On ‘The High Priestess’ of Tarot
wisdom ~ intuition ~ mystery ~ magic ~ serenity ~ secret knowledge ~ Akashic records
“The High Priestess is a gatekeeper of deep mysteries and hidden truths. She is Isis, Persephone, Artemis, Mary, Hathor, and an embodiment of the initiates and goddesses of the ages. Above her head radiate the secrets of the cosmos and the ancient cyclical magic of the moon, calling forth the inherent wisdom of the Divine Feminine. In her hand, she holds a crystal - an energetic structure that contains the entirety of the knowledge she preserves. Perhaps it reflects the Akashic records, a lens into the pages of the Book of Life, a vessel for the spiritual revelations and occult teachings passed down throughout the ages. Sitting quietly, she waits in perfect love and perfect trust.
The Message ~ The High Priestess is a reminder that we each contain within us the very wisdom which we seek. She describes a deep understanding of the higher realms of consciousness and acknowledges the universal balance of light and dark energies. As the second card of the Major Arcana, she represents a strong duality and internal strength in comparison with the more extroverted energy of the previous card, the Magician, who enters a more active force. The High Priestess has learned and absorbed the powers of the Magician and now draws upon the knowledge she has received. This card indicates an awakened spiritual or psychic awareness and encourages you to make time for introspection and meditation. It also highlights the reclaiming of personal power, when your own intuitive foresight helps you navigate through any challenges. It marks an understanding of your highest purpose and potential through attaining a balance between your physical and spiritual self: mind, body, and spirit. Trust your inner voice - it will reveal the secrets of your highest calling.
What She Asks of Us ~ How can I access the sacred wisdom and teachings of the universe? What deeper messages are shown to me through my intuition and dreams? How can I connect with my greater soul purpose in life?”
- Danielle Noel, The Book of Tarot
‘On the first card of this strong suit, we see the shape of a sword framed against a stormy sky, cutting thought the obscurity of the shadows. The surrounding flowers represent the expressions of hidden messages and gems of wisdom that are blooming from within, growing to new heights of inspiration.’
