Mitsuki Vs Deepa
Germafrost is a very, VERY good boy! 🐕
Happy Tihar to all who celebrate it!
I drew these Kara reaction pictures some months back. THEY DONT HAVE SILLY EXPRESSIONS IN THE SHOW SO I MADE SOME MYSELF
Okay, I’d like to talk to you guys about the situation with Deepa, one of my many OCs.
Deepa started out as a yak girl in Unikitty: Big Bright World. Her name was originally going to be Azura Yakachum, but I changed it to Deepa later on. She was Nepali-coded in my head; I wanted to match her name and coded ethnicity up with where yaks live in real life (South and East Asia). However, in later drafts of the series, I decided to scrap her. The reason for this was that I didn’t do my research well, and I thought that I would offend South Asian people by making her an animal.
After I scrapped Deepa from Unikitty: Big Bright World, I wanted to put her in my Minecraft: Story Mode fanfic WIP, The Next Chapters, instead. In that series, she was going to be a human person. I planned to seek out someone Nepali to help me with her. But, I recently started to regret cutting her from Big Bright World, because I felt like I was excluding her.
Big Bright World is a Unikitty fanfiction series I’m writing that uses made-up places with made-up traditions (like the Unikingdom and Ice Cream Land) to reflect how different people from different places interact. In Unikitty, the characters are Lego animals and humanoids made of geometric shapes; there are no Lego minifigures or humans anywhere.
Minecraft: Story Mode, as its name suggests, is an adventure game set in the open world of Minecraft. All of the places in it are made up as well. But unlike Unikitty, all of the characters are actual humans, with many characters of color in the game.
I want there to be a place for Deepa in my stories, but I’m torn as to what I should include her in:
Unikitty: Big Bright World, in which she’s a yak living in Ice Cream Land. She is a supporting character who appears often in the series. She is a close friend to Prince Germafrost and his younger brother, Neapolitan. She is one of the first people that Unikitty and her friends meet when they go to Ice Cream Land during the events of Broken & Frozen. She’s imaginative, sweet and energetic, and she’s always thinking ahead. She lives with her parents.
A Minecraft: Story Mode fanfic in the works, in which she’s a human living in Beacontown. She hangs out with Ramona, Jezabat, Lena, Tristan and Tano. Together, they’re a group that head out on a journey to stop masses of sculk from spreading across all of the worlds, while also searching for Soren. She’s charming, peppy, adventurous, and merciful. She loves art, reading and writing. She has two pet dogs.
If you’re Nepali, I would appreciate it if you tell me how you feel about this.
And here’s the comic! Young Charan and his hunting teacher Deepa, lil tiger kid at sundawn. Notably, quite strong.
