Succubus Profile: Lazuli

Lazuli. Named so because of her startling resemblance to the gem, Lapis Lazuli, Lazuli’s a younger Succubus that escaped the same time as her best friend, Almandine. Born of the same herd, Lazuli and Alli knew each other from birth, and often played together, memories she holds dear.

Her home in Canterlot is also shared with her friend, but since Lazuli’s rarely there, as the social butterfly she is, Lazuli more sees it as her mooching off of Allie, and so often works to ‘make things fair’, something Allie often rolls her eyes at, but secretly appreciates.

Lazuli’s true form would be considered quite curious. In both forms, her coat is a beautiful deep blue, speckled with flecks of silver like freckles over her face, down her legs, across her rump and shoulders. Her bright mane is a tricolour of silver, white and a pale blue in Succubus form, the blue fading in pony form, and her twin horns are long, sweeping back in elegant S shapes. She’s lithe, flexible and fit. So she should be, since she teaches/instructs fitness and dance classes for ladies and gentlecolts of all social standings. She even feeds off of them passively during classes, meaning she never goes without a meal.

But in spite of her friendship with Allie, and despite all of her friends from her classes, she much prefers to socialise with Umbra, an older succubus whom persuaded her to help in her activities for reintegration of Succubi into pony society, fighting for their freedom. She reports on any succubus she finds around Canterlot, including on Allie’s activities, with said friend’s blessings.

Umbra’s also the only other equine Lazuli has admitted her fears to, including her fear of Allie losing herself to her hunger should she use too much magic. She was there when Allie lost herself to the hunger. She watched in horror as her friend drained a pony dry, killing them.

She never wants to see her friend like that again. And she quails in fear whenever Allie gets angry at something, even if it’s not at her. She hasn’t the magical power to take on Allie. Indeed, for a female she’s considered quite weak. Umbra could easily overpower her, a fact she made quite clear when Umbra confronted her in her studio.

But for now at least, everything’s okay. She has her friends, she has her home, she has her passion. Nopony could ask for more for themselves than what Lazuli has now.
