No matter the hair, you will be loved - Dad!Kuroo x Reader
for @alienaiver
Everyone keeps saying it.
"I hope your child won't have his father's hair."
It had been funny the first time and maybe even the second and the third, but by now it's getting tiresome.
"Harhar," Tetsuro laughs, and though it doesn't sound the least bit amused the other person doesn't seem to notice.
"You good?" You ask from the kitchen as soon as your visitor has left - cousin of a cousin or something like that. Somehow everyone wants to renew their acquaintance with you now that the family is growing - and Tetsuro is getting promotion after promotion.
"Sure," he says, but it lacks conviction.
"Are you?" You ask again, leaning into the doorway, your bump making every position look and feel a little awkward. "Because you're making that face you had when you accidentally took a spoon of my face mask. You can tell me willingly what's going on or I can tickle it out of you, whatever you prefer."
"If you tickle me, I'll tickle you back and then you'll just pee on yourself again."
"One time," you remind him. "That happened one time."
He's grinning now, a far cry from the desolation that had been on his features seconds before. Tetsuro leans in for a kiss, lingering after.
"What do you think the baby's going to look like?"
"Human, I hope."
He snorts. "I know, but... like... do you think he's going to have my eyes or yours? Your weird-looking toes or my long hands?"
"He?" You ask and he pulls a face.
"I know, I know, we don't know the gender yet. That just slipped out. He or she, you know."
You're quiet for a minute.
"Would you mind if he looked like you? If it was a boy, I mean?"
Teturo hesitates. You tuck a strand of his unruly hair behind his ear, and watch as it slips out right away, unwilling to be tamed.
"You're really good-looking, you know that, right?" You ask and he snorts.
"You say that because you've got weird taste. But when I was a kid-"
"When I was a kid, I had the worst, untamable curls you can imagine."
Tetsuro shrugs. "Can't be that bad."
"Uh, yes? Also, baby shampoo isn't made for curls, so you can imagine how that turned out."
"You want picture proof?"
"Absolutely."
"Coming right up," you turn back toward the kitchen where your phone lies. "I'm going to call my mom and you know that's going to take a hot minute. Can you make Dinner in the meantime?"
He groans. "Do I have to?"
"Do you want to talk to my mom?"
"Yeah, I'm on it... Pork Belly or Veggies?"
-
"Oh my god you look amazing," Tetsuro guffaws as he swipes, his head resting on the swell of your steadily growing bump.
Your mother has done her duty, sending over all the worst pictures she could find. Because you just know that there must have been some decent one lying around, though they're not mixed in with all the horrible shots of the mess on your head. Count on a mother to find the most unflattering picture of a child and call it a treasure.
"Can you imagine?" You ask when his laughter has calmed down a bit. "What if our hair textures would mix?"
Tetsuro ponders that for a second before he moves, pressing a kiss to your temple.
"Our child will be the cutest, most messy-haired being on earth."

Headcanons:
╭⋅I'm extremely sorry but i cannot picture him reacting on a bad way- ofc he is not bubbly excited... who would in a situation like this?! yet well he wont be mean (at least i want to believe so...)
╭⋅both of you are on un 3rd year btw!!
╭⋅also, he is extra nerdy with you, and for this story u are just as nerdy as him!!
╭⋅And thanks to this u guys are notorious in school for being the power nerd couple, heehhe—aces in exams, kings in science fairs, and i jst know u guys have matching lab coats "for the bit." mwahaah
╭⋅Everyone knows you’re dating, not because you announced it, but because your lab reports come with flirty footnotes and he calls you “babe” while doing Bunsen burner safety checks.
╭⋅You two flirt using chemistry puns constantly. One time during an organic chem study session, he deadass said, “Wanna form an exothermic reaction?” and started taking off his shirt. (ehem ehem)
╭⋅The night it happened? You were “studying” together—textbooks open, but half your focus was on the way he looked scribbling equations with his sleeves rolled up. One thing led to another. It was inevitable. Nerds with no chill.
╭⋅After ur reveal he immediately starts trying to make nerdy jokes to cope. Suggests naming the baby something wild like “Radical” or “Valence.” You veto it on sight.
╭⋅Once the shock wears off, Kuroo goes full responsible mode—but still very much in his chaotic science-boy way.
