Hey again, for the dad!fred request, no I don’t have any specific ideas! :)
I figured something out, hope you like it!
SOMETHING WRONG
Pairings: Dad!Fred Weasley x Fem!reader
Summary: Fred as a dad of a son that doesn't seem to like tricks and pranks
Warnings: nothing
Fred had tried countless times to get his son, Hugo to laugh at his tricks and try to get him to be interested in them, but Hugo never satisfied Fred in that department
Fred would put on a firework show every now and then but Hugo would focus on a stuffed toy he had in his hands, and when Fred took the toy off him the next time he did it, Hugo just played in the grass, sparing no mind to the explosions of bright colours.
it annoyed Fred that he couldn't bond with his son over pranks and tricks. and it wasn't that Hugo was too small, he was 5 years old, which Fred found is the perfect age to start.
Fred always told you that he would go out to have fun with Hugo but when they got home he never said anything about how it went
you just assumed it was good and that they had so much fun that Fred was too tired to tell you. and you loved that they had that bond
you often found yourself wanting to go with them to see their fun and spend time with them but you knew it was their time together, you had him all day most days while he ran the shop so when he went out with Fred you didn't really want to intrude on their time alone
"I'm taking Hugo out to play, we'll be back before dinner" Fred informed you, his trick suitcase in his hand as he held Hugo's hand
you smiled at him, letting him kiss you on the cheek
"take a jacket, please, it's cold out there" you said before they walked away.
Fred put down the suitcase and let go of his hand before going to your room
you leaned down and ushered Hugo closer to you
"give mummy a hug" you opened your arms, smiling when he ran to you, giving you a hug, leaning up to kiss your cheek
Fred came out holding his sweater and Hugo's coat, passing it to you
you helped Hugo put it on and kissed his head, letting them go
"have fun you two!" you called as they left
"I love you" you heard Fred yell out to you
you sighed happily as you let yourself relax before you started dinner.
-
you heard the door open and panicked as you heard them walk in, you checked the clock and noticed that they had only been out for 20 minutes and that dinner is 2 hours away
they would usually be out for hours doing things and come home just before dinner, so you suspected something might've happened
"is everything ok?" you asked as they walked into your line of sight, Hugo ran to his room crying as Fred rubbed his face
"what happened? is he ok?" you stood up
"something's wrong with him" Fred huffed, seeming annoyed
"what?! what's wrong, Fred?" you rushed, worried something bad
"he doesn't like anything I do, he doesn't smile at fireworks, he doesn't laugh at the stupid tricks and he doesn't even bat his eye at any product, are you sure he's my kid?" he questioned
you stared at him, not knowing if he was joking at the last question or not
"are you kidding?" you frowned
"he's not interested in anything I do with him, what type of father am I if I can't bond with me son over anything?" he threw his hands in the air
you sighed and went past to him and walked to Hugo's room.
you opened the door and shut it behind you, seeing him on his bed, underneath his blanket
you sat down on the edge and slowly pulled it off him
"Hugo? honey what's wrong?" you whispered, stroking his hair
"does daddy hate me?" he sobbed
"what? no, of course not, he loves you more than anything in the world, what makes you say that?" you helped him sit up, watching as he wrapped his arm around you.
"he started yelling, and took my toy off me" he cried
you closed your eyes and shook your head
"stay here, let me go talk to him, ok?" you kissed his head, getting up, leaving him on his bed
you walked out and heard Fred in your room, you went in and saw him packing his things up, a frown on his face
"you yelled at him?" you raised your eyebrows, he looked at you confused
"no, I didn't-" he huffed out
he shook his head and walked out, going to Hugo's room
-
all Fred wanted was a little him, a little him that would cause mischief with him, to play pranks with and have fun with.
Fred just seemed upset that his own son, his little miracle wasn't like him, that he didn't seem to care about what Fred did for a living.
Fred believed that it meant that Hugo wasn't proud of his father, that he wished he was something better and it made him feel ashamed of himself, wishing he did something better with his life
he never said anything to you about it cause he thought you would think it's stupid, that you would remind him that Hugo is only five years old and doesn't know what's going on
he walked in to Hugo's room and felt like crying when he saw Hugo's red face and puffy eyes.
he made his son cry
Fred gulped as he walked to him, he kneeled down in front of him and watched as he moved back.
did he scare him too?
"I didn't yell you" he started
never in his life did he think he would have to apologise to his child, but here he was, and it slightly broke his heart
"I don't want you to think that I did, because I didn't, ok? I wasn't mad I just got a little frustrated s'all" Fred sighed
"at me?" Hugo wiped his nose
"no, not at you, I could never be mad at you, Hughie" Fred cleared his throat, getting up to sit on his bed, bringing Hugo onto his lap
"then why'd you take my toy?" he sobbed in Fred's arms
"I just wanted you to focus on the trick, I'm sorry" Fred apologised, kissing his head
"but I wanted you to play with my truck with me"
it was only then when Fred realised that Hugo always asked Fred to look at his toy when they were out.
while Fred was setting off all of the pranks and sparks every time, Hugo was sat down, playing with his toy, asking for Fred to look at what he was doing
Hugo wanted as much attention from Fred as Fred wanted from him, but they wanted different things
he realised that Hugo's idea of fun is playing with toys with his dad and it made Fred mad at himself, knowing that Hugo would be sad every time he would turn him down, making him watch what he was doing instead
all he wanted was for Hugo to have fun with him, not understanding that Hugo only wanted to have fun with him
Fred felt more ashamed in himself, not only was what he did for a living not good enough for Hugo, but he turned him down when he wanted to spend time with him in his own way
"I'm sorry Buddy, we'll play with your truck next time" Fred wiped Hugo's tears
"promise?" Hugo spoke softly, holding out his small pinky
"promise" Fred laughed, trying to interlock pinkies with him
-
as the years went on, Hugo began more curious in what Fred does for a living, he begged him to show him more and they went out every weekend to set fireworks and play pranks of random people they came across
Fred didn't know where the sudden interest in it came from but he enjoyed every second of it, his son was proud of what he does
he smiles at the fireworks, he laughs at the stupid tricks and he even stares at all the products, suggesting things that Fred could make, causing Fred to chuckle and say he'd think of it, knowing that the product wouldn't work.
“Alright class,” Professor Sprout called. “Today we will be learning about Puffapods. Could anyone tell me what a Puffapod could do?” Lacy instantly raised her hand with a smile on her face. It was no question that Herbology and Care from Magical Creatures were her favorite two classes. “Miss. Nightshade.”
