Via Essence.com: Raheem DeVaughn and Wes Felton reunite for socially conscious-themed single.
Brought together by the death of Baltimore resident Freddie Gray, who died while being transported in a police van last year, Raheem DeVaughn and poet and songwriter Wes Felton reunite as The CrossRhodes to deliver a Freddie Gray-inspired soundtrack called, "Footprints On the Moon."
If you're skeptical about an empowering sonic outlook on life, don't be. "Footprints On the Moon" flows into any eclectic music box with that includes political prowess from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Tupac, or even the the socially aware Beyoncé.
Aside from its musical counterparts, The CrossRhodes' new single is for anyone who has "a voice and [is] tired of the injustices that are currently streamed and televised for human consumption almost daily."
Perfectly meshed, "Footprints On the Moon" provides listeners with the perfect preview of the duo's upcoming, untitled album, which blends plenty of jazz and neo-soul, "crooning with socially conscious hip-hop word flow."
The CrossRhodes new project doesn't release until next year, but you can listen to their new single, "Footprints On the Moon.”
