H50 - The neverending lovestory of Danny and Rachel
Yes, last night’s episode didn’t fail to disappoint me.
Danny is pictured like a weenie who forgot all the ugly things Rachel did to him. The epi started out great but soon turned into a sappy soap. The ending felt like scraping over a chalkboard w/ fingernails, a sound & feeling which u find extremely irritating like said scene.
If you ever experienced betrayal in real life so deep that it left scars on your soul, you know that you’re not going to trust this person ever again. How can you live with someone you don’t trust? You can’t. Been there done that. Not going to work. You hope so badly that this person has changed. He/she promised it to you, told you it is never going to happen again, he/she swore it. BUT you only fall for it once. Old habits die hard, and people hardly ever change. Soon you be back to your old pattern, and everything is starting all over again. You begin to doubt everything this person is telling you. Even, if it might be the truth.
It also seems that Lenkov and his writers are back at retconning by giving Rachel some awkward lines. A friend of mine wrote to me:
Rachel says something like she knew it wasn’t going to work with Stan even before she moved to Hawaii but didn’t want to put Grace through another divorce.
So she treated Danny like crap why? Cause she’s a bi***.
Took away his visitation and custody even though she really didn’t want to be with Stan. Seems like a bit of creative rewriting to me.
I couldn’t agree more after watching this episode. It left the same stale taste like so many other episodes this and last season. And I think we might not even have the reached the peak of it.
On a different note: Even Scott’s acting skills and the way he pictured Danny in the dramatic scenes, couldn’t put this episode out of its misery. It was doomed from the beginning. Kinda like Rachel - only in a not so pleasant way, I experienced a Déjà-vu from episode 9.11 and also 8.18...