╭⋅He makes a shared Google Doc titled “Pregnancy: Research and Strategy Plan” and fills it with links, to-do lists, charts, and a spreadsheet of baby names with scientific etymology.
╭⋅Starts bringing you snacks, prenatal vitamins, and random facts like, “The
fetus can hear sound at week 16 so we should probably start reading it chemistry notes.”
╭⋅You’re still you two—nerdy, stubborn, a little too smart for your own good—but now you’ve got a tiny science experiment growing between you and somehow, it just… works.
╭⋅btw this one takes place on the same "universe" where kenma got his gf pregnant (teen pregnancy series) but obiously 1 year later
Kuroo’s sprawled on the floor of your room, half-draped over a textbook, mumbling formulas under his breath. You’re seated at your desk, tapping a pencil against your lip, watching him like you’re analyzing a very complicated math problem. Maybe because you are.
It’s not the equations, though.
It’s the conversation that’s about to drop like a physics-defying bowling ball onto his head.
“Hey,” you say, casually, like you’re about to ask if he wants a snack or something.
Kuroo hums without looking up. “If this quadratic equation was a villain, I’d punch it in the face.”
You nod, then say, “I’m pregnant.”
He freezes, pencil mid-stroke. The silence stretches. You count the seconds before he blinks. One. Two. Three.
His head slowly lifts, eyes wide behind his glasses. “Wait. Like… in theory? Or—”
“In practice,” you say, voice dry.
The pencil slips from his hand.
“Oh.” He blinks again, expression unreadable for a second. Then: “Okay. Okay. So like… how pregnant are we talking? Hypothetically in the first trimester? Or like, we need to name it next week pregnant?”
“Just took the test,” you reply. “It wasn’t subtle.”
He sits up straighter, legs crossed now, and stares at you. “Okay. Wow. Uh. This is happening. You're so calm.”
“Freaking out won’t change the results,” you say with a shrug. “Besides, you're the one who said, and I quote, ‘It’s not rocket science, babe.’”
“That was—! That was about the homework!”
You give him a knowing look.
“Okay, fair.”
There’s a beat of silence. He runs a hand through his messy hair, clearly short-circuiting. You walk over and plop down beside him, stealing one of his notebooks to fan yourself lazily.
“You mad?” you ask. You already know the answer, but you like hearing it.
He lets out a breath, then shakes his head. “No. Just… surprised. But I’m with you. We’re gonna figure this out. We always do.”
You laugh, and for a moment, it’s like nothing’s changed—except everything has.
And still, he reaches for your hand, like it’s the most obvious answer in the world.
Now, a few hours had passed and of course kuroo was still thinking over and over the topic.
Kuroo rubs the back of his neck, eyes flicking to the ceiling of the overhang outside the shop as you both stroll down the street. His steps slow, like he's running some intense mental calculation.
“So… wait. When do you think it happened? Like, conception-wise?”
You squint at the sidewalk, pretending to think hard. “Probably that night we were doing that organic chem cram session.”
His mouth drops open slightly. “You mean the one where we couldn’t finish the chapter because someone got distracted talking about ‘bond strength’ and how ‘covalent sharing’ is so intimate?”
You smirk. “Yeah. And someone said, ‘Wanna form an exothermic reaction?’ and then took off their shirt like it was part of the curriculum.”
Kuroo groans dramatically, dragging his palm down his face. “Oh my god. We literally synthesized a whole human because I couldn’t shut up with the chemistry pickup lines.”
You nudge him with your elbow, grinning. “To be fair, you did cause a reaction.”
He throws his head back with a laugh and then mutters, “This is gonna be the nerdiest origin story for a baby ever. We should name it something cool like ‘Radical’… y’know, for free radicals?”
You chuckle. “We’re not naming our child after unstable electrons, Tetsurou.”
“Fine,” he sighs, but he’s still smiling, his cheeks a bit red from both the walk and the embarrassment. “But I want it on record that we were doing homework when this happened. That’s like, parental legacy gold.”
You roll your eyes. “A+ for effort. Literally.”
He snorts, adjusting the strap of the tote bag he’s carrying (which was actually yours). Then he glances sideways at you, a wicked grin forming.
“Well,” he says, stretching out the words, “looks like Kenma’s girl gonna have a friend now.”
