Werewolf’s Guide to Time Travel: A Sterek Gif-fic Pt. 1
Derek wasn't paying attention to him at all, so Stiles started to fool around with the little buttons in Derek's car. He accidentally turned on the radio and a loud rock song blasted through the car
"I want you to want me. I need you to need me. I'd love you to love me, I'm begging you to beg me!" the girl sang loudly.
He shared an awkward look with Derek and quickly turned the radio back off.

Sticking with my theme of the night, I've legit sang this to myself on the way to every first date i've gone on in the past 5 years. Total win!?
This is basically me only since I can't get a date, I do this with writing.
Nine Inch Nails - The Wretched
5:26 song for 5/26 for Lisa's date song thing.
I waited so long for this album to come out and when it did I hated it. I put it away in my Box of Disappointments and tried to forget about it. Then one day for whatever reason I took it out of the box and listened to it again. And again. And again. And during one of those agains, the left side of The Fragile became one of my most favorite chunks of music ever.
Life of Agony - Here I Am, Here I Stay
5:22 song for 5/22
It's a shame so few people remember or even ever liked this band. I don't know what I'd define them as. They started off as New York hardcore/metal then some people called them alternative metal then when their third album came out most people called them pussies. Rightfully so. I mean, River Runs Red and Ugly were two very heavy albums and then singer Keith Caputo found himself or something and the third album, Soul Searching Sun, was (despite the excellent "Weeds") like listening to Cat Stevens after years of listening to Slayer. Then Keith left the band and they replaced him - albeit briefly -with Whitfield Crane and, dude. For real? You want to get back to your hardcore roots and you go to the guy who was in Ugly Kid Joe?
After the debacle of Soul Searching Sun, they put out a compilation called 1989-1999 that featured some demos, covers (they do a fantastic March of the SOD as well as Led Zeppelin's Tangerine) and some live songs.
This is a demo of the song that goes back to their original stuff but didn't appear on another album until the digipack re-release of River Runs Red in 2008. If you never have listened to this band and are inclined to listen to a concept album detailing a very heavy musical run through the day of someone who is about to kill himself, I suggest you give it a try.
The Police - Synchronicity II
5:05 song for 5/05
This whole album defines the summer of 1983 for me. Everyone I knew was listening to it. The punks, the metalheads, the disco geeks – even my mother was in love with it. It was at times beautiful and at times dark and ugly. But the entire album – even the songs a lot of people write off like Miss Gradenko and Mother - were perfect musical specimens, showing off the talent of each individual band member and bringing everything together – music, lyrics, stories, emotion – in what I always described as a masterpiece (the overplayed and misunderstoodEvery Breath You Take notwithstanding). For me, the pinnacle of the album came on Synchronicity II, a tale of the darkness that looms under the surface in the life of a suburban family; how all the little things become big things when lived day to day, every single day of your entire life and sometimes it’s enough to turn you into a monster that slowly creeps toward madness.
There are pop rhythms thrown in with intense drumming and a foreboding bass line and the way the chorus and verses switch up pace is like moving between between chapters of a story. I always loved the line “The secretaries pout and preen like cheap tarts in a red light street,” more for the way he breathlessly sings it than the words, and my favorite part is when Stewart Coupland’s drumming perfectly punctuates the line ” a humiliating kick in the crotch.”
I really wish Sting didn’t go off and fall in love with himself after this album. Then again, the band put out five near-perfect albums. Maybe they knew enough to quit while they were ahead.
