Loving Summer Sky, just as the title suggests, is a love letter towards sky. Not only sky, but also photography, youth, and youthful love.

The artstyle is so calming and beautiful, it was the cherry on top. The use of colours, especially for the sky, the softly drawn lines...they tell us the story of four young people and the unusual bond that they form. Their perspective couldn’t be more different.

While one came to love the sky after an accident, another came to fear and hate it, and another had a whole cycle of love-hate relationship with the sky.

They loved each other in different ways. Their friendship might've faced threat because of their past or feelings, but ultimately it never fell apart. They held onto each other, pushed each other to grow...and to live.

(Spoilers below, do not proceed if you haven’t finished reading the webtoon but you plan on doing so)

The title has a fun twist to it. The Korean title is 'Saranghaneun Yeoreum Haneul'. These three words contain the names of the three girls who fell for Gihu - two as children, one as teen. Sarang Han's love towards Gihu was one-sided and never reciprocated, which led her to turn against Haneul. Gihu and Yeoreum had mutual feelings toward each other as children, however, Gihu's feelings were lost to amnesia. Gihu and Haneul met each other as children too, but they developed feelings towards each other as teens, and the knowledge of Yeoreum being Gihu's first love did not waver his love towards Haneul. Yeoreum and Haneul, unlike Sarang, did not hold malice towards each other. They became genuine friends despite the unrequited feelings, doubt and jealousy.

Like my another favourite webtoon Back to You/Just A Girl He Knows, this is another "Who says first love always have to come true?" story, and I love that.

Loving Summer Sky was such a beautiful depiction of youth, personal growth, friendship and teenage romance. Following through it for 61 weeks was so worth it.

This is another work of art I can talk about forever! I’ve reread this so many times and I will most definitely reread it again!

Under the Aegis may seem like a typical fantasy drama at first glance, but it is so much more than that. It tackles very real situations like stereotyping people on the basis of their nationality or race. It also presents compassion and understanding as a basis of world peace, which I know is quite obvious but the way it is written makes me want to believe that this could someday be possible. That humans could see beyond religion or nationality and see the person beneath all that. That kindness and compassion can help us understand one another enough to not want to hurt each other anymore.

Same-sex couples are also represented very nicely! And the ending is SO satisfying! It has an epilogue that is an instant serotonin boost! The art is also so pretty! And the couples are so cute <3

Favorite COMPLETED Romance Webtoons

Title: Hooky

Status: Completed (222 episodes)

Description: Witches, wizards, and cuteness galore. Fairy tales, ultimate ships, and lots of magic. Also, a flawless story with loveable characters and gorgeous artwork. Basically perfection.

Notes: I seriously respect MÍriam Bonastre for her work on this wonderful story. Hands down, my all-time favorite Webtoon. I geeked out about it in a separate post, so feel free...

Title: Refund High School (aka Return my School Life)

Status: Completed (135 episodes)

Description: Four kids who died in a traffic accident are given a chance to attend Refund High School and earn the life of their dreams.

Notes: For several months, I intended to read RFHS, but got distracted reading other things. When I saw that it was going on daily pass, I decide to trust the positive reviews and give it a try. I’m so so glad I did. This is such a beautiful Webtoon and my heart is so invested in it. I especially enjoyed watching the characters grow and feeling the romance shine through. Refund High School does have a ending, but the creator announced that a season 2 will come someday. Until then… this  comic is definitely etched into my heart.

Title: A Good Day to Be a Dog

Description: Hana is cursed to turn into a dog every night if she kisses a guy. To reverse the curse, she’d have to kiss him again. But what happens if the kiss was a drunken accident and the guy seems to hate her? Tough luck…

Notes: Such a beautiful Webtoon! I laughed and cried, but it was all worth it in the end. The couple is so cute!

Title: Super Secret

Status: Completed (141 episodes)

Description: Sleepy Emma and mother-hen Ryan have been best friends and neighbors their whole lives, but little does she know… Ryan’s a werewolf!

Notes: This Webtoon is super sweet… and cute… and pure. The characters are lovely, the romance touching, and the plot interesting. But if you figure out how Frankenstein and a celestial maiden can birth a witch, a werewolf, and a nine-tailed fox, lmk. XD

Title: Gourmet Hound

Status: Completed (166 episodes)

Description: Lucy, whose got an incredible sense of smell and taste, returns to her favorite restaurant after many years to find that it tastes all wrong. So, she goes on a search to track down each of the old chefs to find the one whose food she remembers so well.

Notes: Gourmet Hound touches on all kinds of relationships, and real-life struggles and emotions. It also has lots of food and laughs, and a diverse cast of characters.

Title: Days of Hana

Status: Completed (113 episodes)

Description: “A story of love between werewolf boy Haru and human girl Hana”

Notes:  JUST READ IT...

Untouchable and Ghost Wife are also really good!

hey! have you ever read My Secret Brother by Willow? I just finished reading it and it was one hell of a roller coaster. If you have read it what are your thoughts? And if you haven't, I highly recommend!! :D

I haven’t read it but I have seen it pop up a couple of times to promote it. It has been sitting in my list of things to read tho
