Conceptualisation is here! I think you might see the pattern already, I absolutely enjoy designing Intellect characters but maybe that's because my first ever run was 6 int and crappy all the rest. Had a lot of fun here and as always design concepts and all will be placed in the reblogs.

Smograts

While the use of Smograts have been on the decline since modern gang-warfare evolved with the new territories, Smograts are still very much in use, especially by the many smaller guerrilla cells.

Cheap, adaptable and highly mobile, Smograts saw their rise to prominence during the early years of the gangsters rule over Rubis, where the territories were smaller and less equipped, and seizing territory was about moving fast and moving decisively.

The lightweight unit is named after its main tactical advantage: Scuttling through the dense materia-smog and picking off enemies in the dense fog. The name also partially derives from the modern deployment of the unit, which has recently been to manouver and fight in the close confinements of the city's sewers and cisterns. Though after decades of infamy the Smograt's range of tasks and environments of expertice has vastly expanded. Spanning over just about any environment that is deemed undesireable or excessively hazardous for others to access.

As such, the Smograt has become highly sort after. Not in due to their value as soldiers, but because of the ease of hiring one on contract and paying them at the back of a job well done. Especially considering that the many freelancing Smograts have failed to collect and form any kind of unifying price-range or agreements to the conditions they will work under. Making it common practice to simply sift through the many working the dangerous employ until a Rat with the willingness to take the job offered crops up.

To date, Smograts' have been deployed not just by gangs, but occassionally public emergencies too as backup to the starved relief-aid. Meaning that are likely to catch a Smograt working alongside rescue teams, firefighters and maintenance service, much to the frustration of the established unions who find themselves continously undermined by the Rat's low wages and disregard for workplace safety.