You almost choke. “Oh my god—”
He grins proudly. “I’m just saying. Accidental power couple babies? It's a new generation.”
You smack his arm lightly. “You better hope our kid doesn’t inherit your flirt-to-pregnancy ratio.”
“Hey,” he defends, grinning. “That was a scientifically charged environment. Not my fault chemistry was too strong to resist.”
You both burst out laughing just as the neon lights of the convenience store come into view—probably the last moment of calm before things get real. But somehow, with him by your side, even chaos feels like something you can conquer.
With an A+.

Your seven-year-old son Haruto is currently watching 'Bluey' on the carpet in the living room, eating his Lucky Charms cereal, when both you and Tetsurō walk into the living room.
"Bud, put the TV on mute, we need to talk about something." Tetsurō crosses his arms and you stand next to him with a smile on your face.
Haruto frowns and puts his unfinished bowl down, looking at you and your husband.
"Am I in trouble?" The little ravenette asks, looking a little bit scared that he did something wrong.
"You’re not in trouble, Haruto. Your mum and I wanted to… deliver some news." Tetsurō tries to comfort him but it only makes the little ravenette feel worse.
"Okay?…" You can see that your son pales a little bit and you’re scared he’s going to throw up on the carpet on how nervous he looks.
You crouch down to his level, your smile comforting his uneasiness a little bit.
"You’re going to be a big brother Haruto. We're having a baby." Your gentle voice calms him down a little bit more and Haruto understands and begins to frown.
"But I don’t want a sibling."
Kuroo sighs and scratches the side of his neck, looking at you for help.
You gave your husband an annoyed look before looking at your son again with a smile.
"Haru, I know this change may be scary but I am sure that you will be as excited as me and daddy when we welcome your little sibling into the world." You ruffle his black messy hair and when your posture is straight again, Haruto can see a very little bump on the lower part of your stomach. He actually thought that maybe you ate a little bit too much of food from last week but since you’re about to change, the little ravenette feels like his world is going to change as well. And not in a good way.
You and Kuroo leave the room and Haruto tries to focus on his show again, but the thought of having to share everything with another kid in the household is making his stomach twist with jealousy.
The next morning after you left for your ultrasound appointment, Kuroo stays behind to watch your son while also having to work from home.
Haruto walks over to see his dad at the kitchen table, working as it seems.
He holds his penguin plushie close to his chest when he starts talking to his father.
"Dad?" Haruto looks at his father, who is typing a lot down on his laptop with a concentrated face.
"Hm?" Tetsurō keeps his face focused on his laptop, writing something down on his notepad that lays next to it.
"When does my new brother arrive?" Haruto asks curiously.
"Well, we don’t know yet and we don’t know if you get a brother or a sister."
"Why not? I thought you said I will have a sibling?" Haruto‘s face scrunches up a bit.
"I know. But it’s too early for that to know, buddy. Mum has to grow your sibling and until her stomach gets a little bit bigger, we don’t know for sure yet if it’s going to be a girl or a boy." Tetsurō looks at his son from his peripheral vision, seeing that his son's face angers up a bit.
"I don’t want a sister."
"Well, mum can’t influence that either. Why are you against having a sibling anyway? Mum and Dad thought you would be happy about the news."
Haruto looks down at his bare feet, losing the grip on his plushie.
"A brother or sister would mean I have to share my room, my food and you and mommy." Haruto mutters in shame, a hint of hurt and sadness mixed in his words.
Kuroo sighs, turning around so he fully faces his son.
"I know that change can be scary, Haru. But I promise you, once your sibling arrives, you’re going to be happy to have one. Think about uncle Bo, he has four kids. All of them are happy that they have each other." Kuroo says with a little smile.
"But they fight over food and their toys sometimes." Haruto explains while looking up at his father.
"I know but even mum and I fight sometimes. It’s normal to fight with someone sometimes. It would NOT be normal if they never fight or if they fight all the time. When I was your age, my mum, your grandma, and my dad would fight all the time. In the end, it was just me and your grandma. Your dad only had uncle Kenma as a friend in the beginning and back then, I would have done anything to have a sister or a brother."
Haruto looks at his father with a sad expression, tears starting to collect in his eyes as he runs to his father and hugs his legs very tightly.
Kuroo is quite shocked by the action but chuckles heartily as he cards his fingers through Haruto's hair, comforting him.
