Danny Kim from The Trouble is gay and aromantic
thinking about this article simone wrote about her book (the troubled under her penname daria defore) with an aromantic protagonist and how i haven’t rly called myself aro in years because of a) the discourse and b) it was hard to explain to people and c) i don’t really want to have 3 different labels bc im already bi and nb/trans but it’s so so so nice to hear someone put words to an experience that’s extremely similar to mine and be like “this is an okay way to be in the world.” i thought i was beyond getting emotional about media representation but i guess not!
i finished reading sparkwood by daria defore yesterday and it’s excellent so here’s my take on robin + finn
Now for part one of Things I Have Been Remiss in Mentioning.
The collection I edited for Less Than Three Press, My Dearest Enemy (all queer enemies-to-lovers romance!!!), is officially out. It’s got everything from steampunk lesbians to a trans Peter Pan retelling to shitty contemporary fairies, demons, and warring aliens! I’m so pleased with the collection and hope y’all will go check out the spectacular books. My Dearest Enemy at Less Than Three Press

Finn has never trusted fairies, so it's no surprise to him when his twin brother turns up dead, probably by magical means. What he doesn't expect is an invitation to the funeral—in the fairy realm—and a chance to find out who killed him. Investigating Luke's death is probably the stupidest thing Finn has ever done, and soon he's up to his neck in fairy trouble. In the midst of it all is Robin, the fairy who's supposed to be watching out for him—but who just might have had something to do with Luke's death.
Pairing: Urban Fantasy, Bisexual
Word Count: 50,000
Content: Contains explicit content.

Faeries, death, angst and a mystery. A review for Sparkwood by Daria Defore
Faeries, death, angst and a mystery. A review for Sparkwood by Daria Defore
Sparkwood is one of those stories that I wanted to like, but there were just too many issues with the plot for it too work for me. The plot is pretty much as the blurbs describes it. Finn hates faeries and he has his reasons. His twin, however, doesn’t. Enroute back to the little town they both lived in, Finn discovers Luke is dead upon arrival. Apparently murdered. From there the plot starts…
