Numbers and Cards

Numerology is probably one of the most oldest forms of divination. Ever since people began to count and order things, they gave numbers special powers. Some were considered lucky, while others not so much.

The Aces, Twos, and Threes

The Aces: The Number One, or Ace, is Alpha, the beginning of all things, the number of creative power and individuality. It is the primary number from which all others are evolved.

The Twos: One engenders two, and two creates three. Now, we have in Number Two pairs of opposites- positive and negative, night and day, spirit and form. This duality is expressed in the cards as balance of forces; it indicates creativity not yet fulfilled.

The Threes: Three is the number of growth and expression, the trinity of wife. In three, we have man, woman, and then child; seed, earth, and then plant. Ideas are worked out in the mind, and then comes the material result. Number One contains an idea; Number Two, the pair that carry out the idea; in Number Three we have the fruits of the partnership or mating. Three also represents mans triune nature- spirit, mind, and body.

The Fours, Fives, and Sixes

The Fours: Stands for the cube or square, equally divided. It is the number of reality, the material universe, logic, and reason. Through incarnation the divine image of mankind as a threefold being is brought to the material plane, forming a square. Man's divine destiny is to learn to express consciously, though their life on earth, the perfection that they already possess in spirit.

The Fives: Five is a number of uncertainty. It carries no constant vibration; it may shift and change. It can indicate uncontrolled activity and swing to the depths of despair. It is symbolized by the five pointed star, the pentagram. The fives in a Tarot deck signify more adversity than one generally finds in books on Numerology.

The Sixes: The number of marriage, motherhood, and harmony, the six stands for balance and equilibrium. Its solidity is represented by the six sided cube. Six is primarily the number of the mind.

The Sevens, Eights, Nines, and Tens

The Sevens: Seven is a number of great significance that carries profound undertones. This number denotes wisdom, perfection, completeness; it is a number of the mystic, and relates to the soul development of the individual. There are seven major planets, seven notes in the scale, seven days in a week, seven virtues, seven vices, and seven deadly sins.

The Eights: Eight is the number of justice, judgement, material progress, and health. It is a symbol of regeneration and the balance of opposing forces. Sometimes cited as the number of death and destruction, it really betokens death of the old, the evil, and the wrong to make way for the new, the pure, and the just.

The Nines: In this number, all the foorces of the other numbers are summed up. It is symbolical of attainment on the three planes of being: physical, mental, and spiritual. Nine is commanded to be perfect in Ten, which is the One of beginning placed beside the Zero of spirit.

The Tens: The meaning is perfection through completion. The Ten in each suit of the Minor Arcana is the ultimate quintessence of each suit. The "good" suits, Cups and Pentacles, show the height of bliss, while the "bad" suits, Swords and Wands, show the depth of tribulation- the ultimate, the completed force whether for good or evil.

song: is there a certain musical sound to your spirit?

yes! it’s very...celtic sounding? it’s airy and wistful...

travel: which place on earth do you feel best represents the energy of your spirit?

oh this is such a good question...i don’t quite know how to explain why i feel it, but i feel very spiritually connected to ireland. i’ve never been there, but there’s something about it that just calls my spirit. if i were to choose somewhere closer to home, i’d say you could find my spirit sprawled out in a deep forest somewhere around michigan c:

guide: if you were a spiritual guide or guardian, who or which type of person would you want to mentor?

i think i’d like to mentor someone young, someone who’s already been through some stuff. a young boy who’s had to act twice his age, or a little girl who needs love and assurance - i’d want to help someone understand themselves spiritually and also have the early life i didn’t get to have. does that make sense? is that an appropriate answer to this question?
