Your hand settled against Kyungsoo’s chest as you began to feel sleep hit you. His arm instantly tightened around your waist in response, keeping you tighter into his side as a heavy sigh of frustration escaped from him, brushing the top of your head.
Instantly, your eyes opened up, as his fingers began to tap against your side. It was a nervous habit of Kyungsoo’s that you’d learnt over the years, whenever he was irritated or unable to settle, he’d mess with something in the hope that in the end it would be enough to wear him down.
To begin with, you were sure that you could ignore the tapping, but as it got faster, and a little bit more forceful too, you knew Kyungsoo needed you. You pushed yourself up carefully so that your eyes could look up at him staring off to the ceiling.
“Kyungsoo, are you alright?”
His eyes looked down at the sound of your voice, feeling his heart quicken as he studied the soft smile on your face. As his head nodded back at you, you let go of a quick apology, understanding just how hard it all was for him.
“I thought you’d be asleep by now,” he whispered, keeping his voice low, “I just can’t seem to be able to drift off to sleep. Lyrics keep swirling around in my head and all these dates that I know are on my schedule too.
You pushed yourself up even further, allowing your lips to press softly to his. His arm kept you in position, propping you up so that he could feel your lips on his a few more times before allowing you to settle back against his chest.
Once you were comfortable, his lips diverted to press against the top of your head, allowing his hands to continue to dance along your waist. You were happy leaving Kyungsoo to do whatever he needed in order to try and get some sleep.
After a few minutes, you could finally feel his heart begin to settle, and his body untense around you. His lips continued to press to the top of your head every few minutes, little tokens of how appreciative he was to have you in his life.
“Has this helped a little bit?” You quietly asked him.
“Definitely,” he hummed back at you, leaning into the crook of your neck, “it turns out a kiss from you really can be the answer to all of my problems sometimes.”
“As if,” you laughed, feeling his lips move to press against the skin underneath your jaw. “If it’s helping, why don’t you try and close your eyes again Kyungsoo? See if you can finally get some rest in you before work tomorrow.”
His head shook, moving away from your neck so that his eyes could meet yours again, continuing to admire the wide smile that you wore.
“If I sleep, you sleep,” he suggested, “because I know you’ll stay awake and watch me for a while.”
“Of course,” you smiled, pressing your hand to his cheek, “I want to make sure that you rest well.”
His face nuzzled into the palm of your hand, allowing your fingertips to gently brush through the shorter strands of hair that shaped his face. As your thumb brushed against his cheekbone, his eyes began to flutter open and closed.
As sleep began to rule over Kyungsoo, you could see how much calmer his expression was, as his mind began to clear from all of the things that had been clouding him.
As you went to move your hand away though, a soft hum came from him. “Don’t let me sleep alone just yet,” he requested, placing your hand right back where it was.
You couldn’t help but chuckle at how soft Kyungsoo had become, with the corners of his own mouth turning up in surprise at just how needy he sounded for you.
“Can you move closer so I can keep kissing you?” He then asked, rolling onto his side so that you could move forwards and rest against his chest. “That way I can sleep.”
“Well, if it helps you sleep, I guess it would be rude of me not to cuddle up to you.”
“Very rude,” he agreed, snaking his arm around your waist, as your hand moved from his cheek to his chest. “Sleepy kisses might just be my new favourite kisses to exchange these days.”
Another chuckle came from him as his lips began to press against the top of your head, scattering across your hairline. It was a side of Kyungsoo that very few got to see, but it was a side that you most definitely adored.
“I can’t see you anymore to know if you’re eyes are closed or not,” you frowned, “you made me lay here on purpose so I couldn’t see you, right?”
“My eyes are closed, and I’m already dreaming of you, I promise you that much.”
“Now I definitely don’t believe you,” you laughed, trying to lean back and look up at Kyungsoo, but he managed to lean far enough back too so that you couldn’t see.”
He chuckled softly, “I just want to watch you for a while and then I promise I’ll fall asleep. It helps my heart settle knowing that you’re resting well and feeling loved by me.”
You knew that was Kyungsoo’s way of politely letting you know that he still felt sleep was a way off but knowing that he at least wasn’t as stressed about everything on his mind was a great deal of comfort for you.
“I know you tend to feel like you can deal with your problems alone Kyungsoo, but please remember that I’m here too. If you just want to lay like this for a while and get anything off your chest, then I’d always be here to listen.”
“No, you need to sleep,” he sniggered, pressing further against the top of your head, “but I do appreciate greatly that you’re always here for me and caring for me.”
“As I do to you too,” you whispered back at him, “but I can’t sleep knowing that you’re not sleeping Kyungsoo.”
“I’m happy just kissing you for now.”
Your head shook as he continued to press along your hairline, tightening his arms around you so that you couldn’t try and look up at him again. Kyungsoo was stubborn, and when he knew how his body was feeling, there was no changing his mind.
“When you do feel sleepy, close your eyes,” you instructed, poking his abs, “don’t stay up all night kissing me just to be tired at work tomorrow.”
“Being awake doesn’t seem as bad as it did half an hour ago now that I’ve got you laying properly beside me,” he mused, “I’m quite enjoying being able to embrace the moment with you for once without feeling stressed.”
“Sleeping would help you feel less stressed,” you continued to try and argue, “but knowing that you’re at least a little bit more relaxed will do for now. Just please look after yourself for the rest of the night now.”
“Will you stay laying here?”
“I will,” you confirmed, hearing a soft hum come from above your head.”
“In that case, I definitely will look after myself.”
A/N: This was purely based on his mv. I haven’t written anything this fast in so long.
It’s also a little different than my other works, this is quite pure and more a soft story than anything else

“She surely got her hair from her father.” The thought ran through your mind as you slipped the brush through her hair. It was silky and easy to manage, lovely, it was lovely just like his. She truly did resemble him, made him feel like he was around even when he wasn’t.
