No one ever told me how hard healing is. Especially when you’re almost there. Most of my bloodwork came back good. My thyroid levels are where they need to be, there’s nothing out of the ordinary to suggest there’s something wrong with me.
And yet I cannot shake the feeling that there is. Like when you’ve forgotten a school assignment so you’re goofing off with free time but in the back of your mind theres an anxiety because you know you’ve forgotten something.
By all accounts I’m a healthy individual with a well managed autoimmune disease. Why then do I feel like I’m deteriorating from the inside out? Why are my very bones crying out that something is wrong? I don’t understand.

SYNOPSIS
Kosmos was once a great empire, split into three when power and greed forced men to rip the lands apart. Now three mighty kingdoms stand in its place, and remnants of the curses of the ancient empire still linger up to this day.
Once the heir to a powerful bloodline, Nyx Asteria wants nothing to do with curses and ancient empires. All she wants is to remove the seal burning on her back that forces her magic to feed on her own veins and carry on quietly as the handmaiden to the Duke’s Daughter.
Until she meets someone she only ever heard of in whispers. The Captain of the Shadow, whose crew pillaged even the most armed ships, the safest ports, that even other pirates fear him. No one steals what the Shadow plans to steal. No one takes what the Shadow plans to take.
And if the Captain happens to want to kill the witch who can't do magic?
Then, there's nothing left to do but to kill him first. Even if he never dies.

NOTES FROM THE AUTHOR'S DESK
I sincerely just wanted a witch/pirate romance and then my brain said 'why don't u write it'
and then the idea just ran away and i got into too much worldbuilding... and too much politics... and too much side stories
this is why all my character names are butchered myths and I'd apologize but I'm not really sorry... I'm still debating whether to change it or not
hence even if i wasn't taking it seriously i was able to finish the first draft
TIP: NEVER TAKE YOUR DRAFTS SERIOUSLY hahaha not sure how effective it is to others but i'm swearing by this now
which is why it's filled with plotholes, stereotypes, and cliches, which is what I'm trying to fix with this revision

I was rewatching Dead Man Walking yesterday and realized the first time there really is something missing between the above two scenes. Did Jack die or what? Why? How? WHY? I was hoping for the deleted scenes, but nothing. Does anyone know what happened?
And I realized my pc can’t play blu-rays, so I had to take crappy screenshots from dailymotion. Ugh....

Gabe sighs as he tries to stay calm and look over the wound. He wasn’t going to let anything happen to Genji, they were going to get through this, all of them, one way, or another. Luckily for Genji, most of his body was robotic, however, what parts were not, were pretty important, still…
“Tsk. For once can I have some fun? Geez…” Still, he will give it to the kid for trying to act tough and calm. “Take it, easy kid. We are getting you out of here.“
Genji was as still as he could be, just simply breathing and biting his tongue to hold back a hiss of pain when there was any kind of pressure near. Genji was used to this kind of thing, his body always a constant ache of his nerves on fire, but he was normally more careful. Quick enough to deflect a bullet if need be. He cursed a slew of curses in Japanese, mainly mad at himself.
When Gabe spoke, the only bit of emotion on the Cyborg’s face was a deadpan expression, eyebrows slightly raised. “.... I’ll think about it.” He let out a soft sigh, squeezing his eyes shut for a few moments before he spoke. “Thank you, Commander.”
