Ashton clearly communicating that he didn’t want a healing spell, but then proceeding to mention medical attention to people outside the group got me thinking. What if maybe his issue with getting healed is like... the spell slot it takes. 

Ashton is so careful with the group; the first to suggest buying healing potions (and the first to suggest restocking, tho that didn’t end up happening), not liking it when the group splits up and they can’t keep an eye on everyone anymore, keeping stock of everyone during battles and placing themself between the enemy and vulnerable parties, etc. They’re clearly protective of everyone’s well-being. They’re also aware that they’re hardier than most. But on top of that; Ashton is a melee fighter. As long as they’re conscious, they can pretty much keep fighting. So the thought that people who can’t take as many hits could run out of the spell slots that let them defend themselves? Terrifying! Don’t! Please save your spells for emergencies!

No because Imogen specifying that she isn’t going down the creepy alleyway without Laudna! Not just without the party or another person she wants Laudna. I love that they feel safe with each other.
