I drew this in a bad mental state and that's why it's good. It's made with a sadness and pent up rage that only drawing could satisfy.
I'm obsessed with death loops. The ultimate whump for me is when whumpet can do literally anything to whumpee including killing them and it dosnt matter because they come back to life.
Thinking about YKMET: Strade again, because the rabbit hole has gotten worse.
Just thinking of this scenario where Whumpee (Or MC) dies very quickly right off the bat. Oh no, poor Whumpee. We’d just restart the game right?
So let’s imagine a Whumpee that suddenly opens their eyes again after having just died. They’re back in the bar, the first moment they meet Whumper again. Was none of it real? Did they drink that much already to have such vivid daydreams. Why would they imagine all of that from this seemingly sweet stranger?
Attempt two. They end up back in Whumepr’s grasp. Everything feels too familiar, exactly how they ‘imagined’ it before. They survive a little longer. Trying their best to say the right things. But they still die.
Attempt three. Okay, this isn’t some fucked up nightmare anymore. For some reason, they were stuck in a loop starting from this point and they would keep having to play through with the scenario until they didn’t die. Why them? They didn’t know. Whumper didn’t seem to have the same knowledge they did. They were the only ones aware of the loop.
They’d try a few times to escape the bar when Whumper wasn’t looking, before they could catch them. But Whumper would still find them somehow. Like they were always meant to find them. They couldn’t escape them. They’d always end up back in the basement, tied to the chair, and having to play through similar scenarios endlessly until they chose the right choices. Even if they were choices they hated, that disgusted them, that made them wish they could just die and never wake up again.
They’d try to explain to Whumper what was happening to them. Only to be met with blank stares or amusement. Of course they wouldn’t believe them. It sounded insane. They were all alone in this.
If I was the Whumpee, it would take me at least 20 tries before I could not die in that basement on the first day 😭 scared shitless and fighting for my life.