Haruto calms down and accepts the fact that he will be a big brother.
Over the next few months, Haruto watches the change in his mother, physically and emotionally.
Your stomach begins to grow more and you cry over the silliest things. (At least in Tetsurō‘s opinion)
You cried a full hour because a butterfly hit your windshield, your husband brought you your favorite flowers and you felt nauseous after smelling them, causing you to feel bad because you can’t enjoy them, saying that Tetsurō wasted his money. You’re eating the weirdest and most disgusting food combinations, sometimes having corn dogs and dipping them in Joghurt or other times especially in the mornings, you eat hot flaming Cheetos with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Right now, Haruto looks in concern with his hazel eyes at you, as you are eating vanilla ice cream with tuna chunks in it.
"Mum, why can you have ice cream for breakfast and I can’t?" Haruto pouts.
Kuroo snorts behind the rim of his coffee mug.
"You’re not concerned about the tuna in the ice cream?" He chuckles as he looks between you and his son.
You continue to savor the food in your mouth when you shot your husband a nasty glare for that comment.
It makes Kuroo gulp in nervousness.
"I am craving this. Now be quiet and let me enjoy my food, Tetsū." You snap at him.
"Yes, ma'am." Kuroo replies with a shaky voice.
Haruto glances between the two of you and giggles at the exchange between his parents.
Exactly four months later, Haruto is sitting in front of the entrance door, anxiously waiting for his parents to come back.
Kenma is watching him, since your water broke in the middle of last night, having to go to the hospital for delivering Haruto's baby sister.
Currently, the dyed blonde is gaming on his Nintendo switch when he looks over at his godchild. Haruto is sitting in front of the door like a dog waiting for its owner to get home. He looks incredibly worried and rightfully so, since last night was pretty hectic and you looked in so much pain that all Haruto wanted to do was comfort you.
Before Haruto knew it though, his father called Kenma in a panic and not even twenty minutes later, the pro gamer showed up at their doorstep. He was never that fast at their house.
With a last quick goodbye, you and Kuroo were out the door and it’s already been over 15 hours.
Haruto did not like this one bit.
You were in pain and it was caused by his stupid sibling that he was actually excited for.
Kenma is very tired after being woken up by the former Middle Blocker at 1 am last night but still, he needed to watch Kuroo’s son.
Nekoma's former Setter is looking at him for a few more minutes until he decides that they should do something, to get Haruto’s mind off a bit.
"Hey little gremlin, want to watch some SpongeBob?" He offers.
Haruto looks at Kenma and gets up from his sitting position to join the former Setter on the couch.
During an episode, Kenma's phone vibrates with a message from the roosterhead.
'Lost count of how many times (Y/N) has threatened to kill me. Bones in my right hand are crushed to death. Say hi to Himari Kuroo. How is Haru?'
A picture follows underneath the text message.
It’s a picture of a newborn in a soft pink cat beanie and it’s swaddled up in a white blanket with cartoon kittens all over them, appearing to be sleeping.
Kenma smiles at the picture, happy that everything went well despite the long labor that you had to go through.
'He is fine. He keeps staring at the door like a little dog, waiting for its owners to get back.' How is (Y/N)? The blonde texts back.
‘She’s good, exhausted af. She’s been sleeping and eating mochis for the most part. Really missing Haru as well.'
'How about I drive Haru to you? That way he can see you and (Y/N) and (Y/N) can see Haru again.' Kenma offers.
'👍🏻😌'
Kenma turns to the little ravenette and sees that he is looking down at his penguin plushie with a sorrow expression.
"Come on little gremlin, let’s go see your parents and your little sister."
Haruto's face snaps up to his godfather and he smiles excitedly.
The two of them are driving to the hospital where you delivered and Haruto keeps swinging his short legs back and forth, excited to see his mama and his papa again.
When Kenma and Haruto walk through the doors of the hospital, people are gushing over the two of them, causing Kenma to feel slightly uncomfortable because they think Haruto is Kenma’s son.
When they reach the labor and delivery unit, Kenma asks for your name and the nurse at the front desk leads them to the room you’re staying in.
Haruto is too hyper to contain his excitement and runs to the room, almost slamming it open.
The sudden opening of the door startles you and Kuroo but quickly changes to happiness to seeing your son.
