing he’d ever go through in his life, and there was only one thing that kept him together. You. Now, you were gone as well and he had to deal with everything on his own, and he just wasn’t sure if he could. Actually no, he was pretty damn sure he could not.

Deacon

Deacon would pretend like it wasn’t a big deal at all. “Alright, it was fun while it lasted, back to amigos then?” But inside he was torn apart and now, more than ever before, it scared him how well you knew him. If you left the Railroad after breaking up with him, he’d stay in the Railroad but would get facial reconstruction surgery and take on a new identity. If you stayed in the Railroad however he’d often consider leaving. He didn’t think it was fair to leave everything he had achieved there behind, but being around you was too painful and scary because you knew too much about him.

Hancock

Hancock was very conflicted when you broke up with him. On the one hand he was sad, he loved you so much and he truly thought you were the one, but on the other hand it felt right, you deserved better than a ghoul after all. But he didn’t show you how he really felt, he took the news like a champ and continued to be really chill around you whenever you two met, though afterwards he’d confine himself to his bedroom inside the Old State House and experimented with chems to figure out which one was best at glueing together a broken heart. Spoilers: none of them.

MacCready

Would be visibly upset with you, though he’d hear out your reason(s) for breaking up with him and take peace with them. He wouldn’t be that guy to get angry with you for not wanting to be with him no more, he knew you couldn’t force those things, but that didn’t make it easier to cope with losing you. So Mac would tell you he didn’t want to be around you for the time being and took the first job as a hired gun that became available to him just to get away from you and the memories of your relationship.

Nick

Nick would be much like Hancock. He’d be sad, because he never even thought he’d find love, but you were everything he could ever want, but also relieved because sometimes he wondered if you were completely alright in the head. He knew you deserved better so he didn’t show you that breaking up with him hurt him. He didn’t want you to feel bad for him, if anything he felt foolish for even thinking this thing between you two could last.

Piper

Heartbroken, and she’d show it. You mean so much to her and she thought you and her were gonna go far. She’d question why you’d want to break up with her and would really want to know everything she could about how you felt. Did she do something that caused your feelings for her to change? How long had you been considering this break up? After hearing you out and accepting that you actually just don’t feel that way for her anymore, she’d tell you she needed time before she could be around you again and spent the following weeks or even months completely focused on Nat and her job.

Preston

Just shocked. He’d have so many questions, he didn’t know which one to ask first and it would result in just some gibberish coming out of his mouth. After composing himself he’d just ask you one thing. “Why?” Preston wouldn’t act annoying or difficult, he’d hear you out and kinda just accept it. Sure, he’d need some time and he’d use your position as general and his superior to create a barrier between the two of you.

Confused. He thought you two were doing alright. No explanation would really lift his confusion either. If you told him you had trouble dealing with his moral compass, he’d remember all the times he didn’t agree with moral choices you made. He didn’t break up with you for that. Should he have? Confusion! If you told him you just didn’t feel that way towards him anymore and just want to be friends, he’d start questioning whether what he felt for you was actually love or also just friendship. Confusion. His confusion would take up any space in him to feel anything else, so he’d never actually feel sad about the break up…

Arcade sat on a bench outside of the king's building, waiting for the courier to come out. The place reeked of pre-war cologne and hairspray. And rat. Lots of rat smell in the air. He pulled out an old prewar magazine and read it, holding the magazine in one hand and propping his upper weight on the bench with his other arm. He got absorbed into the old war texts, allowing himself to keep indulging as the courier came out and sat next to him.

It wasn’t until the tips of the courier's fingers touched Arcade's hands that he suddenly snapped out of the magazine and into reality. He felt his heart pumping for a moment, he glanced over. The courier's strong and worn body, now having the leftover smell of cologne. And the courier's natural scent of dust, sweat, and broken memories. He let his eyes linger for a moment too long and the courier spotted him, and Arcade quickly pretended to be absorbed into the magazine again holding the magazine up with both hands now.

