episode 76 really is an episode of all time. britney spears opening ad, and sam stays dressed as britney for half the episode including wearing a skirt we can't even see. beer pong contest that caleb (privately) wins. jester, caleb, and reani are bats."i like bread!" fjord bitch-slaps jester out of polymorph because she's too stupid as a bat to do it herself. caleb and beau take a meeting with demid sunlash to discuss the mysteries of ruidus in a fantasy denny's parking lot. HEIST! nott accidentally one-shots a guard by dealing 69 points of damage (nice). caleb and nott make a plan to message each other and then can't because nott's too far (nott is not concerned about this; caleb DEFINITELY IS). *fjord voice* one dead, no communication. caleb and fjord go invisible. "you go first. on three" "WHAT are we DOING on THREE?!" fjord and caleb realize they can't see each other if they're both invisible and aggressively hold hands to keep track of each other. fjord gets captain america'd by the wildmother in the form of a seaweed wrap. meanwhile the party trades quiet and tender moments and meaningful check-ins with each other. THE STAR RAZOR IS REFJORGED. the entire party screams their heads off when fjord uses mask of many faces to look like nott. *southern drawl* "eldritch blast" "OOH YEEHAW." beau and reani have sex and it makes everyone level up. who is doing it like episode 76

incredible episode. shit beer pong. marisha and taliesin's failed cross-screen fistbump. fjord and caleb being invisible and fjord squeaking "you're crushing my pinkie". also fjord: "WHAT ARE WE DOING ON THREE??" nott murdering a generic guard npc with a critical hit 60 points of damage. beau continuing to smash her way through every female guest (mostly). nott and caleb's talk about her drinking... aoowgh.

I love that Fjord gained one iota of muscle and Nott immediately started flirting. The woman knows what she likes!

Eleven things I noted about CR2E76 “Refjorged” (amazing title !!) (no Talks Machina about it) :

The thousand yard stare that Mica has during Sam's ad... Yeah, same, girl, same.

Marisha looks extra beautiful tonight, with her hair braided that way on the side

The Mighty Nein remembers the last time they robbed a rich noble house, and Jester ads that Beau was almost killed by an evil rug. Reani : "Okay, no carpets for Beau." Beau, a disaster lesbian, who cannot resist doing a lesbian joke : "... Well... I mean..." Oh yeah that deserved a fist bump.

Caleb, pretending to be Beau's assistant to the weird scholar : "She's like the big moon and I am the small moon behind the the big moon." LIAM HOW DARE YOU (I love seeing campaign 2 after campaign 3 so much !!)

I love Marisha and Travis together and every conversation between Beau and Fjord, but this one was one for the ages : Beau offers Fjord athletics lessons and following her morning routine, Fjord says he doesn't know because he tried one push-up once and it hurt his body for two days. Beau : "That's like... every day of my life !" Fjord : "Oh, really? God, you don't show it." Beau : "...The pain kind of turns me on just a little bit. Don't tell anybody that." Fjord, bewildered and blushing : "... ok..." Beau : "I hope that doesn't dissuade you to come work out with me ?" Fjord, very quickly, and obviously lying : "No. Not. At. All."

Nott and Jester, they are not the Not(t) the Best Detective Agency anymore ! They are STONE-COLD KILLERS OF GUARDS holy shit that was awesome. I love heists because of shit like this when something goes hilariously wrong

Caleb detects a trap with strong necromantic vibes inside the armoire that is basically the Narnia armoire since a secret chamber is hidden by it. Caleb, very ominously : "That's a bad...armoire..." (the cast peals away in laughter)

Seeing Marisha search through her extensive notes because she knows she heard "Jagentoths" somewhere, seeing Matt so proud of his wife for taking extensive notes and remembering the stuff... so cool. Also thanks Sam who doesn't remember much but also takes notes and can search through them efficiently !

Fjord's alliance (there's no other word... this is a biblical alliance) with the Wildmother is... the music was so etheral and pure... the words of comfort... this was so beautiful I cried.

Ohhh Beau and Reani yesss !!! Jester is right, Beau gets so much action.

CR2E75-Rime and Reason

knocked this one out quick during a long shift. Here’s thoughts!

Every time Essek has a moment of vulnerability I understand people’s interest in him a little more. The detail of his toes scraping in the snow is still fun!

I am still suspicious of his character; my impression of people shipping him w Caleb was just fandom shoving two sad boys together while ignoring interesting female relationships, but maybe that won’t be the case!

I was kinda sad about the yetis! I feel like Matt was setting them up to be potential allies or at least a conversation, but the gang bought into Reani’s pov about them so instantly that there was never really a chance for that

Fjord and Caduceus’s thing was so sweet! I love the dynamic of human saves another in a terrible place while also learning more about themselves than they ever meant to. It does still make me sad how much Caduceus sees people as jobs and not people, but that doesn’t mean he can’t mean a lot and do something very important for Fjord. 

It’s such an interesting character choice for Nott to egg Reani on to put herself in danger. such an interesting example of the grey morality this character specifically exhibits: she cares, yes, but she’s also pragmatic and not ashamed to prioritize her own family.

Wow was the dragon stuff ever intense! There’s less to say about combat encounters, but I did love how this dungeon forced creativity. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! 

The screaming when the dragon was clawing at them was so fun: and I noticed specifically that Taliesin was very specifically choosing not to yell Cad looked scared, yes, but he was still calm-ish, even in the face of that dragon. I haven’t decided yet if that’s an admirable level of self-control and patience or a worrying level of emotional suppression. Maybe both?