“Puffapods are known to cause dizziness to people, and are able to be used against a troll due to the fact that they are allergic to them.”
“Excellent as always, Miss. Nightshade. It’s good to have you back.”
“Thank you, Professor.” Lacy smiled.
“Great job, Lace.”
“Thanks, Freddie.” Lacy smiled.
“All right class I want you to be working on a paper over Puffapods to give me on Monday at the start of class.” Professor Sprout explained. “Miss. Nightshade, may I speak to you for a moment?”
“Yes, Professor?” Lacy asked, when everyone left the greenhouse.
“How would you like to be my helper this year? You could tend to the plants, and come here anytime you'd like, as well as help other students when required.”
“I would love that! Thank you so much, Professor!”
“Oi, Lace,” Fred asked at lunch that day.
“Yeah, Freddie?” Lacy asked, turning to look at the red-haired boy sitting behind her at the Gryfindor table.
“Could you help me with my Herbology paper? I know nothing about Puffpods.”
“Puffapods,” Lacy cut in. “Not Puffpods.”
“See, that just proves my point. I know nothing about this.”
“All right, meet me at the library tonight and I’ll help you.”
That night Lacy skipped dinner and went straight to the library finishing up her homework from the day.
“Are you ready to help me?” Fred asked, looking down at her with a smile on his face.
Lacy looked up and smiled at him, seeing the plate of food in his hand. “You just couldn’t get enough food at dinner?”
“No, I ate,” Fred explained, sitting down in the chair next to her. “This is for you. I noticed you weren't there and thought you would be hungry.”
“Thanks, Freddie.” Lacy smiled, closing her textbook. “So where should we start?”
“I don’t know, maybe what it does?”
“Brilliant. Puffapod seeds can be found in mostly plants or teas–”
“Wait, I thought you said they make people dizzy.”
“A raw Puffapod, yes. If it is in something then it’s fine. It’s actually a very safe and livegive plant.”
“Gosh this is so confusing!” Fred whined.
“Oh shut it!” Lacy ordered. “We’ve only just begun!”
“Are you trying to bore me to sleep?”
“Fred, seriously you need to get the paper done.”
“Why can’t you just write it for me? I know you’re already done with yours.”
“Freddie, I’m not going to write your paper for you, but I can help you.”

Summary: After a nice day in town, you get suspicious when you get home. It's quiet, too quiet, at least when you were expecting three Weasley's.
Prompts: The fire didn’t start itself! Which one of you did it? + This is why we can’t have nice things.
“I had such a lovely time with you. We have to do this more often”, you smiled as you hugged your best friend. You had gone out with her for breakfast and a little shopping trip around town. After having given birth to your third child only four months prior, Fred had insisted that you needed some quality time to yourself. So, you had decided on having a girl’s day with just your best friend, yourself and of course your baby girl. Fred had insisted that he could take care of all three kids on his own, but since you were still breastfeeding your daughter, you wanted to take her with you.
“Oh definitely! Tell the boys and Fred I said hello”, she responded, stroking a finger over your daughter’s chubby cheek, before apparating.
You followed suit and apparated onto your front yard. After marrying and finding out that you were pregnant with your first son, Fred and you had decided to move close to where his parents lived. You loved the close proximity to the Weasley’s and the fact that you did not need to disguise your use of magic.
“Did you have fun today my love?”, you asked the small girl in your arms. In response she only gave you a toothless smile. You loved your boys to death, but you had to admit that it had been nice to spend a quiet, relaxing day without the two little pranksters. As you had expected, both of your boys had taken after Fred and George. And even though they weren’t twins, they had a very close sibling bond, pulling each other along in their mischief.
You held your daughter close to your chest, while rummaging around your purse for your key. Of course, you could just use your wand to open doors, but some things were just a matter of habit. Once inside, you got rid of your shoes, coat and the baby sling you had used for your daughter. “Should we go see what Daddy and your brothers are up to, hm?”, you asked stroking the bright red fluff of hair on the baby’s head.
And then it dawned on you. It was quiet. Too quiet. Not that you wouldn’t appreciate a nice quiet welcome, but this was just not normal for your boys. Brows furrowed you walked through the hall. The only sounds you heard were your own footsteps and the little coos your baby was making. You looked into the kitchen and the dining room, but your husband and sons weren’t there. You hadn’t heard footsteps from the upstairs and if they would have been in the garden, you surely would have heard them upon arriving. The only room left was the living room. The door was shut, but you could her soft whispers from the other side.
Upon turning the doorknob and opening the door, you were greeted with your three boys huddling close together, whispering about something. They had not heard you enter, so you cleared your throat.
Immediately all of their heads snapped into your direction.
“Mommy! We didn’t hear you come back”, your five-year old son greeted you, while giving you a hug. Your younger son followed, bobbing his head in approval.
Fred did not move from his spot, giving you a warm smile. You raised your eyebrows at him, it was obvious that he was trying to hide something.
“So did you have a fun time with Daddy while I was gone?”, you asked your boys, stepping closer to where Fred was standing. Both boys began to tell you about their day at home, talking over one another, making it hard to understand what exactly they were telling you.
“…and then he made us promise that we would not tell you about the side table…”
Your head snapped back to Fred, eyes wide. Now you knew why he wasn’t moving from his spot in the living room. His frame blocked your view from said side table.
“And what exactly happened to the table?”, you asked your husband in a calm voice.
“Well honey you see, it was…”, Fed began to explain, but you shoved him aside, wanting to get an idea of the damage done. Where once there was a beautiful wooden side table for the sofa, was now a small pile of ashes. You tried to calm down, reminding yourself that you were still holding on to your baby daughter.
“Does one of you care to explain why the table is completely burned down?” You gave Fred and your sons a pointy look. All of their faces turned red like tomatoes and all three of them became very interested in the spots on the floor.
“It somehow…just lit on fire?”, Fred shrugged and gave you an apologetic smile. You couldn’t believe what you just heard.
“The fire didn’t start itself! Which one of you did it?”, you pressed again, your voice louder this time. Your daughter, caught by surprise by your increased voice, started to whine in your arms. You quickly started to rock her, not wanting her to get upset, since she was the only member of your family that was not responsible for the mess in front of you.
“We promise we don’t know how it happened Mommy. It just burned all of the sudden. Daddy tried to repair it, but it won’t work.” You sighed in frustration. You were quite sure that Fred and the boys had been playing with some fireworks and that was how the fire started. It wouldn’t be the first time. You had told them time and time again that fireworks were no toys and that if they insisted on lighting them up, they should do so in the garden.