“Whatcha reading Arcade?” The courier said, suddenly wrapping his arm around Aracde, resting his chin on Arcade's shoulder. Arcade suddenly felt strange, both wanting to jump out of his seat from nervousness and not wanting to move in case the moment should leave him. He did his best to stay calm.

“A prewar magazine, it has some interesting documentation of prewar medicine,” Arcade answered.

“Oh alright, I’ll read with you.” The courier kept his head resting on Arcades shoulder, and Arcade didn’t mind. And he pretended to suddenly be a particularly slow reader.

Headcanons for Fallout Companions of your choice having an SO with a shit ton of piercings? Like, do they think they look stunning? Idiotic? Are they mildly amused by how serious SO is about keeping them clean? Who is most likely to want one themself? I dunno, Im on a kick, I just need my piercing fill dammit!

Cait: At first, she’s reminded of the Raiders from the Combat Zone. I mean, when she meet’s Sole, she has no reason to think Sole isn’t just another breed of Raider. But they keep them clean and have a lot of pride in them? They’re really good at making sure they don’t get snagged or pulled? A romanced Cait is gonna playfully bite the piercings, especially if they’re in more sensitive areas. She’s gonna get kinky real quick.

Curie: Curiosity and hygiene are the first things that come to mind for her. She asks questions and grows more and more interested in body modification and the affects it has on the human body. She’ll ask Sole to help her pierce her ears at some point!! (idk my mental image is too cute)

Codsworth: He’s really more concerned about things getting infected than how they look. As long as Sole is keeping their piercings clean, he doesn’t mind. They’re sir/mum after all! He gets a little indignant if someone says something about it.

Danse: First impressions matter— he’s not impressed with Sole’s piercings at first. In fact, he’s tempted to add up the time Sole spends cleaning them to prove what a waste they are. Once Sole makes it clear that the piercings aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, he resigns himself to a handful of snippy comments every now and then. But, if you wiggle your way into his straight laced heart and romance him, he becomes incredibly interested in some well hidden piercings *eyebrow wiggle*

Deacon: He knows it’s not good for going undercover, but then again, Sole already made a name for him/herself, so that’s out of the question anyway. He’s constantly like “you know, I have a piercing” or “I’ve been thinking about getting my septum pierced, but how would I blow my nose?” It’s very likely that he’ll flick them as he walks by, especially if they’re dangly piercings.

MacCready: Like Cait, he’s more concerned that all that metal will get caught and be ripped out. He’s not opposed to it though, Sole is an adult and can make their own choices. There might be a ton of them, but they don’t look bad per se. If he’s romanced, he’ll admit that he loves Sole’s eyebrow piercing, but maybe that’s because he wants an excuse to stare at their face. (Let the trash baby kiss the piercings)

Nick: The old Nick kind of nags at the back of his mind, making him think Sole looks a little shady. But he kept his opinions to himself, after all, he’s been on the other end of that kind of judgment more than once, and they went through a lot of trouble to get him out of that Vault. He’s really glad he waited it out, because Sole has the capacity to be a wonderful person, and that’s what really matters.

Piper: She thinks it makes Sole look like they’re trying too hard. There’s a bit of judgment at first. During the course of her friendship with Sole, however, she kind of forgets that they’re there. But not before asking a ton of questions about them and worrying what sort of role model they’ll be for Nat. After traveling together, she feels stupid for worrying about it. Instant death glare at Sole when Nat asks to get her ears pierced.

Preston: Literally thought Sole was another Raider at first. But they cleared out Concord, they listened to his cry for help, they helped him when there was no clear incentive. He was humbled and ashamed that his gut reaction was to label Sole as an enemy before they proved otherwise. But can he really be blamed for that? If romanced, he’ll ask about them more and ask if he can help clean them. (try not to imagine Preston cleaning Sole’s piercings, and Sole shaving Preston’s face. It’s so domestic, I love it.)

