My current HCs for the nature of romantic feelings of the main 1-6 around the events of series 1-2! hoorayyyyyyy

pink = hypotheticals- if you asked them and they had to answer, they’d say ‘would’

1x4: Allies- they’re both not entirely opposed now that they’ve seen each other at their worst and realize that they can actually get on alright (post-Down the Mine).
1x5: Friends- they realize they’ve got chemistry, and might not entirely opposed the idea of dating (post-Thomas and the Breakdown Train).
1x6: Friends- Thomas doesn’t have strong feelings for Percy, Percy strongly yearns for Thomas (post-Thomas, Percy and the Coal).
2x3: Friends- Edward is slow to the uptake and doesn’t fully realize it for a while (by Coal). Henry had a long-term crush (post-Edward, Gordon and Henry), tries to let it fade with time (pre-Trouble in the Shed), and realizes they’re still there decades later (~Edward’s Exploit).
2x5: Friends (exes)- Edward didn’t reciprocate and prefers overseeing James as a mentor, James had his shot but ultimately went unrequited and preferred being friends in the end (date: post-Old Iron, exes: pre-Wrong Road).
3x5: Frenemies- both are too prideful to relent, but do recognize similar traits in each other that are admirable.
4x5: Friends- Gordon doesn’t take much notice of James on account of his own pride. James has admired Gordon since day one (pre-James and the Coaches).
5x6: Friends- James is embarrassed that he’s not entirely opposed to Percy. Percy thinks it would be humorous to date James.
Remus Lupin and Sirius Black have a tight friendship, some may say a little too tight. Remus and Sirius get jealous when either of them is with somebody else, but what does that mean?
“Of course I’m ready.” He laughs and flashes his bright teeth, looking purple in the multi changing lights. “You’ll be my side, right Moons?”
“‘Course.” Remus takes a sip of his drink, looking around the room. Sirius does the same before grabbing his face. He laughs, dimples around his lips.
“You’ve got a little,” He doesn’t finish his sentence and wipes around Remus’ lips with the pad of his thumb. The whole world slows for a second, and only resumes when he takes his hands away from Remus’ shocked face. “All better.” He swallows and nods. “Um, you all good, Moon? You’ve gone all…” He gestures around Remus’ face.

Jaskier convinces Geralt to join him to watch the Perseid meteor shower. Lying next to Jaskier, arms pressed together as as they stare at the stars , Geralt realises just how much he’s come to care for him. If only Jaskier felt the same way.
Jaskier pulls the blanket up over him, burying his hands into the soft fabric. He lets out a sigh - a breath he hadn’t even realised he’d been holding.
“You okay?”
Jaskier starts. He must have sounded a lot sadder than he realised. “I… ah… it’s silly.”
“Try me.”
He smiles. “It’s… gods, okay: The shower always used to be just before the Summer results at the Academy. I’d go out and watch them, and, you know, it felt like…” he thinks, “like luck? If I saw them, it’d all be okay.”
“And was it?”
“Was it what?”
“Was it all okay?”
Jaskier pulls the blanket tighter around his shoulders and turns to peer at Geralt. “...Yeah, it was.”
Geralt doesn’t respond, just continues staring up at the expanse of sky above them, the smallest smile creeping on his face.
