1. what’s the fic youre most proud of?

boring answer but probably whipstitch! I haven't written anything I'm terribly proud of since that one ^^;

11. Has a fic you’ve written ever caused issues/controversy?

haha I don't know about controversy but whipstitch got its share of angry anons and off hesperus is (so far as I know) the only time ppl have felt compelled to not-so-vague post complaining about how a fic of mine (....that they hadn't read) was terrible and OOC. which i mostly find kind of funny tbh

I write only when I am inspired. So sometimes there are weeks when I will be writing, and sometimes I am completely cut off from it. There is only 2 times I've had to force myself to write (and found the rhythm later on!) but I think it might be one of the middle chapters of Beyond the Veil. I struggled with Draco, I remember.

My co-writers - @thedreamermusing @thecat-isblogging-blog , @shes-a-gryffindor ever reliable beta (king!)- @urupotter , ideators - @bluethepineapple @dragonlordette @phantomeo and there is of course - you ❤️ one of my favourite people I discovered via fanfic. There are many, many more I would name here - but I have been incredibly blessed to meet wonderful minds in the fandom.

18. Do you only write when you’re inspired, or do you try and sit down at specific times and write no matter what?

Gotta be inspired. Sometimes I'll write random nonsense just because I feel like writing something, but to work on specific wips I gotta be inspired to work on them or I just won't like anything that I make. I can't force it if it's not fun to work on.

3. what fic are you emotionally attached to?

Sonnet #29. My first fic and the only non request I’ve done. (All the others I’ve written are either requests or partial prompts from users or ppl who wish to remain anonymous/uncredited.) It was and is my baby lol. 😊

9. what's your writing process like?

Dysfunctional. I’m an adult with a full-time company director job, but my writing is best at 3am, wired on Coke Zero, ignoring a big work deadline lol. I wish I could be disciplined enough to write when’s convenient to my schedule, but it never works that way and if I try to force it I end up deleting whatever I wrote during that time and redoing it. So I’ve given up with that approach. My writing muse is frequently a stubborn uncooperative asshole lol.

8. does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? if not, would you tell anyone?

sort of! 99% of the people around me look at "giant nerd who grew up in a socially isolating place but was very online and very passionate about fan things + notoriously prolific writer who doesn't share their writing with family/friends v much" and miss the very obvious ✨FANFIC✨ conclusion. to the extent that there's a long-running joke about it. but it's come up with a couple of my friends very briefly so ??

10. how has writing positively impacted your mental health or overall mood?

oh man. I've been writing consistently since I was 7 so this is. hard to answer XD off the top of my head, it's given me space to process and work through things, it's given me whole worlds to explore and create when I desperately needed an escape, it's led me to very dear friends...I could go on

19. If you could write an ideal fic, what would it include?

Hmmmmm great question. I would like to write a long multi-chapter slow burn fic with lots of pining leading to the most explosive well-earned smut (of course, this is me lol). I don't know if I have the skills or patience yet to do it. Maybe one day!

17. What’s the best engagement/interaction/feedback you’ve received from someone who’s read your work? Any type of comment is a good one to me. I love the quote back comments. Because I love watching people enjoy what I’ve written. Especially if you go back and say “hey I really liked this bit and that bit” of if I was super in character (one of my favourite compliments is when I’ve nailed a character, that’s such an honour).

20. What’s the greatest gift you’ve gotten from your writing? Any feedback I get is a gift tbh. Or even just likes. I treasure all my readers.

9. What’s your writing process like? Squirrel. Basically: Get idea. Write idea all in a single go. Edit. Post. Or: Get idea, write in snippets, edit. Post I rarely have a WIP sitting for longer than a few weeks. If I do, I declare it a ‘dead’ idea and don’t pursue it. I don’t enjoy outlines, and I don’t have the best time structuring out. I’ll often get an idea, hastily put it in my phone, then expand upon it.

16. Do you re-read old fics? Is there a time in your writing you won’t go back to? Sometimes I do, for what exists of them online. I hope to never return to ‘the incident’. That is a time I never want to return to, ever.
