A tasty and simple pizza with a crust that looks like focaccia and is topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, fresh tomatoes, and basil. Great for a quick pizza night at home!
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp. 1 cup warm water. 1 tsp sugar. 1/4 cup olive oil. 1 tsp salt. 1/2 cup tomato sauce. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 2 tomatoes, sliced. Fresh basil leaves. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Mix sugar and warm water in a bowl. Set the water and yeast on top of each other. Wait five minutes or so until the yeast starts to foam. Salt and olive oil should be added to the yeast mix. Add the flour little by little until the dough comes together. For 5 to 7 minutes, knead the dough on a floured surface until it gets smooth and springy. Cover it and put it in a bowl that has been greased. Let it rise for an hour, or until it doubles in size. Turn on your oven and heat it up to 425F 220C. Roll out the dough and punch it down. Then, put it on a baking sheet that has been greased. Spread it out to cover the whole sheet. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, making sure to leave some space around the edges. The sauce should have mozzarella cheese on top of it. Add tomato slices on top of the cheese and season with pepper and salt. It should be baked in a hot oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Take it out of the oven, add fresh basil leaves on top, and let it cool a bit before cutting it. Get your Tomato Mozzarella Focaccia Pizza while it's still hot and enjoy it!