“Let me know if I’m pulling too hard.” You said, allowing the brush to slide through her wet hair again. “Okay mommy.” Her voice was so sweet, it melted your heart. She was your absolute world and these moments before bed were your favorite. Brushing her hair, her teeth and tucking her in, they were precious moments. Moments you knew Kyungsoo would love to be around to see.
“Alright, all done! Time for bed.” You said, putting the hair brush down and watching her run from the bathroom to her bedroom. You followed her slowly, a soft smile on your face as you did so. You were in no rush to end your nightly routine, after all you cherished these moments.
Once you reached her bedroom, you couldn’t help but laugh as you found that she was already tucked in, with her stuffed dog tucked under her arm snuggly. “I even tucked myself in for you! Now you can tell me a longer story.” You laughed at her words, so that was what this was all about.
“A longer story? That’s what this is about? Well what type of story do you want to hear?” You asked her, stroking her cheeks as you laid down next to her. “How you and Daddy fell in love.” Her words had you stumped for a moment. It was natural for children to be curious about these stories, you just hadn’t expected it tonight... from your 8 year old. Kids were full of surprises.
“You want to hear that story? That is a long story.” You said, thinking back to the fond memories with a smile. She nodded and you let out a fake annoyed sigh. “Alright, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” You told her and watched as she adjusted the way she laid down to look at you. “Well, it started with your father coming into the café almost everyday to watch me work-” You started, only to hear the bedroom door open.
“Don’t go telling her lies now.”
“Daddy!” Your daughter cheered, seeing Kyungsoo standing in the door frame. “Hello my angels.” He said softly, walking over to the bed and leaning over to plant a kiss on both of your forehead’s. “Now what is this I hear about me watching you work? That’s not how I remember it.” He said with a laugh, sitting on the edge of the bed. His hand extended, lacing his fingers with yours as you stuck your tongue out at him. You might have been married with kids, but you two were still the same as how you started.
“Well then how do you remember it?” You asked and he took a deep breath, hand squeezing yours. He didn’t have to dig far into his memory, it was like yesterday to him and everytime he looked at you, he felt it all over again.
~“Some day, ten years ago, I was having a really bad day.”
A bad day was the right description, his bicycle had gotten a flat tire in the middle of the day and well, then it decided to pour rain and get all of the papers in his bag wet. Yes, you’re truly stereotypical bad day.
Kyungsoo was truly cursing out the weather, it said on the radio that it was going to be sunny all day. So now here he was, pushing his bicycle in the pouring rain and trying to protect his canvas bag filled with school papers and books. Groaning in dismay, he paused pushing the bicycle and looked up at the sky. The poor college student could hardly see in the first place, now that his glasses were filled with rain drops it didn’t help. Taking them off, he decided to squint and push forward towards the building he could make out through the trees of the park.
Normally on a regular day, he wouldn’t have even noticed it but now he was looking for somewhere to stay inside. At least, until the rain got a little less agressive.
He stopped in front of the door, reading the sign to himself quietly. “Café Rose...” A café, it couldn’t have been too bad right? Or expensive? It was near a college campus, of course it wasn’t. But he didn’t really care. All he wanted was a warm cup of coffee and a dry place to sit.
Walking in, he was greeted with the smell of coffee and what he assumed where flowers on the wall. His glasses were still tucked into his shirt and well, he really couldn’t see very well.
“Hi can I get you anything?” It was a sing-song like voice that greeted him from behind the counter and it snapped him out of the relief he was feeling from being inside. “Uh yeah, give me a second.” He looked over the counter, squinting past the servers face to look at the menu but having a hard time. He was about to just give up, grab a simple coffee and go to save himself the embarrassment.
“Let me help you.” The server reached over the counter and took his glasses from his shirt. The action caught him off guard completely, making him adjust his bag as the server cleaned off his glasses.
Now he expected them to just hand them back, but they went the extra mile. Slipped the glasses onto his face and allowing them to rest on the bridge of his nose. Kyungsoo was in shock, but at least he could see.
The servers face became clear, revealing a messy ponytail, a burlap apron and a light blue t-shirt. They looked cheery, despite the weather, obviously not having quite the day he was having.
“Can I have a rose cappuccino?” He asked hesitantly and the server nodded, typing it into her machine. He took the moment to look at the name tag, mulling it over in his head after reading it. “Y/n... Y/N... nice name.” He said in his head as you smiled at him. Oh he must’ve been a sight for sore eyes, looking like a wet puppy.
“Alright! Have a seat, I’ll bring it to you.” You said, gesturing to the chairs and tables throughout the café. Kyungsoo wasn’t going to say no to this, he was finally dry. So he took his bag off of his shoulder and made his way to the nearest table.
He instantly started fishing loose papers out of his bags, spreading them out over the small space in the hopes to salvage them. They weren’t too damaged but still appreciating being laid out to dry. Any longer in the rain and the notes wouldn’t be legible anymore.
Kyungsoo puffed out a sigh of relief, noting that the damage wasn’t too bad and ran his fingers through his wet hair. He wanted the day to be over, this mess, coupled with the paper on aneurysms he was doing research for, Kyungsoo just needed a little break. Maybe this was the universe’s way of telling him to slow down.
“One rose cappucino.” Your voice was smooth as you interupted his thoughts, placing the cup and saucer on the table next to his papers. You couldn’t help yourself, really, but be curious. It’s not everyday a lost looking, puppy eyed, cute boy walked into the shop. Let alone one that seemed smart and well a little dopey. The face he made when you slid his glasses onto his face was something that you wouldn’t forget, even if you never saw him again.
“Cute.” Kyungsoo remarked, seeing the rose stenciled in the foam of his drink. “Isn’t it? Kind of cheesy but, cheesy can be good.” You said, eyes trailing over his papers and his eyes trailed over you.
You were pretty, a little tired looking and dishevelled, coupled with slightly chipped yellow nail polish, however it didn’t diminish how pretty you were to him. The down to earth type of pretty.
