Lucius: *points gun at Dave* This is a robbery!
Dave Freeman: Oh shit!
Dave Freeman: *pulls out a violin and starts playing it*
Lucius: The fuck are you doing?
Dave Freeman: I'm sad as hell.

More Lucius characters headcanons because I’ve heard “The house of the rising sun” on the radio and it gave me motivation. (Warning: abuse)
- Whenever the priest writes something homophobic on the church’s sign, Ceefor and Banter would change it into something stupid (just like Harold and George in “Captain Underpants”). The townfolks love it, the priest doesn’t.
- Issac can do an anime girl voice, and sometimes he’d put on a “girl’s” wig, wear feminine clothes and go outside to prank people.
- Alastair has social anxiety, but whenever he was with Lucius he was calm.
- Also, when Lucius was a baby, Issac babysat him a few times, but Lucius doesn’t remember this.
- Since we all know that Gary Freeman was involved with C H I L D P O R N O G R A P H Y, I have this pretty sad headcanon (warning: abuse):
Dave, one of the Freeman boys, found out about his father’s child pornography business, and Gary caught him. Gary made him star in some child porn movies, even tho Dave didn’t want to. Gary threatened him that if he’d try to escape or tell anybody, he’d hurt the other two Freeman boys.
After Gary was caught, Dave volunteered to testify against his father, but neither his mom nor siblings knew about that until the trail itself.
After he found out Lucius was the one who got Gary arrested, the two became good friends.
After both Lucius and Dave testified at court, they went with Derek Morgan (who was there to support Dave since they are best friends) to eat at the dinner.
Dave’s siblings joined them later, comforting their brother and thanking Lucius for the help. Dave was a bit surprised since he testified against their own father but glad that they understood.
Samantha was the last one to join them, announcing that Gary Freeman was found guilty.
Lucius was the one to pay for the food since he came from a rich family.
- Nobody can beat Samantha in Rap battles.
- Gabriel adopted Issac
Dating Dave Freeman would include…

Q or Scrooge?
So the weatherman at one of my local news stations does this thing every Christmas Eve: as part of his usual weather forecast, he does an extra segment called the TRIPLE TURBO SUPER SANTA SEEKER DOPPLER RADAR.
Everyone has great fun with it (not least the weatherman himself).
But it's very over-the-top: Santa's sleigh often zips back and forth between continents like a crazed pinball on acid, and the weatherman does a very, very manic commentary (his usual style being energetic, but not aggressively hammy).
And that's the problem.
Kids know when they're being talked down to. And I wonder how many of them have watched one of his Christmas Eve performances and gone, "he's acting weird. He doesn't usually talk like that when he's doing the real weather. That's the way grownups talk to little kids who believe anything you tell them."
Maybe I'm giving kids - or myself as a kid - too much credit for cynicism here. But I do think six-year-old me would have had her suspicions...and I wonder if any kids watching tonight might have had their doubts about Santa's reality seeded by a very well-intentioned weatherman just trying to bring a little fun to the nightly news.
So, the game jam is complete. There was some really great stuff shown at the wrap-up event. I did a write-up of the development process on my game for those who may be curious. Included are snapshot web builds to let you try out the changes stage-by-stage. Check it out!
Hey. Team Yeveto here (Dave Freeman and Brian White). For our Play The Music game jam, we decided to go with Muscle Confusion by Yeveto. First thing I want to say is that Brian and I are friends who have meant to work with each other for several years, but haven't had a chance to for various work-related reasons. He recently quit his job to move to Austin, but has one last month in Baltimore. I'm so happy to have a chance to work with him before he goes.
So, Brian White and I brainstormed a little, and came up with some concepts, then painted some thumbnails of them when we got home to communicate better with the musicians and to help solidify some of what we were saying in our first meeting.
The first concept we had are the pictures you can see above with the simple shapes and maze. You'd go through an abstract maze trying to get past obstacles that change size/move/change state based on an instrument they are tied to in the song. We realized later that this was pretty darn close to Sound Shapes, and felt silly for regurgitating an influential game like that.
The next concept is one we're going forward with. It's the stuff with the dragons you see above. We call it "Dragon-Bird" as a silly codename for now. You play as a bird flying from a dragon. The plan is to use the aggressive and calm parts of the song in the flow of action in the game. For instance, the bird would fly below the tree canopy to try to escape and experience a time of wary calm. We also have an idea involving either cyclical time or a flock of birds. This idea will be a lot harder to finish in time than the maze game because it's so narrative-focused, but we're going forward with it anyway.
A little animation update for Japanese Police Riders being made for the Robot Dice game jam.