“I promise I will buy you a new one tomorrow. I really tried to repair it. We’re sorry”, Fred continued and your sons nodded vigorously beside him. You nodded and let yourself fall down on the sofa, excepting that a new side table would be the only solution.
“At least you had a nice day, right?”, your husband laughed, but turned quite immediately after you gave him a dark stare.
“Okay boys, I think we should let Mommy rest a little bit. Come on, it’s nearly bed time”, he quickly said, ushering the boys out of the living room and up the stairs to help them get ready for bed.
Your head rested on the back of the sofa, you looked down at your daughter, now completely content, munching on her on small hands, drooling all over herself.
“And that is why we can’t have nice things, you know”, you told her, receiving a little giggle in return.
“Just please promise me, you will not turn out to be such a troublemaker. Three of those is already plenty enough.”
summary: you’re home alone with the kids while Fred’s away at a business dinner
contains: fluff
……….
Distant thunder rumbled as lightning began to strike, lighting the entirety of your bedroom for seconds at a time. Thunderstorm, of course, you thought to yourself as you sat up in bed and brought a hand up to your forehead. You knew it was only a matter of seconds before your son, Phoenix (5) and daughter, Violet (3) came running in frightened with the forming storm.
So much for early bedtime, you thought now, exhaling a breath of tiredness. With Fred gone for the night on a business dinner with partners and associates, you thought it was a good opportunity to get the kids into bed earlier than usual so that you yourself could catch up on some sleep but that was proving itself to be easier said than done. You had already had enough trouble getting them to bed in the first place with Fred not being home, that was not even half an hour ago and of course now, with your seemingly obvious lack of luck, a thunderstorm was occurring.
“Mama! Mama! Mama!” Phoenix called to you as he came running in, Violets whimpering not far behind.
Without a word, you lifted up the covers next to you to let them slide in. “It’s okay my loves,” you sleepily comforted them as they cozied up in the bed; Violet snuggling next to you with Phoenix clinging to her on the other side. You extended your arm out around them and cuddled them into you, stroking Phoenix’s hair gently, just waiting for them to feel safe enough to sleep again.
Thankfully, it seemed Violet just needed you close to get through the storm seeing as she fell asleep rather quickly then; this however was not the case with Phoenix. Each lightning strike and rumble of thunder continued to make him jump with little eyes squeezing tightly too. You didn’t blame him as you yourself hated thunderstorms but of course the mama bear in you had to put fear aside with Fred, your own usual storm protector, being gone.
“When is daddy gonna be here,” your little boy questioned, remembering his dad that he had been missing and asking about earlier.
You chuckled a bit, “My darling boy, it’s only been about 30 minutes since I first put you to bed, he won’t be home until an hour or two more so let’s try to sleep okay? He’ll be here when you wake up,” you assured, stroking his little cheek.
“Mama, I don’t like the thunder,” he stated as if it was new information.
“I don’t either love bug, but you know what? You make me less scared…you’re just like your daddy. You make me feel safe,” you said to him, booping his nose.
“I do?” he questioned.
“Yep. I think Violet feels safer with you too, she fell asleep so fast cuddled here between you and me.”
Phoenix looked down at his little sister sleeping peacefully and shyly smiled. Lightning lit the room again making him gasp and look up at you. The thunder accompanying it boomed, making even you yourself shut your eyes and squint your face- suddenly though you felt a little hand reach for one of yours…
“It’s okay mama, I’m here.”
You chuckled and exhaled, “You sir, are truly like your father. I love you, thank you baby,” you said leaning over to kiss his cheek.
After a couple more rounds of loud thunder the booms began distancing but the heavy rain just wouldn’t let up. Luckily that’s all it was now though, just rain, so you got an idea to help Phoenix sleep. You grabbed your wand and casted a spell you used to use on them as babies; glowing stars and sheeps then appeared and moved slowly across the ceiling back and forth. You heard Phoenix giggle a little, probably at the fact that he felt he was too old for this but nonetheless it worked, he fell asleep and eventually you did too.
——————————————————————————
At around 11 p.m, Fred arrived. He set his keys down at the little table at the front door and then made his way up the stairs. The house was silent and dark, something he expected as he knew you’d all be in bed by the time he’d manage to get home, he just didn’t know he’d find you all in the same bed together.
Upon opening the door to the bedroom, he sighed and felt a tug in his heart at the sight before him; his little family all comfortably sleeping together. Fred hated that owning the shop along with his brother called for dinners and meetings that were at times far and late but he was thankful he had you; the most perfect, understanding wife.
He slipped off his shoes and coat and loosened his tie as he went over to your side of the bed. He crouched down and caressed the hair near your forehead. Your eyes then fluttered and met with his.
“Sorry love, didn’t mean to wake you,” he whispered.
You shook your head a bit as a small smile formed at your lips, the one that always formed when he got back home from work each day. “It’s okay baby, how did the dinner go?”
“We can talk about it tomorrow love, just go back to sleep.”
You smiled and pulled him in by his undone tie for a kiss.
“It was wet outside, did it rain?” he asked when your lips separated.
You chuckled dryly, “A thunderstorm, yes.”
“Oh darling,” he said upsettingly, he knew you and the kids were not fond of thunderstorms and realized now that what he thought had been a planned, cozy night in bed for you three was actually caused by an unfortunate reason. “I’m sorry, if I would have known there was a storm coming I would have canceled tonight. Helped you calm the kids, helped calm you.”
You shook your head a bit and reached a hand out to stroke Freds cheek, “Don’t be ridiculous, I’m a grown woman what’s one storm..and besides, that little man over there just might have taken your spot as my personal protector tonight,” you said with raised eyebrows and a smirk.
“Really?” he said astonishingly with a smile, looking over at the small boy.
You nodded as he removed your hand from his cheek and held it. “I’d hate to think someone is taking my favorite job,” he playfully said, giving your hand a kiss.
You giggled quietly, “You know that’ll never be true. But please play along if he mentions it to you tomorrow.”
He winked, “Of course.”
You then lovingly pulled him in for another kiss.
“Mmm,” he hummed mid kiss. “Sleep love. I’m gonna shower, I’ll be in bed soon.”
“Okay, goodnight,” you said, jutting your lips out for one more kiss.
Fred happily obliged, “Goodnight, beautiful,” he said, getting up and heading for the in suite bathroom.