“I can’t understand anything that’s written here. You must be crazy smart or some sort of med student.” You joked, not expecting to be right on the money, until he looked up at you. “Well I am a med student.” He said timidly, he always felt shy about his chosen profession. Becoming a doctor came with alot of pressure.
“Wow, that’s really cool. I could never. I was never good at school.” You said, alternating between standing on your toes and the balls of your feet. He was just looking at you with fascination as you spoke. It just came easy to you.
“I’ve never seen you in here before.” You commented again, really only having a one sided conversation because well, there weren’t alot of customers and you were bored. “Yeah, it’s my first time in here. My bike got a flat and then it started to pour.” He admitted and you started to fidget with your tray. “So it was fate. The universe is telling you something. You should come by more often.” You said in response before gesturing towards his coffee.
“I’ll leave you to it, before your coffee gets cold.”
Kyungsoo found himself in that café often from that moment on. He found it a nice place to study, to take notes and do research and well, he liked looking at you. So what you told your daughter wasn’t entirely a lie.
A few times he had come in to find you also there as a customer, taking notes haphazardly and looking tired. Seems you were also a student, just fighting to make it through your lessons and do well. He could admire that. So he simply let you be, not wanting to disturb you because he knew it was hard.
It was nice to see him there under better circumstances, clean glasses, dry hair and clothes, it made him more appealing. However he seemed to truly resort back into the studious med student type. Very focussed on his work every time he came in. You, yourself had taken time off to study as well. Papers were due, exams were coming and you felt yourself slipping. But studying was never your forté, so 90% of the time you could only stare at him with envy. You wished you could ask him for help, but what would the med student want to do with the frazzled art student?
These thoughts were going through your mind as you walked to the café, getting ready for your shift and wondering if your silent friend would be there again. He really hadn’t spoken much to you the first time you met him, you didn’t even know his name. But he was on your mind, ever since he made that face when you cleaned his glasses.
You were so focussed on your thoughts that it took the ringing of a bicycle bell to snap you out of it. Looking up you were met with those big puppy dog eyes as he tried to stop his bike in time from hitting you.
“I’m so sorry! I was spaced out.” You said as he stopped his bike and taking his headphones off. “So was I.” He laughed, flashing a beautiful smile your direction. “Were you headed to the café?” You asked, tucking a hair behind your ear in anticipation. “No not today, I was heading home.” You couldn’t hide your disappointment in your face but nodded anyways.
“Oh... I was wondering something.” You moved on, not quite caring if you were a little late. “What’s your name?” You added, flashing a smile at him that you got in return again. “Kyungsoo, Do Kyungsoo.” He told you, making you look at the ground. His name felt nice in your mouth, it felt right.
“I’m Y/N.” You told him in return, extending your hand to him. “I know, you wear a name tag.” He said, taking your hand in his and shaking it gently. “So, Kyungsoo the med student... I’ve been wondering something else.” You hesitated with this. It was quite an odd request, especially since you didn’t even go to the same school.
“I’m going to assume you make good grades.” You said, leaving a space in your sentences for him to say something. “Fairly so, why?” You were relieved at his response, meanwhile he was getting nervous and gripping on to the handles of his bike.
“Can you help me study? I know you’ve seen me study here before and well frankly I suck. Your notes always seems so neat and you do well so maybe you can teach me how to study?” He didn’t know where you were going with your question, but he didn’t expect it to end here and he really couldn’t help himself but smile.
“Teach you how to study? I can do that.” And with those words, it was settled. Kyungsoo had his change of pace and you, well you had your saving grace. You definitely would have failed your classes if it wasn’t for him, though you didn’t want to admit that.
It started off as study dates on your days off, meeting up in the cafe and going over your material together. He helped you organize notes, quized you, made you laugh when you felt like you couldn’t. You could feel yourself falling for him, in a way you had never fallen for anyone before.
You even started helping him study, quizing him with flash cards and learning things about surgery and medical terms you never thought you would know. At least terms you almost knew you would never need to know. But it was interesting none the less.
You really couldn’t tell if he felt the same, he was quite a bit better at hiding his feelings towards you. But there were those moments where he let out a laugh he didn’t mean too, or blushed a bit harder when you complimented him. You didn’t know it, but Kyungsoo was absolutely smitten over you. But like you, he wasn’t sure you shared the feelings. For being 2 very smart people (albeit in different ways) you were very dumb when it came to love.
Exams were around the corner, which made studying in the café a little harder because study sessions stretched into the night and instead coffee and muffins, you were eating chicken and drinking beer. Instead of being at the café, you were at his small, quaint little house.
There was a comfortable silence in the room as you lifted the can of beer to your lips, quickly returning to scribbling in your notes. Kyungsoo was sat across from you, mimicing your position on the floor and taking his own notes diligently. Truly your arrangement was odd, working together but on completely different subjects, but it worked.
“Quiz me?” He asked, holding up his flashcards in your direction. You both liked doing this a lot, it was a lot more than just revising notes and well since it was getting late, it was a great way to close the study session. “Fine, as long as you do me.” You told him, sliding your own cards over the table. He smiled at your response, his days were most definitely brighter since you were in them. Even now, at night, in a dim lit living room and sitting on the floor with the smell of fried chicken in the air, he couldn’t help but feel so happy.
“What is a subdural hematoma? This sounds like an easy one, if you don’t know this shame on you.” You joked, not knowing the answer at all yourself but seeing the answer on the back of the card did not make things easier. “Oh, that is easy. It’s a type of brain bleed that finds itself inbetween the inner layer of the dura mater and the arachnoid mater of the meninges surrounding the brain.” He said, smiling proudly at himself. It was an easy question, you weren’t wrong. “You are correct... you’d think I’d start remembering these things the more we do these but they go straight over my head.” You admitted, leaning back and watching as he sifted through your flash cards.
Kyungsoo was looking particularly handsome that evening, a simple plaid button up on his shoulders with a white t-shirt underneath and he was wearing his glasses. You absolutely loved it when he wore his glasses. They just made his eyes sparkle even more and they framed his face beautifully. Not to mention his lips, they were just so pouty as always, and you couldn’t really take your eyes off of them.
