Book of the Week No.25 Deception Point by Dan Brown Rate: 10/10 Favorite Line: "There's just no substitute for the truth." Review: Dan Brown's Deception Point is his third novel first published in 2001 by Simon & Schuster. Under the genre of conspiracy and techno-thriller, this book explores the implications of history-changing scientific discovery of NASA that could be used as machination for politics. Deception Point is one of those page-turners that would really capture your attention in a much steady pace. I was able to have myself occupied of all the things happening in the book, as such that if I would get to stop reading for a while I need a quick refreshment of the the previous pages to keep me holding to the tension the book is offering. For a thriller fiction, all elements of hooks are in here. The character's movements and traits have all the depths you need for a character development. The bits and pieces of facts presented were seemed all well-researched. I don't know if Brown has background on politics but he somehow executed those political schemes and discussions successfully. I mean on all of Brown's work he really executes, just like what I have read in a Dan Brown fan page—"Like always, Dan Brown delivers." But there is something in this novel that I was really captivated. He somehow utilizes facts to make a conspiracy. I mean all those fact-checking for that alleged meteorite is all spot on. It brought the mysterious essence of plot that will make you turn the pages for more. The way the characters are well-delineated, not the casual; "This is Rachel Sexton, the daughter of a Senator." It was all applied not obviously. Dan Brown really knows how to play with the literary devices and figures of speech. Even the words like 'sagacity', 'countenance', 'sham', 'tumult' and among others. OMG, I would like to thank Dan Brown for widening by vocabulary. That said, this is indeed my main favorite of all Brown's works. #fiction #books #novel #danbrown #deceptionpoint #technothriller #mystery #scifi #technology #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #booknerd #bookaddict #bookphotography #goodreads https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf0IFBNpVsm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