——————————————————————————
After finishing up his shower, Fred came out dressed for bed and slipped in under the covers in the empty space next to Phoenix. He was happy to look over and see you sleeping soundly as well as his little Violet and Phoenix..or so he thought, for the movement must have woken Phoenix as he quickly turned from facing inwards to facing him.
Phoenix’s little face beamed at the sight of his dad, “Daddy guess what!” he exclaimed in a whisper.
“What buddy?” Fred said, brushing down some of the boy’s hair.
“I protected mama from the storm for you…”
Fred felt his heart melting upon hearing his son’s words. He then looked over at you in your sleeping state and smiled.
“You’re a brave boy Phoenix, thank you,” Fred praised, knowing Phoenix himself was scared of storms. “I’m glad I can count on you to protect mama for me when I can’t.”
Phoenix smiled proudly and like a little worm, cuddled into his dad. Fred softly caressed his son’s back in hopes he’d drift back to sleep as he himself looked up to the ceiling in absolute contentment; what more could he want in this world? His family was perfect and he was as happy as any dad/husband could be. <3

The first time Fred Weasley thought "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life" - which he could remember - was in a summer of 1985 when Bill and Charlie taught him and George how to play Exploding Snap. The second was when he started his studies at Hogwarts in September 1989. The third was the following year when he and George were accepted into the Gryffindor’s Quidditch team as beaters. The fourth time was on a winter's afternoon in 1993 when he had his first kiss. The fifth was when the dream of opening a joke shop with his twin had become even closer to reality after Harry gave them the Triwizard Tournament prize. The sixth was in a 1995 night when he lost his virginity. The seventh time was the day Weasley's Wizard Wheezes opened at Diagon Alley in 1996. The eighth was in May 1998 with the defeat of Lord Voldemort. The ninth was when he met you on a spring morning in 2001. The tenth time was when you agreed to go on a date with him a few days later. And since then, Fred Weasley had lost the count.
But he remembered the most special days.
The day you kissed. The first night you spent together. The lunch his mother prepared at the Burrow so that you could be introduced to the Weasley family. When you finally said "I love you" to each other. That afternoon you agreed to have a picnic, but you didn't check if it would rain and came home soaked. The next morning that Fred woke up sick and you made him some soup. The time you two couldn't sleep then you stayed up all night talking while drinking hot chocolate. When Fred asked you to marry him on the first day of a new year. That summer day in 2004 when you and Fred said "I do" and made a vow to love each other for all eternity. The dinner where you revealed that you were pregnant with your first child together. The day Maeve Weasley was born and your world had changed completely. And since then, Fred Weasley went to sleep every day thinking, "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life."
He was enchanted with every little moment.
Fred was thrilled the moment he hold Maeve for the first time and nested her in his arms; he pressed a delicate kiss on her forehead, feeling that newborn baby smell and watching her sleep peacefully, finally realizing that she was his baby - his baby to care for, to protect, to love; his daughter.
He remembered the first time Maeve opened a toothless smile, that she babbled something in the baby’s language, when she ate solid food when she was six-months-old and ended up with banana puree - made by mommy - all over her face, the way she clapped her hands when she heard Hermione singing muggle’s nursery rhymes, when she took her first steps two weeks after her one-year birthday. Fred was not ashamed to admit that he cried when Maeve first called him "Daddy", that he got emotional every time she lay on his chest and fell asleep there as if it was the most comfortable place in the world, of how he couldn't stop smiling silly while watching her dance "head, shoulders, knees and toes". Since Maeve was born, Fred Weasley thought he couldn't be happier.
But you got pregnant again; and in 2008, Alexander Weasley was born - better known as "lil’ Alex".
And Fred was, once again, in heaven.
Just like happened with Maeve, he was enchanted by his son from the moment he heard that little weeping for the first time; he couldn't help but be amazed to see that the e/c color of your irises were reflected in Alex's eyes, that his nose was very similar to his father's and that he had much more hair than his sister when she was born - and once again, he had fallen in love with that newborn baby smell.
Fred's heart melted completely when he saw the scene of you in bed holding Alex in your arms while Maeve was sitting next to you, her neck stretching so she could see her little brother more closely; he opened a broad smile with that vision, the vision of his family - his to care for, to protect, to love, his family.
That day, Fred sat next to you on the bed, taking Maeve on his lap and placing his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to his body; he remembered the way you looked at him with a tender smile decorating your face and said: "you and I make beautiful babies," but before he could answer, Maeve exclaimed: "but Alex looks like smashed potato!”. Fred used his free hand to tickle his daughter briefly, who let out an angelic laugh and squirmed in his arms, saying: "not the tickle monster, Daddy!", he laughed once again, kissing Maeve's fluffy cheek; his heart seemed to barely fit inside his chest of how much love he felt at that moment. Then, your head rested on his shoulder, Fred turned his head to give you a long kiss on the temple; you, in turn, lifted your face towards your husband, sealing your lips in a very short but passionate kiss - passion for the beautiful family you built together, for the life full of joys that awaited you and without forgetting, of course, the overwhelming passion you still felt for each other.
It wasn't always easy.
Despite the joys that fatherhood brought in your lives, conciliating raising your children with your jobs and the marital relationship was something that sometimes you failed at. Sometimes you fought for silly reasons, other times for more serious issues, but you never forgot that in the first place you loved each other.
The worst fight you and Fred had was when the two of you were facing difficulties at work, and without even noticing it, you started to take your frustrations out on each other; you both spent a whole day not talking - just talking about your children - but in the late afternoon, when you and the redhead were distracted with work matters while Maeve and Alex were playing in the middle of the living room, your daughter shouted cheerfully: "Mom, Dad, look! Alex likes when I dance!", the two of you immediately dropped the papers you were reading and watched the scene before your eyes: Maeve - with 3 years-old - was making extravagant ballet moves and Alex - who had just completed 8 months - was sitting on the fuzzy carpet, applauding his sister with a smile of few teeth decorating his face. At that moment, your eyes met with Fred's, and as if you were having a mental conversation, you two agreed: "No work in this world was more important than this: Maeve dancing ballet while Alex applauded". When the children slept, you had a long talk and made up in the best possible way: in bed.
And you were fine. Better than just fine; you and Fred were happy with the life you built together. And even if some days weren't so good, the redhead would still sleep thinking that he had lived the happiest day of his life because it was one more day by your side while raising your children together, because it was one more day with his family.
Today, Fred felt exhausted; he and George stayed until later at the shop because they needed to make an inventory of their products, and even though they had several employees so they didn't need to overload themselves with work, that task was something they didn't trust anyone else to do but each other.