“Hey, I asked you a question. What were some of the most prodominant artists in the Baroque time period?” He snapped you out of your thoughts, making your cheeks flush slightly as you pulled your knees to your chest. “Uhhhhhh, Carvaggio, Rembrandt.... and one more.” You said, grinning cheekily because the other had slipped your mind. He started laughing, nodding a little bit as he did so. “You’re not wrong. You’re missing Reubens.” He said and placed the card on the bottom of the stack.
“You don’t have a boyfriend or anything, right?” The question caught you immensly off guard. Not because he was asking it, but because you thought it was obvious. “No, Kyungsoo, I don’t have a boyfriend.” You smiled, watching him scoot around the table to your side. “You don’t have some sort of nursing student girlfriend, do you?” You asked, as a joke at first. But the curiousity was truly there. You really, really, really liked him.
“No, I don’t have a girlfriend.” He didn’t quite know what had gotten into himself. Maybe it was the beer, the atmosphere, or maybe it was just the way you looked at him. As someone who wanted to be a doctor, he didn’t quite like to make decisions based off of emotions or feelings, he liked facts and statistics, things that had a logical reason. But there truly wasn’t a logical reason to the way he was feeling, he just knew in his gut that you were going to marry him some day.
“That’s nice, that you don’t have a girlfriend. Means that I don’t have to be all too guilty about having a crush on you.” You were honest, not quite wanting to hide your feelings anymore. Even if he didn’t feel the same.
“That’s a relief, means that I don’t have to feel guilty about having a crush on you too.” He said softly, making you turn your head to look at him. He was looking at the wall, avoiding eye contact because his cheeks and ears were burning. That was until he felt you tug on his plaid shirt slightly. Kyungsoo turned his head to find your face close to his.
“I would really like it if you kissed me, Kyungsoo.” You said softly, eyes glancing down to his lips and he couldn’t hesitate anymore. He did it, he kissed you softly and well from that moment on it was history. ~
“So mommy asked you to kiss her?” Your daughter asked and you shook your head slightly, knowing it was true but admitting defeat. “Asked? She begged me to kiss her.” Kyungsoo lied, looking at you as you gasped and dodged the light slap you threw at him.
“Remember what we taught you about lying? Remember that lying is bad, Daddy needs a refresher.” You said, stroking her hair as she yawned. You glanced back to Kyungsoo, knowing that he was thinking the same. It was bed time.
“It’s time to go to sleep, sweetheart.” He said, leaning over and kissing her forehead before standing up. Extending his hand, he helped you out of her bed and you kissed her as well. “Goodnight, I love you.” You said softly and she yawned again. “Wait, what happened after that?” She asked, fighting to keep her eyes open. You looked at Kyungsoo again and then pulled her blankets up a little higher. “Well, 2 years later we got married and then we had you.” He said, placing a light hand on your hip. “You can hear more tomorrow. Now, goodnight.” He added on and tugged you along slightly.
Kyungsoo loved bed time with his daughter, but he also loved the alone time with his wife afterwards.
“The more I look at her, the more I see you.” Kyungsoo called out from the kitchen, pouring you both a glass of wine. “That’s funny, I see you when I look at her.” You called back, settling onto the couch for the evening and enjoying the quiet.
“How was work today?” You asked him as he sat down next to you, sinking into you slightly. He craved your touch, especially after the long day he had. His head was on your chest and you threaded your fingers through his hair, this was his safe spot.
“Long, just really long. Sorry that I came home so late, I had a lot of paperwork to do.” He clarified, watching as you sipped your wine. You were still so beautiful to him, 10 years later and you didn’t look much different from the first day he had seen you. Brightly colored, chipped nail polish and a messy head of hair, absolutely stunning.
Kyungsoo turned his head a little more, now being in the prime position to lace soft kisses over your neck. “You remember how that story really ends? It wasn’t just a kiss.” He mumbled into your neck and you hummed in content. “Mmmm, I most definitely remember how that story ends. Glad we told our daughter the PG version.” You laughed, only for your breath to hitch as his face was directly in front of yours.
“Care to take a trip down memory lane again?” He asked you, a cheeky smile plastered over his lips and he put your wine glass down on the table. “Hmm, we did leave the story a little wide open.” You smiled in response, kissing his lips gently and cupping his face.
He couldn’t feel any luckier, truly. Kyungsoo had a steady job, an incredibly smart and beautiful wife that he loved and a daughter who was his entire world. He was the textbook definition of happy and he felt that coming home every day.
“Thank you for making my bad day better ten years ago.”
A/N: I really, truly, love this writing of mine. It’s soft and sweet and I’m just proud of it. I loved writing it, it went smoothly and it feels like it has emotional weight.
I hope you like it as much as I do, I don’t write for D.O as much as I should.
exo reaction to someone flirting with their significant other
XUIMIN: He didn’t usually get jealous because he trusted you but he hated the way the other male idol was looking at you. everyone knew you were taken by him so he couldn’t understand why the guy in front of you was still flirting with you. He didn’t want to make a scene so he just walked up to you and wrapped his arms around before pressing a kiss to you cheek.
“What were you talking about Jagi?”
You smirked at him, knowing exactly why he had come up to you the way he did, “Nope. Nothing important.” The guy quickly got the message as he scurried off in a hurry.
SUHO: The rest of his members could see him fuming as he glared at the guy that was flirting with you. You had recently announced your relationship to the world and he knew the other guy knew you were taken.
“Just go up there already or trust that she can take care of herself. There’s no point in glaring at his head,” Kyungsoo spoke with a sigh. Suho was about to make a comment before they all heard a slap and you stomping towards them, seething from the converstation you just had.
“Are you okay?” He asked before wrapping his arms around you.
You scoffed, “Some people should really learn how to respect woman.”
CHANYEOL: He hadn’t stopped pouting the entire he watched the guy flirt with you and it irked him that you hadn’t put an end to the conversation already when it was obvious that he was flirting with you.