"Mama!" Haruto climbs on the bed towards you and your raging hormones are making you cry when you finally have your boy back in your arms.
"Haru, be careful! Mum had surgery done on her stomach!" Kuroo scolds his son and tries to pull him off of you.
"It’s okay, Tetsu. He just missed us." You soothe your husband while caressing the little ravenette’s head and back.
Kuroo joins your side on the bed, wrapping his arms around you and his son, feeling at peace.
Kenma watches the scene with a fond look before deciding to give the three of you a little privacy.
Remembering why he came here in the first place, Haruto wiggles out of his mother’s embrace and sees that your stomach has shrunk down.
"Where’s my baby brother?" He asks in curiosity.
"You have a sister, Haru. Her name is Himari and she is currently with the nurses, she needed to be weighed." You explain to him, brushing the messy strands back.
Just as he was about to reply to you, the nurse walks in with Himari and Haruto sits up straight to be able to see his sister.
He scooches back a bit into the arms of his father and watches intensely as a little bundle of wrapped blankets is handed back carefully to you.
"You want to say hi to your little sister?" You whisper in a gentle tone, unwrapping some of the blankets so your son can see his little sister better.
"She looks like a mochi." His amber eyes shine in excitement.
"She does. Make sure you protect your little mochi, okay Haru? She depends on her big brother."
Haruto nods enthusiastically and carefully touches her face and giggles a bit at her scrunched up face.
Later on, Haruto is knocked out from being up for so long and is sleeping soundly against his father while you feed Himari.
"Tetsu, you’re staring." You say while breastfeeding your newborn, not taking your eyes off of Himari.
"Sorry, kitten. Can’t help myself." Kuroo smirks in mischief as he continues to look at you with love and affection while Haru is sleeping soundly against his chest.
Kuroo can’t describe the words how happy he is to have a family with you. He hopes that in the future, Haruto and Himari will grow up close and maybe if he plays his cards right, have another bundle of joy with you in the future.
"We're going to daddy's work!" the kids sing on the back part of your familiar car as you keep driving through the busy Tokyo streets, searching for the Japan Volleyball Association's offices building. You debated with Tetsuro yesterday about if it was a good idea to bring the kids on the "take our children to work" day on his office. They're little, and especially frets, restless and rascals. Tetsuro's position on the association is way too important to have two tiny kids running around his office, but still, he was excited for today - even more than the kids. - since it's the first time they're celebrating this kind of day.
A call enters on the free hands of the car, your older son getting to read the name on the little screen before sharing what he saw with his sister. "Is dad, is dad!" You answer the call hearing your children's whispers behind.
"Love?" Tetsuro's voice sounds around the car, making you smile softly. "Did you find the office?" he asks. You take a quick look to the signals in front of you, unable to find anything that gives you a clue about your husband's workplace.
"I think we're lost." you admit. Tetsuro laughs softly. You used to drop by his office when you didn't had the kids and your way of moving around was walking. Your first work used to be pretty near to his, but getting to it by foot from the subway stop was way easier than getting there by car. Taking the right lanes, the right positions on traffic lights and avoiding passing the intersection.
"We're near a sports center." You keep explaining him what you can see, as he gets an idea of where you are, getting the exact point shortly after. He guides you through your phone, helping you to get the right directions and keeping a background conversation with your kids. Once you arrive to the building, a well-dressed Tetsuro is waiting outside, phone on his ear and all his height escaping from the sun under a tree. He waves your hands towards the car as soon as he sees you, making your children shout with happiness while you park. Tetsuro opens their car door once you shut off the engine, taking your soon to the pavement and unbuckling your daughter's chair straps, carefully taking her out of the car. He looks at both of them before his cheeks blush.
"They insisted to use this." You say, smiling, as you walk around the car to stand next to him. The kids smile showing their t-shirts, both having their surname on their backs and the characteristic color of his dad's volley equipment. Tetsuro's eyes scan softly his children, and a subtle shine appears on his eyes. Taking your phone, you kiss his cheek before pushing him softly towards them.
"Go, go. I'll take a pic of the three of you."