As soon as he arrived at his home through Floo Network, Fred was surprised that there was nobody in the living room and that no three-years-old girl jumped on his arms saying: "Daddy, Daddy, you're home!", but he heard laughter coming from the upper floor. He took off his shoes and socks, leaving them in the corner, and went upstairs; Fred followed that familiar sound and stopped in front of the bathroom suite you two shared, which was with the door ajar.
For a moment, he allowed himself to watch the scene: inside of a huge white ceramic bathtub, were his wonderful children and sitting on a stool right next to it while holding Alex - who had already completed one year old - with both hands, you were wearing only a simple t-shirt and cotton shorts, your hair was in a tight bun on the top of your head; you were laughing while looking at Maeve, who was pretending to be a fish and imitating Dory's line in "Finding Nemo" when was speaking whale - you two really thanked Hermione for all the childish entertainment she introduced to you over the years -; the little girl was talking to Alex - who was supposed to be the whale.
"Ah, so you’re there" Fred said with a broad smile on his face; Maeve exclaimed an excited "daddy", splashing drops of water on all directions when she jumped. "I thought I was abandoned" he joked, walking towards the bathtub, and squatting close to where you were. "Hi, baby."
"Hi, love" you answered, smiling sweetly and leaning slightly towards your husband so you can greet him with a peck on the lips.
Fred also greeted his children, saying tenderly: "Hi, little princess. Hi, little prince"; you two chatted distractedly while watching your children play in the bathtub - Maeve still pretended to be a fish and Alex played with a rubber duck.
"How was your day?" he asked.
"Normal" you shrugged. "Nothing new, which is a relief."
"That's good. And how are our little angels?"
"They've had dinner, played a lot and now they're taking a bath to go to bed. Did you have dinner?"
"Yes, I ate something at the shop with George." Fred placed a hand on your knee, squeezing it gently. "I'm sorry for staying..."
"Don't apologize" you interrupted him. Your husband had never helped you to take care of the children; he had never helped you because that was his job too - he wasn’t “helping” you; he was taking care of his kids. Fred never expected compliments or medals for putting his children on bed, for giving them food, for waking up in the middle of the night when they were crying or for changing diapers; he knew that those were his responsibilities as much as they were yours. "I know" you sent him a reassuring smile. Days like this when you and Fred didn't do those things together were very rare - after all, you were partners for life.
"Thank you" your husband smiled.
"And what about your day? Could you finish the inventory?" you asked.
He let out a tired sigh, watching Alex chewing on the rubber duck. "Well... yes, but not everything. I still need..."
"Daddy!" Maeve demanded his attention, interrupting him. "Look what I can do!" she said before immersing her head in the water for a short second before pulling it up again, her hair sticking to her cheeks as she wiped the water off her face. "See?" she opened her eyes and looked at her father, waiting for his answer.
The redhead didn't take long to react, quickly applauding enthusiastically. "Wow, princess! You truly are a little fish! Did you see her, Mommy?" he looked at you.
"I did, Daddy!" you smiled. "Our little Maeve already is a big girl!"
Fred got rid of his jacket and tie, rolled up his sleeves to his elbow and sat on the bathroom floor, standing next to the bathtub as he listened intently to his daughter tell him about her fun day with Grandma Molly and Grandpa Arthur; Maeve said that Uncle Harry and Ginny showed up for a visit, so she played with her cousins all afternoon - she was asleep when you arrived at the Burrow right after work, but Alex was very agitated.
You both took the opportunity that the little girl was very distracted and started to give your children a bath; you were soaping Alex's body while Fred washed Maeve's hair. He took the handheld shower and used it to rinse the shampoo, being careful to not let the foam fall in her eyes or ear. So, you two changed; now, you washed Maeve's body while Fred poured the baby shampoo on Alex's hair. Your husband stayed on his knees, leaning over the bathtub to hold his son firmly with one arm while using the other to give him a bath; the one-year-old was still very focused on chewing the rubber duck.
Fred laughed. "You really like this toy, don't you, big boy?" he said to his son, who looked at his direction with his big e/c eyes. "This lil' duck is tasty, isn't it?" he said in a higher pitch and musical tone. Alex pushed the rubber toy away from his mouth just to laugh at his father, bouncing in his arms. "Yeah, you like it," the redhead smiled. "Maybe you can tell Grandpa Arthur what is the function of these rubber ducks, huh?"
You were washing Maeve's armpits when you heard the sound of your son laughing; you looked at that direction and a broad smile appeared on your face as you watched Fred talking to Alex about his toy. Then, your daughter also laughed.
"Mommy!" she said between laughs. "You're tickling me!"
"I'm sorry, honey," you said with a smile, pulling the little girl close so you could give her a kiss on the cheek.
Minutes later, the children were properly dressed in their pajamas and Fred went to take a bath. And the scene he found when he returned to his room was even more adorable than the one in the bathroom: you were with your back against the headboard and, on each arm, you nested Maeve and Alex while singing them a lullaby as they were drinking hot milk from their bottle.
His daughter was the one who saw him leaning against the door, she demanded that he come to bed with you, and as soon as Fred did, Maeve left her position to lay her head on her father's chest - now you and Fred were lying on the edge of the bed and your children in the middle of you two.
"Daddy, can you tell us a story?" the little girl asked.
"I don't know, honey," he said. "Mommy was singing."
"But the song's over, isn't it, Mommy?" your daughter looked at you.
"Yes, dear" you nodded, opening a little smile.
"Will you, Daddy? Please?" Maeve made a pout. "Alex also wants you to tell us a story," she looked at her little brother, who was almost asleep on his mother's arms. "Yes, Daddy, tell us a story," she said in a soft tone - as if it was the little boy talking - "see? He wants it too!"
You both laughed at your daughter's little trick. "Well, Daddy, it seems they want you to tell us a story," you shrugged, still with a smile on your face.
"How can I deny a request from the three loves of my life, huh?" Fred smiled, squeezing Maeve in his arms and giving her a kiss on the forehead.
You listened carefully as your husband told the story of two fire-haired brothers who fought against a terrible one-eyed monster and managed to obtain a precious magical item: a map that led them to various adventures around the world. And when the two brothers discovered how to get to the Candy Land, you and Fred noticed that your children were already deeply asleep in your arms.
You both shared a look and a smile. A passionate look at the love that existed in your family. A proud smile for the life you had together.
"I love you" your husband whispered at you.
"I love you too" you whispered back.
And before Fred fell asleep, he thought, "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life."