“Dude, just go up there and talk to her.” His best friend sighed but before he could reply you sat next to him and placed your head on his shoulder.
‘You have no reason to be jealous. I love you and no one is going to change that.” you spoke, knowing full well he was going to deny it anyway.
“I was not jealous.”
You giggled, “The fact that you think you’re not is one of the many reasons why I love you.”
CHEN: He hated the way that the guy was talking to you but wouldn’t get up right away as he wanted to see how you would handle the situation. He’d be debating wether to get up or not before you beckon him over to the conversation that you were having with the male idol. He was utterly confused and so were the rest of his members.
“Jongdae, I want you to meet my old friend, Mark.” you introduced and he would be utterly confused before shaking his hand.
Mark smiled, “It’s nice to finally meet the guy that’s swept her off her feet. We honestly thought she’d stay single for many years to come.”
“You’re so rude.” you glared at you best friend as Jongdae smiled at the exchange. He really had no reason to be jealous.
D.O: He wouldn’t do anything. Yes, he’d be jealous but he trusted that you could take of yourself. There would be many situations that someone would try and flirt with you and it didn’t surprise him, you were gorgeous and he still couldn’t believe that you had chosen him.
You sat down next to him with a huff as you crossed you arms over your chest. He looked at you in confusion before he looked at the guy you were just talking to and noticed he had a wide smirk on his face and was bragging to his friends.
“What happened?”
You scoffed, “Why can’t some people take no for an answer?”
“Want me to end him?”
SEHUN: He would never admit that he was jealous but it definitely irked him the way that the guy was looking at you. No woman should be treated like an object and she had every right to say no when a guy asked her out. Your relationship had been public for a while so the guy knew you were together but it was your reaction that set him off.
“If she tells you no, you walk away. She’s my girlfriend but also her own person and she’s told you no numerous times. You’re lucky we’re in public otherwise I’d have punched you in the face.” The guy was quick to run away as Sehun wrapped an arms around your waist.
Exo reacting to you getting scared of them during an argument
Request: May I have a reaction to having an argument with Exo but then you get too scared by their temper and start crying?
Situation:
“Why don’t you understand that he is just a friend?” you yelled at him. This argument started since he came home. He just barged into your apartment and shoved his phone in your face showing you a picture where you and a guy ate ice-cream together.
“Why didn’t I know nothing about this ‘friend’? Do you think I’m stupid?” he air-qouted (is that even a word?(ー_ーゞ) the word friend, his voice also raising. You never saw him like this, sure you had fights before but he has never been this mad before. You knew it was bad yelling at him like that but you had to make him listen to you somehow.
“I’m telling you that he is just a friend? Why the hell is it so hard to g-”
“Shut up!” your eyes widened upon hearing his scream. You quickly tried to hide yourself behind your now trembling arms while letting out a whimper.
Xiumin:
His anger left his body the moment he saw your state. He approached you slowly and carefully to not scare you any further.
“Baby- No- You know I’d never touch you like that.” Xiumin pulled you then in his arms trying to calm you down.
Suho:
He regretted it instantly after he yelled at you. Maybe he should have listened to you and he should have trusted you more.
“(Y/N) baby... Please don’t be scared of me. I could never-” he whispered under his breath loud enough for you to hear.
Lay:
(Okay but I really can’t imagine this unicorn doing something like that. I mean look at him. ( 。_。))
Tears welled up in his eyes upon seeing your trembling form. He reached a hand to you but stopped midway afraid that he might scare you more.
“(Y/N)...no. You *sobs* know I wouldn’t. Please *sobs*”
Baekhyun:
His eyes were wide. He didn’t even realize he yelled at you so he was beyond dumbfounded to see you like that.
“Babe... What’s wrong? Is it because of me? Did I scare you like that?”
Chen:
He would first think you were trying to prank him because you always pulled pranks on each other but when he heard your quiet whimpers he knew that you were scared and frankly he didn’t know how to act.
“I... Did I... What should I do? (Y/N)... I’m so sorry.”
Chanyeol:
He would look like a lost puppy not knowing why you were scared but when he figured it was because of him yelling, his body would fill with guilt. Chanyeol kneed in front of you resting his head on your stomach and holding your hips with his arms.
“No, please. Don’t be scared of me, please. I could never harm you like that. I love you, (Y/N).”
D.O:
Kyungsoo’s face would fall when he saw your small body cowering in fear. On the inside he would beat himself up for scaring his precious girl while on the outside he would show little to no emotion except for the tears in his eyes. He would give you a hug hiding his face in the crook of your neck.
“I’m so sorry” he would whisper
Kai:
Like Chanyeol he would look like a lost puppy for a moment then he would realize what happened and he would regret starting this fight with you in the first place. Kai would slowly take your hands away from your face and looking into your eyes he would sincerely say
“Baby, I’m sorry for yelling at you, I didn’t mean to scare you like that and I would certainly never lay my hand on you in that way.”
Sehun:
He wouldn’t even notice your state for a few seconds and would continue the argument. When he’d realize the argument was just one-sided he would look at you. After taking you in, his eyes would widen and he would feel like the biggest jerk on earth.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N). I-I won’t hurt you s-so please don’t be scared anymore and let’s forget that this argument even happend.”
Kyungsoo realized now that he had taken many things for granted in his short life. Peeling his eyelids open, both feeling like sheets of lead against his eyeballs, he felt frustrated as they abruptly fluttered shut once more. Flexing his fingers against the rough blanket thrown haphazardly over him, he felt a bead of sweat run down his temple. He was able to keep his eyes open enough to zero in on the analog clock in front of him, the only decoration on the stark white walls. Staring until his eyes became watery with effort, he finally blinked, the action becoming easier with each bat of his eyelash.