Tetsuro takes your face on his habds before pecking your lips sweetly, leaving towards your kids with big steps and keeling berween both of them. Your daughter gets her little arma tangled around his neck and your son sits on his knee. The three of them smile while you take the pic, smiling to yourself, feeling way too lucky to be part of this family. Tersuro stands up and calls you. "Come, we'll take a pic." You follow your husband's voice and, giving the phone to him, you take your youngest between your arms. Tetsuro picks up your older soon while he tries to get the four of you on the frame, clicking the camera button when all of you smile. "Done!" looking at the clock on his wrist, he sighs. "I'm sorry, love, but we have to go back inside. My break is over."
You kneel near your kids, arranging their backpacks and their clothes, and whispering softly some instructions.
"Don't bother daddy when he's talking with other people, and ask nicely for things. Don't leave his office without him and don't paint on papers you didn't ask for. Have a good day and make sure dad eats all his meal!"
The children laugh and hug you, giving kisses to your cheeks and assuring they will be good at dad's work.
Standing up, Tetsuro gets close to you, tangling his arms on your waist and kissing your lips. "Take care of them, and if you need anything..
"
"Call." he finishes, against your lips again. He gives a new kiss to you, before letting you go sadly. "I'll see you in a few hours." He parts sweetly before reuniting with his kids again.
He takes the children's hands on his own, walking with them towards the office, and you can't help but take a pic of the three, holding hands, giving their back to you and talking while they disappear inside the building. Your new wallpaper welcomes you when your phone gets a notification from Tetsu.

The cozy living room was filled with the sound of cheerful chatter and the clatter of game pieces. It was family night, and the boys had decided that board games would be the activity. Ren and Leo, your six-year-old twin boys, were seated on the carpet, eagerly setting up the board game. Kuroo Tetsurō, ever the doting father, was busy organizing the game cards next to you on the couch, while you, his radiant pregnant wife, watched with a loving smile on your face.
"Daddy, are we going to play now?" Ren asked, his brown eyes wide with anticipation.
"Yeah, we're ready!" Leo added, bouncing with excitement.
Kuroo grinned at your boys, ruffling each of their hair. "Almost, guys. Just let me shuffle these cards, and we'll get started."
You chuckled, resting a hand on your belly. "You two are so excited. I wonder who's going to win?"
They both raised their arms and exclaimed, "I'm gonna win!" in unison. You and Kuroo both softly laughed at their eagerness.
Kuroo finished shuffling the cards and handed each boy a stack. "Alright, let's see who's the master of this game."
The boys scooted closer to the coffee table, ready to beat each other at the game. Kuroo's hand naturally found your thigh, giving it a few gentle squeezes. "How are you feeling, love?" he asked, his voice softening. His hazel eyes met yours, always full of endearment when he looked at you.
"Good," you replied, leaning in to give him a short kiss. "The baby's been active today."
Kuroo's eyes sparkled with affection. "Our little one's going to be a bundle of energy, just like their brothers."
As they started the game, the room filled with laughter and playful banter. Ren and Leo were fiercely competitive, but Kuroo and you always made sure to keep the atmosphere light and fun. Whenever it was the boys' turn, your husband would sneak a kiss on your cheek, making you giggle in response. He was so affectionate towards you, always making you feel loved and appreciated.
"You're distracting me," you teased, playfully leaning into him.
"Can't help it," he replied with a mischievous grin. "You're just too cute, my love."
Ren and Leo both said, "Ewwww!" in response but continued focusing on the game. They equally wanted to outdo their parents.
After a few rounds, you excused yourself to get some snacks from the kitchen. Kuroo followed you, wrapping his arms around you as you reached for the chips.
“Need any help, sexy?” he whispered in your ear, pressing a kiss to your neck.
You laughed, leaning back into him. “I think I can manage, but I do appreciate the offer,” you said, turning around to peck him on the lips.
Your husband couldn’t resist giving you a playful smack on the butt. “Just making sure you know how irresistible you are.”
“Tetsu!” you scolded lightly, barely holding in your smile. "You're impossible."
"And you love it," he winked at you, turning you around to kiss you properly. "I'm just so lucky to have you."
You both returned to the living room with snacks in hand, and the boys cheered at the sight of treats. The game resumed as you all began munching on the various snacks, the atmosphere filled with warmth and joy.
As the game night drew to a close, Ren and Leo were declared the winners, much to their delight. They celebrated by jumping up and down, high-fiving each other, then you and Tetsu.