As far as mornings go, this one, it was pretty normal. I’d woken up, had breakfast with my husband while we spoke about how business was going with the shop before he sped off, half a slice of toast sticking out of his mouth as he realised he was running late, again. The only thing that was different, just a tiny thing, was the pregnancy test currently sitting in the bin in the bathroom covered in tissues.
As it turns out, I didn’t have food poisoning from the chinese food Fred brought home last week, it was morning sickness. I hadn’t thought anything of it, I assumed it was just an upset stomach, until I realised that I’d missed my last period. I was pregnant. I remember phoning my mum to tell her the news, no idea how to process it on my own.
“This is wonderful news darling! What does Fred think?”
“He’s at work, I haven’t had the chance to tell him yet.”
“Well let me know when you do! Oh this is amazing news. I’m so happy for you both!”
“Thanks mum. I better go just now, I need to get started on dinner. Send dad my love?”
“Of course dear, talk to you soon”
That was yesterday. My husband is still none the wiser.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to tell Fred, I did, but when he walked through the door, greeting me with a kiss before walking off to take a shower, I froze. When we were dating in Hogwarts, we had spoken of how nice it would be for us to start a family together, laughing at the thought of a mini Fred running around causing mischief. But that was an idea for ages from then. Sure, it’s been a good couple of years since our school days, the joke shop was thriving, Fred and I are as happy as can be. The topic of children however, just hadn’t cropped up yet, and I was still unsure of his reaction. I know I can’t hide it forever though, I just had to find a way to tell him.
Which is what led me to a small shop in London, full of baby items. There were prams in the windows and a variety of different onesies hanging above them. My heart warmed at the mothers and fathers wandering the shop, fathers holding their babies, mothers admiring small dresses with a hand gently stroking her bump that was showing in their maternity clothes.
I walked towards some of the onesies that had phrases printed on them, “My mummy is the best.” “world’s most expensive alarm clock” and my personal favourite, “of course i’m awesome, look at my dad.”, that one receiving a small chuckle as I glanced at them. I decided on a plan of how to tell Fred about the pregnancy, picking up a onesie and paying for it. I walked out of the shop with a smile on my face, feeling a bit more confident in my announcement.
-----------------
“Hey Love! I’m home!” Fred called, shutting the door and making his way into kitchen towards me to press a quick kiss to my forehead, wrapping his arms around my waist to hold me close to him.
“Hi babe, how was your day?” I smiled, placing my hands around his neck in return.
“It was good, some kid wore one of the headless hats and ran around pretending he was a ghost, which gave his mum a scare.” He spoke, trying to be serious, but I could see the sparkle of mischief in his eye and the physical pain he was in trying to not burst out laughing.
“Ahh, I see a future Weasley in the works”
“It appears so! Little devil. I’m just gonna go for a quick shower then i’ll come back and help with the laundry?” He nodded to the pile of clothes I was currently folding.
“Sounds good, thank you.” I leant up slightly to press a kiss to his lips, the faint smell of fireworks taking over my senses, it felt like being wrapped in a blanket. The smell mixed with his thumbs tracing small patterns on my waist was so comforting
As I heard his footsteps retreat into the bathroom and the sound of the shower beginning to run, I quickly worked to put my plan in action. I pulled the tiny white onesie reading ‘Hello Daddy, I can’t wait to meet you!’ In black cursive, out of the shopping bag hidden behind the counter and placed it in between a tshirt and a pair of jeans in the pile of laundry. All while I can feel the cleaned pregnancy test in the back of my jean pocket, prodding into me every so often.
When I heard the bedroom door close, it felt like a countdown was going off inside my head, it won’t be long now, life changing moment incoming, not a big deal, it’s only a small human. Thoughts running around my head, most of them positive, some, not so much, now thinking of ways that this could go completely upside down.
“You alright love?” Fred came up beside me, stroking my arm soothingly, eyes furrowed in concern.
“Sorry! I’m okay, just thinking of what to do for dinner tonight.”
“Probably best to stay away from that chinese takeaway, huh?” He chuckled, beginning to fold some t shirts at the top of the pile, I decided to distract myself with getting a glass of water, thinking it best I don’t stand and stare inevitably worrying myself even more.
“Oh.” He mumbled, causing me to choke slightly on my water. “I think George and Angelina must’ve left some baby clothes from the last time they were here.” My eyebrows furrowed slightly, slightly confused at the conclusion he came to. I turned on my heels and saw that he had left it to the side, back side up.
“Fred.”
“Hmm?” He looked up, eyes meeting mine.
“Turn it over”
“Turn it over?” He flipped the t-shirt he was holding
“The onesie, love”
His eyes widened in realisation, putting the t-shirt down, looking down slightly embarrassed at his confusion.
The closer his hand got to picking the small clothing up, the tighter the knot in my stomach got, this is it. Finally happening. His face morphed into one of confusion when reading it, looking between me and the babygrow, doing it a couple of more times before his mouth formed an ‘o’ shape and his eyebrows raised so high I thought they were going to join his hairline.
“You- we’re-”
“Yeah”
“Pregnant? With a baby?” He pointed to my stomach.
I decided to pull the test from the back of my pocket and place it on the counter beside him. He looked down, my head racing with thoughts now and my heart beating like crazy. It wasn’t until a huge grin appeared on his face that it started to slow down. Before I knew it, he’d picked me up and spun me in a circle, emitting a squeal to leave my lips. His lips soon meeting mine in multiple small pecks and ending with one neverending kiss. I could feel his lips turn into a smile, ultimately making me smile in return before he pulled away, hands still firm on my hips.
“This. Is. Incredible.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely! Are you not pleased?”
“I am! I was just anxious about how you’d feel about it given we haven’t spoken about it and-” He cut me off with another kiss, pouring all of his love into it.
“I’m over the moon, love. I’m gonna be a dad!” He laughed, my giggles joining him, nothing but happiness shared between us.

“FRED!” you screamed through labored breaths as you continued fighting off the pain that spread from your lower abdomen. “Ahhhhh WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?”
Fred’s hand was clutched tightly in yours, oh so tightly, your grip crushing his fingers as you refused to relinquish your hold. He stayed close to your side as the waves of excruciating pain ripped through your body. He felt horrible for the state you were in, but nothing could cloud the excitement at what this day would result in. “Now now, my dove, this was both of our doing, so let’s not get too angry at me, please.”
You turned your head and stared piercingly at him, but recognizing the slight fear dancing between his eyes, you softened your gaze, but not your grip. “I’m sorry, please, just GET THIS THING OUT OF ME!” You cried out again as Fred shot his gaze toward the end of the bed.
