Just last week I posted an article on Facebook about the Bainbridge House in Princeton, #NewJersey becoming the future home of offices and exhibit space for the @princetonu_artmuseum. Here is what the house looks like from Nassau Street. The house was built in 1766 by Job Stockton. Today, it is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Princeton. When the Continental Congress occupied Princeton in 1783, it served as lodging for its members. The house was later leased to Dr. Absalom Bainbridge whose son Commodore William Bainbridge fought in the War of 1812. The home has been owned by @princeton_university since 1877, serving as home to the @princetonpl for over fifty years in the 20th century and the @hsofp from 1967 through December 2015. #nj #njhistory #SpreadTheHistory #historygirl #history #archi_ologie #architecture #oldhouselove #travelblog #travelblogger #blogger #blog #ushistory #americanhistory #explorenj #jerseycollective #princeton #princetonnj #princetonuniversity #journeythroughjersey #university #college #continentalcongress #bainbridgehouse #nassaustreet #americanrevolution #library #museum (at Bainbridge House) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bl4HQzDB3dC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hfhehmr2bilz