His fingers released their vice on the blanket, gaze carefully shifting to his hand. There was a bandage wrapped tightly around his palm, the gauze itchy and invasive. Kyungsoo lifted his hand in front of his face, curling his fingers and stretching them back out, eyebrows furrowing. He wasn’t sure where he was; if he was in his own bed or not. Pursing his lips, he tried to create the image of his home in his mind, heart sinking when nothing enlightened him.
A dull, monotone beeping droned on, making Kyungsoo grit his teeth. Moving his stiff shoulders, he dropped his hand down, wincing as one of the needles in his arm shifted. More alert now, he sat up on the flat pillows an inch, his eyes moving like molasses around the room. There wasn’t much to it; monitors, a table with untouched food on a tray, a lone teddy bear sitting at the foot of his bed. Feeling his lungs expand sharply as he looked right, the monitor beside him began beeping faster as his eyes landed on the threadbare recliner next to him.
You slept in the chair beside him, your elbow propped up on the armrest, supporting your head. Hair tumbled down into your face, obscuring your lovely features from him. Feeling a strange pain in his heart, he longed to brush the hair from your forehead. Kyungsoo wasn’t quite sure who you were, let alone why you were sleeping in a chair beside him. The only life in the desolate room, Kyungsoo clung to you, burning your image in his mind. Your lips were parted, soft purple circles beneath your closed eyes. The arch of your brow was relaxed in sleep, chest moving slowly but deeply with each breath you took. He felt torn, stuck between not wanting to wake you and longing to hear your voice. Swallowing thickly, he licked his lips before opening them.
“E-Exuse me,” he rasped, his voice coming out dry and painful. Eagerly, he watched as your eyebrows knit together. His lower lip jutting out in a pout as you continued sleeping, he shifted in his bed a little, getting closer to you.
“Excuse me!” Kyungsoo repeated loudly, his voice cracking at the end, gripping the plastic bedrail. He watched, feeing guilty, as your elbow slipped from the armrest, your head falling before you let out a broken gasp, jerking your self upright as hair fell into your eyes. Chest rising and falling frantically now, you brushed hair away from your face, heart squeezing.
His eyes were wide and clear, just like they’ve always been. Gauze covered a spot on his forehead marred by broken glass, his smooth skin disrupted by patches of purple and blue bruises. Kyungsoo’s lips were parted, a look of curiosity playing across his features.
“Soo?” You breathed, too scared to move. He had been asleep for three days after the accident. You hadn’t left his side since, terrified of what would happen if you were away even for a moment.
He had been driving home that night when a driver swerved into his lane, forcing Kyungsoo to hit the barrier on the side of the road. You had burst through the hospital doors the same time he was rolled in on the stretcher, his beautiful face lax in sleep, battered and bloodied. In that moment, you knew that nothing could quite compare to the fear and devastation that you felt. The hospital staff couldn’t let you see him, bringing him behind a set of closed doors to assess him. No matter how calmly the doctors told you he was very lucky, his surface injuries not particularly severe, you couldn’t help but completely fall apart.
Even now, you felt dread course through your veins. Kyungsoo suffered from a head injury as his head hit the steering wheel. Because of this, the doctor had told you there would be a chance that once Kyungsoo woke up, he may have trouble remembering. Watching his eyebrows lift as you spoke, hope spread through you warmly.
“Um… Where am I?” His voice was hoarse, the warm tone of it making your eyes fill up. Leaning forward, you tentatively wrapped your fingers around his cold hand. He stared down at the contact, confused, before looking back up at you.
“The hospital, they brought you here after your accident,” you whispered, feeling a tear drip down your face.
“O-Oh, don’t cry,” he stuttered, flushing. He began to wonder once more about who you were. A feeling of sadness washed over him when he couldn’t remember seeing you before. By the way you were holding his hand, he had an aching suspicion, desperate to know if it was more than a hunch.
“Are you my girlfriend?”
With that, you felt the floor drop out from underneath you. Withdrawing from him and sitting back on your chair, you felt as though you had no more tears to shed. Carefully watching your reaction, the sympathetic sadness on his face hurt the most. The room was silent for a beat, the only sound being the quickened sound of the monitor keeping time with his heart. Your breathing was ragged as you looked at the floor. He didn’t need you to answer him, the empty look on your face, the sag in your shoulders, revealed all.
“I’m sorry,” Kyungsoo whispered, not sure how to comfort you. You looked at the floor for a moment before speaking.
“I’m going to get the doctor, he should know that you’re awake,” you finally announced, standing. Limbs stiff from sitting there for so long, they screamed in effort as you walked to the door.
“Uh, wait!” Kyungsoo called, the alarm in his voice make your heart throb. “Are you coming back?” He asked, fisting his blanket tightly in his hands. Feeling your hollow chest ache inside of you, you sighed.
“Of course, Soo,” you murmured, pushing the door open and leaving him quite alone.
You sat on a chair outside of Kyungsoo’s door, clutching a styrofoam cup of gritty coffee. The doctor had been with Kyungsoo for a half an hour, checking his vitals and running a few tests. You felt terribly lost, unsure as to how your relationship will ever recover from this.
You cursed the drunk driver that had hit him. Hoping to never see his face, you denied any request the man who hit your boyfriend to come and apologize to the both of you. Knowing that if you had a scapegoat you would recklessly unleash all your rage onto him; you told the hospital staff to not let him anywhere near Kyungsoo.
Hearing the door beside you click open, you looked up warily. Kyungsoo’s doctor, a kind, older man with bushy eyebrows stepped out with a clipboard in hand, a hopeful expression on his face.
“(Y/N), how are you holding up?” He asked politely, shaking your hand as you stood. Nodding tiredly, you tossed your coffee in the trashcan beside you, waiting for his news.
“It looks like Kyungsoo should be able to go home as soon as tomorrow, his healing process is coming along nicely,” he told you, smiling a bit.
“He doesn’t remember me,” you pointed out, looking down at your feet. You weren’t sure when you had started shaking, but as you watched your hands tremble, you felt the doctor’s hand on your shoulder.