Your midwife, a sweet older woman named Caroline crouched at your feet ready to bring your first child into the world. She was highly recommended by a few coworkers of yours and she was an absolute angel when helping you prepare for this particular moment in time. Yet nothing could truly prepare you for just what would come.
Fred reached his hand up to brush the sweat-soaked hair from your face, his touch sending a wave of comfortable warmth through you, filling you with a momentary calm amidst the storm. “Any minute now, Y/N, you’re doing so wonderfully.” Fred leaned down to press a loving kiss to your forehead.
In the minutes that passed, you pushed harder than ever before to deliver your very first child. When you laid eyes on the fragile little being in Caroline’s arms, you leaned your head back in relief as you began breathing normally once more. You had done it. You brought a child into the world. Your heart was filled with all the love you could muster.
Carefully, Caroline cleaned the newborn and laid them gently into Fred’s arms, his eyes positively lighting up at the new human he held. Caroline looked between the two of you, “congratulations, you have a little boy.”
Without warning, a fresh wave of tears burst through your eyes at the news. A boy. “It’s a boy,” you heard Fred whisper as he still hadn’t torn his gaze from the little one.
“And do you have a name picked out yet?” Caroline asked with the proudest smile while she held a glass of water for you to sip slowly. You had worked up quite a sweat and needed a refresher.
“Arthur”, Fred finally lifted his eyes to meet yours, “after my father.”
“Arthur Remus, after your father and one of our heroes,” you added on, pride and love welling in your heart as you watched your husband holding his new son to his chest.
“That sounds so lovely, I’m sure that he-”
“Aaaghhh!!” Caroline’s words were cut short by your sudden outburst. “What’s happening? Caroline, it hurts!” You swatted your hand to your side, making connection with Caroline’s arm, which sent her sprawling into action. She reclaimed her place at the foot of your bed. Fred looked on with concern as he clutched tightly to his son.
“Oh my,” Caroline let out a heavy breath before looking up to where Fred stood and then up to you. “Y/N, dear, I’m going to need you to keep doing what you just did for little Arthur, okay?”
You looked at her in utter confusion, fear washing over you. “Why, what is it? Is there something wrong?” Fred reached a hand out to hold yours, a small gesture, but enough to keep you grounded.
“It seems there’s another baby coming.”

*** END OF CHILDBIRTH SCENE
*
“Shhhh, shhh, Daddy’s right here.” Fred bounced and floated around the room with his tiny infant in his arms, trying his best to send Arthur to sleep. But your son was already learning to be just as stubborn as his father could get.
“Here, let me take Arthur, he may need a feeding.” You reached your hands out to pluck the little blanketed being from Fred’s arms. “Yes, you’re probably hungry, aren’t you?” Your baby voice elicited a laugh out of Fred. You shot him a playful glare, “what like you don’t do it too? Why don’t you check Minnie’s diaper before we put them to bed?”
“Sure, make me do the dirty work,” he retorted, earning him a sharp glare from you.
“Do I need to remind you how these two came into this world?” You spoke the words with a faux attitude while simultaneously smiling and wiggling Arthur’s little hands to distract him.
“No no, I was there, no need to relive that.” Fred crossed the room to the small bassinet along the wall. Reaching down, an enthusiastic smile spread across his face as he reached down to lift his tiny daughter out and into his arms. With a similar baby voice, he cooed to her, “does someone need a nappy change?” As he lifted her up and investigated, he made a sour face, “oh, I think you do, indeed.” He turned to face you at the sound of your light laughter flitting through the room. “Okay, okay, fine, who doesn’t use a baby voice with someone as cute as these two?” His eyes lit up with joy just thinking about his little twins, the lights of his life.
*
“Let me at them!” Lee Jordan pushed his way through the front door of your little home as soon as Fred had opened the door. You had invited him over to visit your children as soon as he returned from his business trip. With Fred taking time off from the joke shop to help out with the twins, Lee took on a few extra responsibilities and had even begun taking business trips to advertise and sell the Weasley products to witches and wizards around the world.
As soon as he laid eyes on the twins laying one in each of your arms, he stopped in his place and stared at the two little bundles. “Fred, you said they were cute, but not this cute,” he slowly walked over toward you and sat down on the edge of the sofa. “Can I-?” He held his arms out, asking to hold one of them. That’s why he was here, after all.
“Of course you can. Fred, do you mind helping?” You nodded your head at him to come help transfer one of the babes into his best mate’s arms. So Fred gently lifted little Minnie and handed her over to Lee, who looked both eager and fearful over the pressure to hold such a tiny being. You filled him in, “this is Minnie Lea Weasley.”
Lee’s eyes immediately snapped to yours as you spoke the name. “You named her after me?” He couldn’t believe his ears.
“Is your name Minerva you fool?” Fred laughed it off, teasing his friend of so many years.
“Fred, don’t be like this.” You scolded your husband. You turned to Lee, “of course she is, although Fred insisted that we spell it differently so he can deny it.” You rolled your eyes at his childishness.
“I don’t even know what to say,” he looked lovingly at the little girl who bore his name within her own.
“Say yes,” you said simply, slyly eyeing your husband as he stood nearby. You looked down and shushed little Arthur who was beginning to wiggle in your grip.
“To what?” Lee furrowed his eyebrows at your words.
“To being their godfather.” Fred shrugged as if this was no big deal at all. In reality, Fred was a right mess waiting for him to arrive, the very thought of asking such an important question weighing heavily on him.
The room was silent. The emotion palpable. “Me?” Lee asked you, as if it was a preposterous invitation.
“Yes you. Well, you and George, of course. With two kids, we wanted double the godfather protection.” Fred looked his best friend square in the eyes. “Lee, you’ve been my best mate for more years than I care to count. The best mate that I chose, I was stuck with George. And there’s no one else I would rather have watching out for our little Minerva and Arthur than you.”
Maybe it was the baby in your arms or maybe it was the scene before you, but a few tears began slipping down your cheeks.
Lee looked between the two of you, tears shimmering in his own eyes, “Fred, Y/N, it would be an honor to be their godfather, thank you. I would hug you both, but I think little Minnie is asleep.” He smiled as he gazed admiringly down at the precious little girl held safely in his grasp.
*
“There’s my darling little girl!” Molly Weasley held her arms out for little Minnie to run to her, her feet carrying her quickly across the living room almost immediately upon walking through the front door. Four years had passed so quickly and you could hardly believe how grown your little ones were becoming.
