recently discovered primehood as a ship and I'm simply so sat

the concept of these two guys, given a mantle that was beautiful and hope inspiring and gave them so much meaning, then getting ousted from their own narrative, only to claw their way back and fight for the right to belong in this new world, different from the one that made them feel safe before

the idea that they'd understand that all the things others hate about them is a side effect of that othering they experience

the way CK's fight to come back is what gave Jason his own chance back, theyre literally kindred spirits and I just think it's neat

when it comes to their relationship im undecided, because i love superbat to bits and thats my main ship, but i feel like clark would still have had a crush on her at some point in their friendship

also jon ? i could always have them be married and then get divorced, but clark and lois as best friends call to me, but also jon ? to be decided

but i really like how their designs came out !!

I like to think that teen titans era robin was in a broody, i-have-to-be-a-serious-leader kind of space, but the team helped him to relax and be his own hero, and batman would be SO grateful to them for it

Starfire's fashion taste especially would influence the discowing era

bruce's story is a well known tragedy ; he begs his parents to have one night together where they do something fun, and it ends in disaster. The Waynes were loving people, kind and doting, but between Thomas' hours as a doctor, and Martha's philanthropy, volunteering, and real estate work, the two were often busy. Bruce never felt neglected, not really, but one friday evening he demanded they spent a real evening together.

Thomas, ever the cinephile, suggested they go to the theatre, and unfortunately, the story plays out as it always does from there.

the waynes exit the theatre, a mugger demands their money, panics and shoots, bruce survives.

following the incident, alfred becomes his legal guardian and pulls bruce out of school to shield him from all the gossiping and watching.

while at home, bruce develops an obsession with the incident, and begins to turn himself into someone who would have been able to protect that younger version of him in that moment - someone smarter, bigger, stronger, more intimidating - and he came up with the idea of batman when he was 17

he knew of superheros by this point, id think, and though he knew that they all had powers, unlike him, gotham had no heroes, and he was determined to find away

he convinced alfred to help him create the batman. He studied engineering, programming, all manner of hand to hand combat. he met up with family friends and other mentors he could get his hands on, and learned how to wield weapons and control his body

shortly after he turned 22, he decided that he was ready, and batman could make his first appearance.

year 1 (or more like phase one) batman is very much like the batman from the matt reeves movie, in my head.

bruce wayne hasnt been seen for years, with some speculating that maybe he died too

the batman persona, and therefore bruce in genera, is very 'i am vengance', more focused on fighting violent crime on the streets and causing fear, rather than restorative justice or improving gotham itself, and he hasnt started any major philanthropic action

not sure if i like thomas and martha secretly being not great people - its fun to challenge bruce's perception of them but idk

thinking about how i feel about latino jason todd headcanons personally, i am black, but im also not american, and i live in a majority black country, but one who's population is shaped by a colonial history (#caribbean wooo !) so my perspective is like - i cant say ive outright experienced racism, but its definitely something i have gone out of my way to understand, and something i at least experience indirectly obviously i see the very real possibility that jason, as a son of a drug addict and criminal, growing up in a bad neighborhood, and going on to be angry and violent, doesnt look amazing as the choice for a latino hc. it can 100% play into negative stereotypes on the other hand, i personally see jason as a kid who had a rough home situation, but was ultimately loved deeply by his mother, was deeply intelligent and loved to read, and was kind and optimistic

i also think of him as an important perspective on crime - a lot of crime can be prevented by removing social inequality, which is very often as a result of race, and i see jason being very empathetic because of it, and being able to give bruce (and the audience) necessary insight on the nuances of what drives people to crime.

His anger as an adult is, i feel, very clearly not related to his race, and if i were to write him, id make it clear that it wasnt a trait he had pre-death, as well as have him cool down after a time He's also my favourite robin and as a poc, i like the idea of using his race to motivate a punk worldview (because im projecting) also ! i saw a post pointing out that jason being white also is a bit...potentially very subtly racist ? in that there's a bad neighborhood, and the one kid who's able to leave is a white kid - personally i see the vision here but im not 100% sure basically, i have mixed feelings. I think im going to continue with this hc for him, because i think it can be done right, but i also know its an imperfect idea if anyone has any advice regarding how you'd go about writing him , please lmk !

question ! does anyone have any opinions/advice on portraying post-the killing joke barbara gordon in relation to her disability ? ive always thought she was a full-time wheelchair user, but in one of the comics i was reading, she seems to be an ambulatory user and switches between the chair, a cane, and not using any aids at all ive also heard of her just not needed it in some runs but thats not really an option for me so just curious if anyone has any insight !
