sitting here thinking about the tumblr april fools joke from 5 years ago that was the funny little lizard election
and how each of the lizards had their own little personality and even blog for themselves. there was a little video too, with a fake news anchor introducing them and the silly affair all serious like (which you can still probably watch here if the embedding doesnt work https://va.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_o4vjovEBWh1vppeo3.mp4 )
and then Mop won and the rest of the lizards were furious
Nothing Tumblr ever does will ever be as funny as the lizard election of 2016
The only thing that could make me return here is Decision 2024. Mop has been in charge for too long.
The last election taught me one single, solitary lesson: “Foresight is ESSENTIAL when casting a general-election vote.” I mean, don’t get me wrong; I don’t regret voting for Gary Johnson. Though, I did so based upon the circumstances at the time.
remember how much time and effort tumblr put into this april fools joke, even running blogs as these four characters (i think? the only one i saw was wretched tooth)
Can't believe it was a year ago. Those last 36 hours were an absolute whirlwind. We flew to 6 different cities and I still remember every minute. #Decision2016 #OneYearLater (at Richmond, Virginia)
Inauguration Day 2017
As a capstone to our Decision 2016 coverage, the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th president of the United States signaled the end of our election coverage. Inside we dedicated the A section to coverage of the event, including his entire inauguration speech, a photo page and other storytelling devices designed by AME/Design Adam Rogers and the entire production team.