“Did I hear the door?” Arthur Sr. called from the kitchen as he made his way toward the newest occupants of his home. “And is that my mini me?” He held his arms out quickly as little Arthur ran to his grandfather.
“Hey, Minnie is me!” your daughter corrected from within the tight hold of her grandmother.
“Right you are, princess.” Fred crossed the room and leaned against the wall as he watched his family reunite.
“Uncy Fweddie!” An excited little redheaded girl darted down the stairs and knocked into Fred’s legs, earning a laugh from everyone in the room.
“Roxy, give the man some room to breathe, he just got here.” George followed her into the room and quickly greeted you both with a firm hug.
“And there’s my little munchkins, Minnie, Artie!”
“Uncle George!” Two high-pitched yet boisterous voices yelled out before attacking their uncle in a crushing bear hug.
All of the adults in the room failed at holding back their laughter at the interactions. This really was a tight-knit family and you adored every moment you spent at the Burrow. It was always so warm and welcoming, and the scent of freshly baked goods continually wafted from the kitchen.
“Oh, my dears, I have something I wanted to show to you both.” Molly hurried through the arrangement of furniture and browsed the small bookshelf on the other side of the room. When she found what she had been searching for, she pulled an oversized book out and placed it on the small coffee table. “Come sit, please.” She waved her hand out for you to take a seat on the sofa. So you obliged.
“What is this?” You questioned as your fingers lightly ghosted the cover of the elegantly leather-bound book.
“Mum, is this- is this our old photo album?” Fred grinned as he recognized the ancient tome.
She nodded excitedly, which inspired Fred to quickly whip the book open to the first page. “I’ve added a few updates over the years.”
Before he could look closely, two little bodies appeared in front of him. “What is it? I want to see,” Minnie stood firmly in front of Fred, blocking his view.
Fred gripped Minnie by the waist and pulled her into his lap where she settled nicely and snuggled into his chest. But Artie was not far behind his sister, so you quickly pulled him onto your lap so they each had a good view of the book that was sure to give you a good laugh.
“This here is a book with pictures of me when I was little like you.” Fred lightly pinched Minnie’s side, earning a giggle and a squirm.
“You mean you were this little?” She looked at him with amazement in her eyes. An unheard of idea.
“Even littler.” He flipped to the first page of photos. Molly in her bed, holding two tiny, identical forms. “See here, me and Uncle George right after we were born. You guys were this tiny too.” He flipped another page. An adorable photo of the family, Molly and Arthur with their hands on the shoulders of Bill and Charlie, who each held a twin in their laps, Percy standing by their side. “Mum, I can’t believe you trusted them to hold us. We could have died.” Fred looked up at his mother in mock disbelief.
“Oh, don’t you start with me.” Molly tsked before leaving to attend to something in the kitchen again.
Minnie reached out to flip to another page. Fred and George on their first birthday. “Dad, which one of us is which here?” Fred asked his father, knowing that it would have been quite a challenge to tell them apart that young.
“Oh, that’s easy, this one is you, Fred.” Arthur pointed to the boy on the left. But as he pulled his hand away, you gazed at his face and could see the uncertainty that hid there.
“You’re sure about that?” Fred looked backward and could tell that his father was indeed not sure.
“Your mother was better at telling you apart at that age.” Arthur attempted to defend himself.
“Don’t drag me into this!” You heard shouted from the other room. This was getting interesting.
“Mummy?” Artie looked up at you curiously.
“Yes?”
“Did you and Daddy ever get us confused?” He looked at his sister and back at you. You looked to your husband for help.
“Only once, but then Minnie reached up and pinched my nose and I knew it was her, she’s just like a mini me.” Fred laughed again as he looked at his little princess.
“Good, because I’d hate to find out I’m actually Minnie.” Artie’s confession caused a roaring laugh to fill the room as everyone heard and found his concern hilarious.
Fred quickly flipped the pages ahead a bit until he was older. Hogwarts. He flipped through a few fond memories with friends and stopped when he found the first photo with you. Your quidditch team photo. You were a keeper briefly, until an injury took you out of the game for the season. But it allowed you to meet the twins and you immediately fell for the older of the two.
The following photo album pages consisted of some of your sweetest school memories. Cheering for Fred during future quidditch matches, your Yule Ball photo, which just happened to be the night of your first kiss. You let your eyes drift over to meet Fred’s who remembered the night as fondly as you did. With each page, your little ones asked curious questions about who was there and soon they wondered when they would show up.
“Artie, look here at this photo. This was one of our professors during our fifth year. He eventually became a great friend and mentor for us, as well. Remus Lupin. We chose your middle name to honor him. You know Teddy? It’s his father. He was very brave and we wish he was here to meet you.” Mentioning your old friend and mentor brought a somber mood over the room. But you pushed it aside for the sake of the kids.
There was one more page you needed to show them before you could get to the story they were a part of. Your Hogwarts graduation. In one photo, you stood with Fred, who was beaming proudly at your accomplishment. He and George had decided to leave school early to begin working on the joke shop, but you remained behind to finish what you had been working toward for so many years.
In the second photo, you stood beside your favorite professor and one of the greatest role models of your life. She had instructed you in your education and in your life. She knew Fred and George well and had often dealt with their mischief during their time in school. She later attended your wedding and continued to be a guiding force in your lives.
You looked over toward your daughter, “this is Professor McGonagall. She is a force to be reckoned with and she is one of the bravest and wisest women we know. Minerva Lea Weasley, you were named after this woman right here.” You and Fred both smiled proudly, knowing that in time your daughter would learn more and more about the role Minerva McGonagall played in your lives and the lives of all of those close to you.
“So I was named after Pop and she was named after her?” Artie pointed toward the photo.
“That’s right. Because you are both so important to us, so you deserve to carry the names of people who are important to us. Plus, Percy already took Mum’s name for little Molls.”
“Woooow, she looks so cool! I wanna be like her!” Minnie screeched excitedly, proud to know where her name came from. But her attention was short-lived as she reached out and flipped a few more pages of the aged book Fred still held in his hands.
“Look, Mummy you look so pretty!” Artie squealed this time. And Minnie nodded her head in agreement. You looked down and gasped. It was your wedding photos.
You stood with Fred, your beautiful white gown framing your figure just perfectly. Your hair styled as you always dreamed it would be. Fred looked stunning as ever in his suit. Together you looked like you could take on the world. And with your whole world sitting in your laps, you looked at each other and knew that together you really could take on the world.