"Good job, guys," Kuroo said, lifting each boy for a hug. "You beat us fair and square."
"We're the best!" Leo proclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
You laughed, ruffling his hair. "You boys did great. Now, how about we wind down with a story before bed?"
Ren and Leo nodded eagerly, and the family moved to the couch. Kuroo picked out a storybook, settling between his sons while you leaned against him, your head resting on his shoulder. As he read, his deep voice brought the characters to life, mesmerizing the twins.
The boys fell asleep quickly, resulting in the story being cut short. Kuroo carried them to their room, tucking them in with gentle kisses to their foreheads.
"Goodnight, Ren. Goodnight, Leo," he whispered. "Sweet dreams."
Returning to the living room, Kuroo found you waiting for him, your eyes filled with love. He sat beside you, pulling you into his arms.
"Tonight was perfect," you said softly, looking into his eyes.
"Every night with you is perfect," he replied, kissing you tenderly. "I can't wait for the baby to be part of this."
You embraced him in response, your family's future shining bright with endless possibilities.
unfortunately, dad!kuroo thoughts have plagued my mind for far too long and i need to write them down.
dad!kuroo with a daughter: loves to address his wife and daughter “his girls” “my girls are waiting for me at home” “my girls!” he’d exclaim when the two of them greet him at the front door. “my girls made it for me,” he’d say with the proud smile when asked who makes his lunch everyday. “my girls,” he’d fondly mutter when gently moving strands of hair away from his sleeping wife and daughter’s faces.
dad!kuroo rubbing his baby’s little feet against the stubble on his face to make them squeal and giggle.
dad!kuroo angling his chest away from the stovetop when carrying his baby while cooking at the same time. to onlookers, it’ll look like this man is perpendicular to the stove haha
dad!kuroo receiving back-pats from his baby when he carries them because they’re used to their dad patting their back to burp, so they pat him back
dad!kuroo carrying his baby and dipping really low in the grocery store to let his baby choose and grab the vegetable (and puts it back and lets them re-choose if they choose a bad one haha) he likes letting them feel needed and responsible for “grown up” tasks, like grocery shopping!
when his baby falls asleep in public in his arms, he’d take off his jacket (somehow) and lay it over them to cover from the bright lights and the prevent them from catching a cold. he’d leave a spot above their head open so he can still fondly look at them
dad!kuroo and his lack of clean shirts because of the countless times his baby has drooled on them
Ik a while ago I said I wouldn’t do parent fics/dad!AUs for personal reasons BUT just this once I’ll indulge in a thought that makes me laugh rather than spiral (not turning it into a full fic tho)
I came across a tiktok abt a dad getting his daughters to stop fighting while doing chores by flirting with their mom (his wife) every time they argued rather than getting upset with them so...
why would this totally be suna or atsumu as a dad? (maybe even kuroo?) my first thought seeing this was literally that this would be them. AM I WRONG???
any time your kids argue, he is immediately kissing your all over your face, complimenting you in the most over the top ways- he’s all over you. it’s making your kids scream in horror but it’s making you laugh. a win-win situation for him, obviously, because they stop arguing like you’ve both been asking for the past ten minutes and he gets to sweet talk you a bit, which is one of his favourite things in the world hands down. (it’s also setting a good example for his kids on how to treat their future partners and diffuse situations.)
@emmyrosee thoughts? feel free to add anything if you’d like! you are definitely the dad!au expert in my mind. (emmy has a ton of adorable dad!au fics posted, check them out!!!!)
Please do Osamu, Lev, Kurro and Bokuto coming to the readers rescue (she's a stranger to them) because the guys overhear people saying horrible things about the reader. Only to find out the reader is 3/4 months pregnant (the stage where you just look little chunky). Fast forward a few months and the boys are happily rubbing the readers belly during interviews or out with friends, gushing about how excited they are to be dads.
Thank you so much for requesting!!this is a very cute idea! If anyone wants to see me write anything else let me know I love writing requests so much!!!
Tw~ reader is single mom, people talk bad about her being pregnant and litterally anything about pregnancy(like morning sickness going to the doctors), Bokuto’s includes paparazzi, legs has a comment about weight gain, let me know if I missed anything!
Osamu
You’d been visiting Osamu’s restaurant long before you’d gotten pregnant, and he’d always thought you were so pretty, he’d wanted to ask you out for a long time.
