SOBBING ACTUALLY. Oda gave me the besties + the dad Ace content I crave and deserve in one image alone
Marco and Ace are Girl Dads!
Tea party? There always! In dresses and "make-up" done
Playing Princesses? Gets sent on quests for cookies
Want to bake? Hands them over to Thatch
Want something cute and sparkly? Gets 9/10
Match Outfits? They try very hard too
Cameko? Always has on hand, can't miss a precious moment
Being a cute little helper nurse? When Marco has to work.
Fighting Nap time by being cute? Give them to the narcolepsy dad and nap together.
Playing hair stylist? There is no escape and comes out with very "unique" styles to wear.
They have a very hard time saying no to their Princesses.
Hi, Liv! How are you?
So, I loved your headcanons about how Luffy and Sanji would react when their kid call them "dad" for the first time.
I was wondering if you can do the same with Zoro, Ace, Law and Brook.
If you don't want do it, it's ok, feel free to ignore this ask.
I love you <3
Aw sugar you’re too sweet
~~
When he sleeps around his child he becomes an incredibly light sleeper, constantly listening out for them if they need him. So when Zoro is snoozing with (Name) sleeping on his chest, he wakes up at their stirring. He peaks his eye open, shushing them and rubbing their back. (Name) squints at him, still sleepy but awake. “Dad,” they grumble, rolling from their stomach to their back. Zoro doesn’t say anything but he hums and smiles. It sounds nice to him but he’s not the type of man who makes a big show of something like this. It’s just a nice moment he keeps to himself.
Ace is ecstatic. I think he’s the type to be pushy about getting close with people. So when his shy child reaches for his pant leg and says, “Pops” His heart explodes. They were, of course, requesting to be picked up and Ace swings them around. “That’s right!” He beams, “Pops! That’s me!” Ace will hug them tight and just be so happy.
Law isn’t necessarily standoffish with (Name) but he didn’t imagine he’d ever end up as a parent or a father figure to anybody. So when (Name) comes up to him with a scraped knee and says, “Hey, Dad, can I have a bandaid?” Law is surprised. Not that his clumsy kid needs a bandaid but that they just called him dad so casually. He doesn’t say anything, but he gets out his first aid kit.
Brook is actually taken aback when the little kid looks up at him with big eyes and calls him dad. “Dad! Listen! I found this crazy looking bug on the ship, but Usopp got scared and-“ (Name) just goes on and on but Brook has just tuned them out on accident. He’s just so surprised that (Name) would call him of all people dad.
The scolding dad energy Ace had when he gestured for Carson to hop into the backseat of Florence at Rosario's is so underrated
Ace looks like a 40 yo dad in holidays I'm crying ! Neon orange shorts + Hawaïen shirt aaargh help him 🚁🚨 ( *caugh caugh* Croco-boy and Emo-law too )
IM LAUGHING ACE DOES LOOK LIKE A DAMN DAD HAHAHAHA also im pretty sure crocodile wins worst dressed but it’s ok bc he tried his hardest and that’s all that matters. law u r doing great sweetie
Heyoo Liv! You wrote in the past about how Luffy and his crew would react to their Captain's child d€ath. I wonder how Ace would react to his own child passing away. How would he cope with that? Would that create more issues than he already has or would it deepen his already existing ones?
I totally get it if you don't want to write about it! Stay safe out there!

-Most interpretations of Ace consist of him having anxiety about parent hood. I generally agree. I have my own spin on that but I'm not getting into all that now.
-Ace is already an overprotective parent. He spends a lot of his time worrying about what (Name) is doing or where they were. He is always thinking about the worst case scenario.
-So when the worst case scenario does occur, Ace is inconsolable. He quickly spirals into a vengeful rage. If his child his killed by someone, he will hunt that person down with frightening speed.
-He becomes a creature of fire and rage. His former self is burnt away and any strong flame burns harder with alcohol. When he's not thinking about getting revenge, Ace is drinking. To either be sedated by the booze or charging towards his vengeance are his preferred states.
-Between those two states, he's quite. Ace doesn't speak if he can avoid it. There isn't much life left in him without the fire.
-His crew reaches out to offer their support, to comfort him, to pull him from his war path. For some time, their concerns fall of deaf ears. Ace lashes out to anyone who tries to calm him down.
-When he finally gets his revenge, Ace doesn't feel any better. He tries to turn onto the Gods. Ace swears that he would pull the Gods out of the heavens and demand they return his child. They gave Luffy such a miracle so why couldn't Ace be granted the same one.
-Of course, one mortal man cannot destroy the Gods, so Ace does succumb to his grief. He returns to his crew who welcome him with open arms.
-None of them comment on the wailing they hear in the night, or the scorch marks on the hull. They just accept him as he his.
-His experience is one like a dying star. Ace burned so brightly with his rage and grief, that by the end of it all, he's nothing but ash and darkness.
Good morning / afternoon / evening, Liv!
In your last headcanon with Ace you mentioned that you have your own spin on Ace as a parent. Can you tell us more about it?
Okay okay! So I have this whole thing that Ace would be a stand off-ish parent. He never wanted to be a dad out of fear of his own familial short comings. Every single prominent male person in his life either permanently stained his reputation or was very in and out of his life. Thus leading him to believe he wasn’t worthy of fatherly love.
Obviously this damages Ace. Whitebeard helps significantly but the damage is already done. So when he acquired a child through whatever means in which he has one, things are tense. Ace isn’t hateful or cruel, he’s just awkward. He fears that if he makes an impact on (Name), they’ll suffer the same fate as he did. Ironically though, his stiff nature would drive the exact same wedge between himself and his child that he had between father figures in his life. Maybe, Ace eventually comes around, maybe he doesn’t. Who’s to say?
hiiii! it's me the one who asked for daddy ace hc, hehe. so... it's just ace as a father but,, i might send another ask for daddy ace lololol
Ha! Sure thing 💕
-Ace is really insecure as a father, because of his upbringing
-He never had a healthy father figure when he was young so he doesn’t know how to parent
-Whitebeard and the crew is a huge support system for him and give him great advice
-also some really bad advice
-Ace is a great dad all in all though
-I’d say he’s viciously protective of his kids and adores them with everything he has
-Ace is very very present in the life of his kids and would gladly die for them
-At the same time he’d never want to leave them in a world without him
-Ace cries over all of their milestones he’s just so proud of everything they do
-Uncle Luffy actually stresses him out to the max when the kids are small because Luffy is a bit... rambunctious for toddlers
