Décima Víctima - Signo De La Cruz
From Tan Lejos (Single, 1982)
Décima Víctima
my favorite post punk band of all time, take notes.
a lot of good shit comes out of spain
Made a design based on one of my favourite Spanish post-punk bands, Décima Víctima.
A-T-2 327 Halloween '82: Etherial Goth
Quintessential etherial goth putting the lust into bloodlust. I have a boxset of Spanish post-punk and new wave bands and goth was big in Spain. I wonder if it's the lace? Décima Víctima translates as Tenth Victim (the name of a 1965 cult film by Elio Petri. Petri died in 1982 and when that happens there's a bump in interest into that persons works) the title of this track is The Voice That Haunts Me
Décima Víctima - La Voz Que Me Persigue
Bauhaus - The Three Shadows Part 1 from the album The Sky's Gone Out
Siouxsie & The Banshees - Obsession II - extra track on the 12" single of Slowdive. In the 70s and 80s you would see bell ringing on television all the time. Anyway, this is the instrumental version of Obsession from the album A Kiss In The Dreamhouse
Soma (not to be confused with Glasgow's Soma Records, although both taking their names from Aldous Huxley) this Soma was from New York, this is the b side to their only single White Robes which is also really good
Soma - What It Really Means To Give Your Life
This isn't goth but Crispy Ambulance have a lot of connections. They're from Manchester and supported and were supported by Joy Division in the mid to late 70s. The final track form Crispy Ambulance's debut album The Plateau Phase on Factory Benelux, Factory's Belgian offshoot
Crispy Ambulance - Simon’s Ghost
Seventh Séance - The Incision (Version) - notice the 'Version' coming from reggae via punk. Seventh Séance were from London, England. The Incision was their debut EP and they go all in with the church organ on the version, this is like background music. Remember in the 2000s the marketing line 'soundtrack to my life' that dull people would repeat when referring to some song or other? well this is the 'soundtrack to my afterlife'
The Danse Society are from Barnsley, England. This is from their self released debut album Seduction. "More reverb" is the goth rock version of "more cowbell" but not on the drums, never on the drums. Lydia Lunch has a similar track Dance of the Dead Children (well the piano part) on her 1982 album 13:13 (almost quarter past one)
The Danse Society - In Heaven (Everything Is Fine)