“I believe he has some post-traumatic amnesia. This memory loss is due to his head injury, however I don’t believe his injury is severe enough for him to suffer long-term,” the doctor explained. Hope spread through your body, making your lips quirk up a little at the corners.
“So that means…?” Trailing off, you stared at the doctor eagerly. Smiling warmly, he shook your hand once more.
“That means that Kyungsoo will likely begin to regain his memories, he just needs a few weeks. Take him home tomorrow, continue to support him and he should heal in time,” patting your shoulder, the doctor wished you a good night and strode off. Feeling like the luckiest girl in the world, you thought you were going to drop to your knees in thanks, looking up to the sky like a dutiful worshipper.
You turned to the window facing into Kyungsoo’s room, the blinds slightly open. He was propped up on his bed, head lolled to the side, eyes fluttering shut. You could tell he was struggling to stay awake, his eyebrows furrowed in adorable frustration. Opening the door, he sat up quickly, recognition and eagerness coloring his features.
“May I?” You asked, looking down at the side of his bed. Moving over, he nodded, watching you carefully. It still felt painful to look at him, knowing that he didn’t remember you but you were still hopelessly in love with him.
“My name is (Y/N),” you told him, seeing a look of remembrance flash across his face. “I’ve been your girlfriend for a little over a year now. We live in an apartment together downtown, above an old pho restaurant. Every Friday night we watch a movie together, no matter how busy we are. And even though you don’t want to admit it…” you rambled, eyes trained on the rise and fall of his chest, a small smile playing on your lips. “… you do enjoy drinking wine with me, even if you bitch about it.” Peering up at him carefully, his eyes were studying you, lips parted.
“It’s because you always choose red wine, why is it never a nice white?” He asked slowly, a smile spreading over his face.
A sudden giddiness taking over you, you began to shake in laughter, not caring that he was patting your arm and asking what was so funny. Clutching your stomach, you wipe a tear from your eye, noticing the soft pink that colored Kyungsoo’s cheeks. He was still in there, all he needed was a little bit of encouragement. He was absolutely correct, you did always buy red wine for the both of you. That little memory he shared with you raised your spirits. You stood, still grinning.
“Soo, I’m going to go home and shower, but I’ll be back tomorrow to bring you home,” you told him, suddenly growing serious.
“Promise you’ll come back?” His voice sounded small as you adjusted the strap of your purse more securely around your shoulder, his smile fading. Softening up, you bent down and pressed a light kiss to his forehead. His eyes fluttering shut at the contact, you told him yes.
“Promise you won’t forget me?” You asked him, cupping his cheek.
“Never again,” Kyungsoo murmured, releasing the hold he had on your wrist, which was so natural to you, you hadn’t even noticed he grabbed it. Before you got too emotional, you straightened up, bid him goodbye once more, and left the room.
Kyungsoo stared at where you just sat on his bed, missing your presence already. He felt at ease and safe when you were there. The longer he watched and listened to you, the more he noticed that your movements seemed familiar to him, your voice once again becoming his favorite sound. Kyungsoo felt comforted by this; comforted by the fact that his life would soon return to normal, that he would become the boyfriend you deserved once more.
Sitting up quickly, cold sweat dripping down the back of his neck, Kyungsoo clutched at his chest as he struggled to remember where he was. Taking a moment to calm down, he recalled that he was in the hospital, being brought there after his accident. Someone was coming to bring him home today.
But where was home? Squinting in the darkness, he sorted through possibilities. A voice, more lovely than the sweetest symphony, telling him they lived downtown, above a Thai restaurant— no, a pho restaurant. And who was bringing him home? The owner to the voice? Eyes scanning the room as he went through all of the faces he could remember, the image of your wide eyes, pretty hair and soft lips sprang forth in his mind. Hitting the sides of his bed excitedly, Kyungsoo almost shouted in triumph. Your image brought forth a tidal wave of vivid memories, one more specific than the next.
(Y/N), his girlfriend. He met you in a department store after you told him the suit he was about to purchase was about two sizes too large for him. You had been dating for one year and three months, arguably the best 15 months of his life. He bought you a set of your favorite book series for your birthday, signed by the author, and you cried. You stayed in the hospital in the chair beside him for three days, waiting for him to wake up. Feeling a tear prick at the corner of his eye, Kyungsoo collapsed back on the pillow, watching the sun rise as he waited for you to return.
You lugged a bag of Kyungsoo’s clothes into the elevator, ignoring the looks you were getting from the old woman standing next to you. Nearly sprinting off of the elevator, you headed for Kyungsoo’s room and tried not to burst in too abruptly.
His back was facing you as you opened the door, combing his fingers through his hair in the mirror off to the side of the room. Hearing you come in, he turned, a wide smile on his face.
“(Y/N)!” He called, walking up to you. He looked a little uncomfortable in his hospital gown, pulling at the fabric of it. Your heart soared as he said your name, noticing the gauze was gone from his forehead. Neat little stitches sat right above his eyebrow, the skin around it bruised. Trying not to obsess over the injury, you offered a smile back.
“Morning, Soo,” you said shyly, handing him the bag. “I brought you some clothes, go get changed and we can get out of here.” Taking the bag from you, he rolled his eyes.
“Right, I forgot how much you hated hospitals,” he poked your arm, your eyes flying open at his sudden remark. Closing a curtain to the other, empty side of the room, he began getting changed behind it.
Kyungsoo was seemingly remembering more and more about you at a miraculous pace. Expecting to put a little elbow grease in to helping him regain some of his memories, his progress without you had you astonished. Snapping you out of your reverie, Kyungsoo shoved the curtain aside, looking infinitely more comfortable in the jeans and thick white sweater you packed him.
“Looking good, babe,” the pet name slipped from your lips without thinking, your heart pounding waiting for his reaction. Chuckling, he shoved his feet in his boots, straightening up. No adverse reaction came, your shoulders relaxing as he moved to the door. Scanning the room to make sure he hadn’t forgotten anything, you moved next to him, looking when he didn’t open the door.
