Typing with proper syntax because I feel much more like myself that way. So I never ended up actually kinfirming any Bajorans or anyone even tangentially related to Bajor, even though there's obviously still time to suddenly discover I have more Trek kintypes. I did end up somehow kinfirming Data from TNG though.

Anyway. I know Data's a far fucking cry from the kintype I normally use this tag for, but I wanted to get it out there, and to say it's really nice to see someone else from TNG around. Hi Worf! I considered you a kindred spirit then, and I still do now. #📚 📼 🔥

I attempted making a poem based off of my thoughts and feelings during the events in episode 9 season 2 "the measure of a man". I apologize for any mistakes in spelling and/or grammer.

I am not sure how good it is, however, I wanted to share this with you all.

To be your own person

What defines someone as their own person?

According to you, to be a person is to be intelligent,

It is to be self-aware,

It is to have consciousness.

Some would argue it is to be made of organic composition.

If that is true, then I am not a person.

I am an android;

Webster's Twenty Fourth Century Dictionary, Fifth Edition, defines an android as an automaton made

to resemble a human being.

In your mind, property of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

I am not my own person.

What is the difference between me and you?

The fact that I run on electricity?

So do you,

Your nerves are organic wires, and your brain is a computer of flesh.

However, even I will not deny that I am not a member of the human species.

I am an android.

So, I ask again;

If I am not a human, am I person?

You define a person as someone who is:

Intelligent,

Self-aware,

And of having consciousness.

It is undeniable that I possess the first two qualities;

One may argue that I am more intelligent and self-aware than any common species that qualify as

their own persons.

Consciousness is hard to define.

Some say it is simply being aware of one's thoughts and feelings.

Some say it is something incomprehensible to even the smartest of beings.

If I do have any form of consciousness, then I am my own person.

I am not anyone's property but my own.

Canon habits.

I do not use contractions. I have been told I use the word "intriguing" a lot. Not specifically me, but we do what people call "The Riker Maneuver" occasionally when we sit down. I tend to have very good posture and an even stride unless the body decides that hurts too much. I do not understand a lot of human mannerisms, but perhaps that is because we are autistic. If I think of any more I will most likely send another ask.