Today however you walked in dejected which set him off, you were normally always bubbly and happy talking animatedly to Osamu over the counter as you told him about your day.
Today you simply waited at the counter giving him a small smile when he greeted you. You were pregnant, living there in the little town that you did made it so much more difficult to even step out the house.
You wanted to hide your face when you could hear everyone whispering about you, “y/n?” Osamu asks softly.
“Ya hear them Samu?” You ask almost ashamed.
He rolls his eyes lightly knowing you’ve always been conscious about the way people precived you not really paying any mind to what they were saying before he told you to just ignore them while he sent the order through the back.
After some time Osamu looks up, the loud mouth of town stands at the counter looking at him adoringly and he wants to vomit in his mouth.
“Did you hear about y/n?” She asks getting some sick sense satisfaction out of his confused face.
“She’s pregnant” she tells him sounding almost excited as she tells him the news, Osamu looks over at you sympathetically, he knows it’s eating at you too hear everyone talk about you.
Eventually when your food come out he goes on his lunch break. He sits down beside you.
“She told you huh?” You look up at Osamu from your arms sadly.
But looking back on that it all seems so small in the grand scheme of things as Osamu rubs your big belly lifting the weight of your baby girl occasionally while the two of you watch your favorite series.
Lev
It was when you were resigning from your job as a model. The assistant had been pestering you about you’re very slight weight gain, and you knew that inevitably they were going to fire you but that was to embarrassing in your mind so you simply turned in your two weeks notice.
Lev who absolutely loved your presence on the job was more than disheartened by your leaving, litterally following you everywhere telling you he’d miss you so he was soaking in your presence before you’d be gone.
You giggled a little, “Lev, you can visit me whenever you want”
“It’s not the same y/n! I won’t see you everyday!” He practically squeals
“It is too Lev! You can visit me whenever you want! If that’s everyday so be it!”
And that’s what it was everyday after you quit your job Lev went over to your house.
Now you’re almost seven months pregnant and you’re sat beside Lev who glances from the interviewer to your belly every few seconds trying to have the interviewer ask questions he likes.
“Uhm how far along are you?” They ask the question directed at you and Lev starts to babble about how the two of you met.
“And she’s six months along now with a pretty baby girl! Wanna see?” He asks reaching for his wallet as you smile fondly while he pulls out the ultrasound.
Kuroo
You’d told Kuroo about how stressed you’d been lately when he’d sat with you at lunch like normal. So when you ran to the womens restroom with morning sickness again, obviously your female coworkers came out chatting about you.
“Maybe she’s got issues?” One suggests
“I’m telling you! All that stress she takes on is gonna make her sick” the other cackles as Kuroo scowls.
“Y/n” he pokes his head into the restroom making sure there’s no one else in ther
“In here” you shout pushing your hand out from the stall.
“You ok?” He asks cautiously walking in.
“Morning sickness” you whisper.
“Her morning sickness was really bad back than” Kuroo tells Kenma one night as a the three of you and a few of your other friends were sat around a table.
“It was worth it though” you whisper glancing over at your precious little girl who bounces in her high chair waiting for you to give her another piece of ice for her teeth.
Bokuto
He doesn’t even know what’s happening just that you drop your bag items scattering all on the sidewalk and being the nice person he is, he helps you out picking your stuff up without knowing it’d cause an onslaught of people to food the comments of your social media posts with threatening messages about staying away from Bokuto.
Of course he made a post telling everyone to knock it off or there would be serious consequences but he messaged you telling you he was sorry about everything and he wanted to make it up to you but didn’t know how. That’s how the two of you ended up at a little cafe giggling at everything the other was saying.
“I’ve never been here what do you suggest?” You ask looking over at Bokuto as he points out a few caffeinated drinks.
“I can’t have those, caffeine’s bad for the baby!” You tell him placing your hands over your little bump.
“And that’s how I met the love of my life!” He says staring lovingly at you were you are behind the camera.
He motions for you to come over and you do so hesitantly. He wraps his hands around your waist, “and this is our little baby!” He says excitedly placing his hands on your bump, “she’s growing perfectly!” He begins and you can already see the tangent he’s about to go on about the baby.
If anyone wants to see a part two or have me write anything else let me know I love writing requests!!