His arm was outstretched, his palm open. Staring at it dumbly, you looked up to him in question. Raising his eyebrows expectantly, you nearly shouted in happiness as you took his hand, allowing you to drag him from the wretched hospital room.
As quickly as you could, you got him checked out, a prescription carefully tucked away in your jacket pocket. Stopping him before he went outside, you laughed as he got flustered, fussing over him as you pulled a winter hat over his head. Reaching for your hand once more, loving the way your small hand fit in his, Kyungsoo let you lead him down the street.
His breath coming out in puffs of white, curling into the air before disappearing completely, Kyungsoo recalled the way to your apartment hazily. The line of the trees were familiar, sparse and sprinkled amongst the concrete sidewalk. Passing a laundromat, Kyungsoo smirked a little as the image of you sitting on top of one of the washers popped into his mind. The memory of your lips on his touched his mind, getting a little too carried away for a public setting as you tangled your fingers in his hair, his head tilted up to meet you sitting on top of the washer. Welcoming the memory eagerly, he wondered when he could kiss you again. He supposed that he could kiss you anytime he wanted, being your boyfriend, but the circumstances were bizarre.
The buildings becoming much more recognizable, Kyungsoo felt satisfied as you asked him what building you lived in, picking out the correct one and being rewarded with your delighted expression. He struggled to remember what floor you lived on as you ushered him into the elevator, helping him out by pressing the button to the 18th floor. Kyungsoo knew that he wouldn’t be able to remember everything right away, but it still frustrated him to be clueless. He followed you to the end of the hallway.
“Which one is ours?” You asked him, trying to gauge the extent of his memory. Studying the two doors, Kyungsoo took note of the doormat in front of the apartment on the right. Another memory, a fight between you two this time, flooded into his mind. It was quite childish, you were always the one to track mud and water into the apartment after a rainy day, not taking your shoes off at the door. After a quarrel that resulted in Kyungsoo cleaning the dirty floor once more, he went out the next day and bought a doormat.
“That one,” he pointed, smiling as he realized how stubborn you were. Eyebrows raised in surprise, you squeezed his hand.
“You’re doing so well, love,” you commented, extremely pleased. Unlocking the door, you stepped aside so he could enter first.
The studio apartment was filled with the essence of you; your perfume, your pretty flower arrangement sitting on the kitchen counter, and books strewn in various locations. He was there too, he noted, his jackets hung neatly on a coat rack, the windowsill overflowing with his mini herb garden. Not saying much, you watched as he slowly entered the apartment, smiling to himself. He ran his fingertips over the books on your shelf, categorized in alphabetical order by him, before stopping at the wall next to the kitchen.
Filled with framed pictures, there was one of him holding his award he had won for his movie last year. Another was a picture of you, holding a vibrant autumn leaf in your hand from last fall. His eyes soaked up as much as he could, lingering particularly long on a photo of the both of you sitting on a park bench, bundled up in scarves and big winter jackets, your lips pressed to his cheek. He felt the home that you had built together now more than ever, his heart racing.
You watched him, leaning against the doorframe to the kitchen. Turning to face you finally, Kyungsoo had a very strange look on his face. Alarmed, you straightened up.
“Are you okay?” You looked at his various injuries, checking to see if any stitches came loose. Pulling up the arm of his sweater, you noticed that none of his wounds seemed to be ailing him. Looking up, you almost stepped back as he stared at you like he had at those pictures: intensely and calculating.
“What, is there something on my face?” You asked, releasing him and feeling around your face for crumbs. Dropping your hands, you knit your eyebrows together, about to ask him what was wrong again before he cut you off.
“Can I kiss you?”
The question was so simple, you almost didn’t think about it. Thinking about your second ever date with him, you remember those exact words coming out of his mouth, the same way they just had seconds before. Swallowing, you nodded, watching as he hesitantly reached out to pull you closer. Hands sliding up to cup your face, you closed your eyes as you wrapped your arms around his neck, the action so familiar it felt automatic.
You sighed as he finally pressed his lips to yours, realizing how much you missed the feeling the past four days. His lips were cautious on yours, softly kissing your lower lip. You let him take the lead, not wanting to push him while he was still healing. Even so, you couldn’t help but kiss him back with everything you had, making him smile and break away a bit to breathe. It wasn’t long before he dove back in, and again you were reminded of your first kiss from him, just as eager and soft.
In many ways, this was another first kiss, another promise. It marked the end of the obstacle you both just faced, as well as the beginning of the next. It would take time for him to fully remember, you knew, but as he took your hands, leading you to the living room and pointing out the stack of books you’ve yet to read, you were ready to embrace that obstacle head-on, because you knew you had Kyungsoo with you every step of the way.

being the supportive boyfriend he is, kyungsoo would be insanely proud of you and be amazed at how astonishing his someone was for achieving something so high.
you’d be coming home with the brightest smile on your face as you had gotten the best news at work that day. the previous CEO of the company recently stepped down from their position, and reccommended you as the employee they’d like to take over that position in the company. it was a huge honor being in that position at a company, and it was something you became proud of because all that hard work you did had paid off in the end.
walking through the door with that smile still expressed on your face, kyungsoo would take notice immediately and assumed you had a good day at work. you replied with a nod, humming your way along to the the bedroom to change your clothes.
“i have big news!” you exclaimed as you walked back out of the room, taking a seat right next to your boyfriend on the couch.
“what is it?” he asked, fully interested in what you had to say.
the grin on your face had grown bigger, and you were full on cheesing by the time the words escaped from your mouth. “i’m becoming the new ceo of the company!”
kyungsoo’s eyes widened in surprise, barely able to hold back a smile because of how happy he was for you. the two of you stood up at the same time, and he engulfed you into his arms. “i always knew you would,” he said, just above a whisper. “you’re going to be the best ceo there is out there.”
a blush crept onto your cheeks at his sudden compliment, and he let go of you to head on in to the kitchen to make you a celebratory dinner for the night. he wanted this day to be extra memorable for you, waiting to show you his other plans he had prepared for you later.
