CUSTOMIZING GONE WRONG: NO-NECK BRAINIAC. Not satisfied with the assortment of Brainiac figures produced by DC Universe Classics and DC Direct, I decided that if I wanted a Brainiac done right, I’d have to do it myself. So I took the body of a Movie Masters Kryptonian Battle Armor General Zod (Who’s HR Geiger-inspired look I felt was better suited to a creepy character like Brainy. As far as Zod, goes, I’m a big fan of the DCD “Last Son” figure. It’s my Zod of choice for ACBA as well as displays. But I digress) and transplanted the head of a DCD “New Krypton” Brainiac, then add a little bit of paint and some garnishments AND........this happened. Turns out the DCD head is way too big for the MM body, thus leaving the “Terror Of The Cosmos” without a neck. I’m guessing the Brainiac head from the DCUC 2-pack with Superman might be a better fit, but I don’t currently own that figure and I really hate to see that damn-near perfect head sculpt go to waste.
