Sally's Ultimate Marble Cupcakes are a delightful treat that combines the flavors of vanilla and chocolate in a beautifully marbled cupcake. These moist and tender cupcakes are perfect for any occasion and will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients: 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup sour cream. 1/2 cup whole milk. 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder. 2 tbsp hot water.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the sour cream and milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. In a small bowl, mix the unsweetened cocoa powder and hot water until smooth to create the chocolate batter. Divide the cupcake batter evenly into two separate bowls. Fold the chocolate batter into one of the bowls, creating a marble effect. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the vanilla cupcake batter, then spoon a dollop of the chocolate batter on top. Swirl a toothpick or skewer through the batter to create a marbled pattern. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, you can frost them with your favorite frosting or enjoy them plain.