Hancock: He doesn’t care. Okay, not it’s not that he doesn’t care at all but he’s not going to base his thoughts or feelings on anyone off that sort of thing. If Sole romances the raisin, he’ll see if there’s any special piercings/ any sort of sensitivity with them. His favorite are Sole’s back dimple piercings.

Gage: Yes. Good. The more the better. Sole has to get in good with the gangs and quick, this can only help. Not to mention it looks badass. Thinks it’s kind of silly when Sole cleans them with chemicals, like, that’s what hard liquor is for, boss. Is in love with Sole’s belly button piercing, but until Eye-Patch is romanced he will NEVER admit to it.

X6-88: No. Hard no. Oh hell no. What the fuck is that shit all over Sole? Why? What’s the purpose of it? It’s just going to get in the way. Sole’s just going to get hurt and he’ll be the one to deal with it. Ya’ll know this man, he’s going to say something about it at some point. Cue Sole sticking their tongue out at him. Okay, the tongue piercing is… something… nice?… it’s distracting… but heaven forbid that Sole asks him why, he’s not really sure himself.

Companions on the 4th of July

Heyyyy no one asked for this and I'm a day late but why not? Backstory: The minutemen are holding a firework show/ cookout at the castle to celebrate the holiday and everyone's invited! Cait: She loves seeing the exploding of the fireworks and wears a grin throughout the entire firework show. She threatens to throw a firecracker at Sole when they point out how cute it is that she's having so much fun. Codsworth: He finds the holiday nostalgic and it reminds him of the day when mum and sir and little Shaun sat and watched fireworks just like this. How reflects on how much things have changed since then and becomes emotional until Sole lets him do the honors of lighting off the fireworks. Curie: "Oh... Zis is beautiful!" She exclaims, her eyes full of awe as she watches the fireworks from her seat. She has never seen fireworks before this, and thinks they're absolutely perfect. For weeks afterwards she asks Sole many questions about how they work. Danse: He likes the concept of the holiday because of how patriotic it is. It reminds him of the amount of pride that the brotherhood has. Of course he's the one cooking out, wearing an apron that Sole insisted he put on over his power armor. He isn't sure what it says but everyone else is laughing at the large lettering that says "kiss the paladin". Deacon: No one can find him for the majority of the night, not even Sole, who's almost always able to point out the sunglasses-wearing trickster in disguise. When Sole opens up the first box of fireworks, Deacon jumps out wearing brightly colored body paint and yells, "BOOM!" Sole falls screams and falls back, and doesn't hear the end of it for weeks. Dogmeat: He's loving the whole event. People are throwing him snack cakes and bloatfly burgers left and right. By time the fireworks start he's stuffed and laying on Sole's lap, snoozing and having sweet dog dreams. Hancock: Of course he loves the 4th. He gives everyone a very extensive, very Chem-fueled version of the history of the American Revolution. When it gets dark he insists that he leads off the fireworks with a singing of the national anthem. He forgets some of the words in the middle but everyone loves it and he bows confidently at the end of the song, everyone applauding. Maccready: Much like dogmeat, Mac stuffs himself full of food during the event and he accidentally misses the fireworks because he falls asleep inside the castle. He pouts the next day. Nick: He helps danse with the food and smiles when he sees that everyone is enjoying their self. He sits next to Piper and Sole during the fireworks as he lights a cigarette and stares at the night sky in peace. Piper: She won't admit it, but fireworks kind of scare her. The noise just frightens her and she can't explain why, but she does a pretty decent job at hiding it. She sits next to Sole on a blanket as they watch, and when Sole sees that Piper jumps at every loud boom that goes off, they let her hold Sole's hand for comfort. Preston: He plans the get together and patrols the area while everyone enjoys the show. He's just happy knowing that Sole and the companions are having such a good time spending time with one another. He feels like the holiday really embodies the spirit of the minutemen. Strong: He hates fireworks and yells at Sole every time one goes off.
