Mumbo was forced into a lot of fancy clubs by his parents as a kid. Robotics, piano, jujitsu, chess, debate, and track. He hated all of them and thought them all a waste of his time. But he's grown a new appreciation for them as he uses each skill to flirt with a different hermit.

Building circuits with Iskall, playing piano while grian sings, surprising everyone and pinning doc in a fight, beating Xisuma in chess, debating with Joe, and racing Ren all give him a connection he never would have made otherwise.

He hated his clubs but his 6 partners made of it worth it.

Grian was stranded in season 6 for years. He was alone and scared and unable to log off until the hermits found him there. X fixed his code so he could leave as he pleased but grian didn't want to leave his new family.

At first the hermits thought Grian was just so starved for affection that he’d stick with anyone, but no, he really likes them. Especially Xisuma. Oh boy.

The hermits are used to done if their more non human members to go feral for various reasons but grian was the first to find mumbo completely gone. Nobody knows why he goes into a murderous blood fueled state as he never talks about it, but grian is always willing to help by bringing villagers for mumbo to hunt and being there when mumbo comes down from his high and can do nothing but cry on grians lap.

Mumbo expects Grian to run from him after that. After all, he’s a monster. But Grian’s seen monsters before, and Mumbo is a damn sight better than them.

Grian is a siren who loves to toy with sailors out at sea until one day a pirate captain catches his eye. He normally has no trouble singing sailors to their grave but the sight of doc leaves him speechless. Doc mistakes him for a mermaid and queue grian now trying to hide all his siren traits from doc. Hiding his sharp teeth, retracting his claws, and never singing for doc. He only reveals his true for when docs ship is attacked and grian ends up downing the entire enemy ship by ripping a whole into the underside. Doc is terrified... but mildly aroused.

After Grian saves him, Doc doesn’t see the siren for a long, long time. Doc worries the siren was hurt. Grian worries Doc won’t want anything to do with him anymore. It takes a while to convince both of them to stay together when they meet again.
