Okay, I'm getting a little mad with the posts I'm seeing recently. I am all for "all systems are different" but we can not simply ignore the literal medical evidence and psychology behind CDD-systems.
There is no core. If systems call their Host their core b/c they're comfy with it: go for it, aint my place to judge (/gen). But in DID and OSDD-1 etc there has never been an original part or alter or a core (as its usually defined). It. is. not. possible.
DID/OSDD-1 develops in early childhood due to ongoing severe trauma. It causes dissociation barriers that prevent the childs multiple identity states (that all young kids have) to integrate in the state of life where the personality really forms and the states merge into a single person.
That means (even tho it might feel like it) there has /never/ been an original part where others just spawned too or wharever. They have always been multiple b/c the trauma never made them stand a chance to ever be a single personality. All kids start out with those multiple facets that /usually/ integrate, with DID they just dont, but they have been there the whole time.
Thats what medically happens in DID and OSDD-1 systems. "But wouldnt that make all children have multiple personalitys before the states integrate?" Not really. Young children do start out with many different emotional states, roles and identity fragments, but only the DID etc really makes them be seperate (also later on in life). DID etc disrupts the usual integration process.
I hope I could explain it well, if not: Asks are always open.
(Edit: some people see the part(s) in early childhood before the splitting began as a whole part or core, which I dont want to dismiss, it just really depends on the definition on what people mean with core or original self)
((Also we're currently working on a paper (around ten pages) explaining and exploring Syscourse, we promised it a while ago, but yk, life and stuff, I'm still on it.))
