Can you do one where the Warrens are helping a family and a spirt grabs the reader by the hair and drags her around the house? (Like in the first conjuring)
"Dragged by the Dark"
AC: Hi! Of course. Enjoy this☺️
Warnings: violent paranormal attack (hair pulling, dragging, physical assault by a spirit), brief physical injury and pain descriptions, possessive/hostile spirit behavior.
The old farmhouse groaned like it was breathing.
You had investigated enough haunted houses with Ed and Lorraine to know the sounds of settling wood, the sigh of wind through loose boards. This wasn’t that.
This house felt awake.
The family huddled together in the kitchen while Ed adjusted the tape recorder, his jaw tight but calm. Lorraine stood a few steps ahead, her fingers lightly brushing yours as she focused, her eyes distant — seeing what no one else could.
You stayed close to them both. Not because you were afraid — though fear sat heavy in your stomach — but because that was where you belonged. Between them. With them.
Ed glanced at you. “You ready, sweetheart?”
You nodded, offering a brave smile. “Always.”
Lorraine’s hand slipped fully into yours, grounding you. “It’s strongest upstairs,” she murmured. “It doesn’t want us here.”
“Good,” Ed said firmly. “That means we’re doing something right.”
The three of you moved toward the staircase.
The air changed halfway up — colder, thick, like stepping underwater. Your breath fogged faintly. The wood beneath your feet creaked in protest.
Lorraine stopped abruptly.
Her grip on your hand tightened.
“It's here.”
The words barely left her mouth before the bedroom door at the end of the hall slammed shut with a violent crack.
Ed rushed forward, you right behind him — and that was your mistake.
The hallway lights exploded.
Darkness swallowed everything.
“Ed?” you called, reaching out blindly.
The answer came in the form of something sharp and vicious yanking your head backward.
Pain erupted across your scalp as invisible fingers tangled brutally in your hair.
You screamed.
Your feet left the ground.
“Y/N!” Ed’s voice roared somewhere ahead.
You clawed at your head, but there was nothing there — nothing visible — just an unbearable pulling force dragging you down the hallway. Your back slammed against the floorboards as you were yanked away from them, your body scraping across splintered wood.
“LET HER GO!” Ed shouted.
Lorraine’s voice rose in frantic prayer, her tone trembling but powerful. “In the name of God, I command you—!”
You were dragged toward the staircase.
The force jerked your head sideways, slamming you against the wall. Stars burst behind your eyes. You gasped, choking on fear as your body scraped down the hall, helpless.
And then—
It stopped.
Your body hovered for half a second in suffocating stillness.
A whisper brushed your ear.
"He can’t protect you."
You were flung.
Ed caught you at the top of the stairs just before you tumbled down them, his arms wrapping around you with crushing force. You buried your face into his chest, shaking violently.
“I’ve got you,” he breathed, his voice rough and furious all at once. “I’ve got you.”
Lorraine fell to her knees beside you, her hands moving over your face, your shoulders, your hair — checking for injuries, tears spilling freely down her cheeks.
“It tried to separate you,” she whispered, horror lacing her voice. “It wanted you alone.”
You nodded weakly. “It said… you couldn’t protect me.”
Ed’s expression darkened in a way you’d only seen a few times before. Not fear. Not doubt.
Rage.
“It’s wrong,” he said firmly.
Lorraine cupped your face gently, pressing her forehead to yours. “You are not alone. Not here. Not ever.”
Her lips brushed yours softly, grounding you. Safe. Warm.
Ed pulled both of you into his arms, holding you against him with fierce devotion. You could feel his heart racing beneath your cheek.
The house groaned again — louder this time — almost angry.
Good.
Let it be angry.
You straightened slowly, legs trembling but steadying with their support. You looked down the dark hallway where the attack had come from.
“It’s scared,” you said quietly.
Lorraine looked at you in surprise.
“It’s losing control,” you continued. “That’s why it lashed out.”
Ed gave a small, proud smile despite everything. “That’s my girl.”
His hand squeezed yours.
Lorraine’s other hand intertwined with both of yours, forming an unbreakable chain.
The temperature dropped again.
A door at the end of the hall creaked open on its own.
Ed exhaled slowly. “Alright,” he muttered. “Round two.”
You stood between them once more, fear still present — but smaller now. Because whatever this house held, whatever darkness clawed at the edges —
It would have to face all three of you.
And this time, you were ready.
