The pavilion at @goingpicking is open as a warm community space on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-4pm every week. This is a safe, friendly and warm place for anyone who needs somewhere to hang out, do homework, meet and have a cup of tea. Company Drinks is opening up for a couple of hours a week, so that if anyone needs access to a nice, warm space for meeting, working, homework etc, they can come along and use the Club Room. This is a little like the council’s warm banks. If any of my group participants would like access please contact me. My slot is on Tuesday for anyone who might be in need of somewhere calm and cosy to hang out for a couple of hours a week. There will also be a little colouring in corner for kids and there will be tea and biscuits. From December there are plans to extend this offer, and to include hot meals and facilitated activities. @goingpicking and the Little Litter League headed out into Barking Park picking something a bit different this time, to help clean up our local green space. Rubbish in our parks and green spaces mounts up daily and is often cleared by local volunteer picking groups. We saw for ourselves just how littering affects the local wild and plant life. Our productivity levels have multiplied since we starting using this awesome creative space at @goingpicking The relaxed and chilled atmosphere has added great value to what we do. Today we completed numerous tasks… #bookbikelondon ✔️ #littlelitterleague ✔️ #dementiafriends ✔️ We were able to set up in preparation for our clean up at the Barking Tube Plant Activation Station and also prepped ahead of the next Dementia Friends session.
