This also includes the SAVE Act which aims to make it illegal for most married women and many trans people to vote as part of a scheme to fix elections.

The Senate has passed a $740 billion defense spending bill, which includes an amendment that would require military bases bearing the names of Confederate generals and soldiers to be renamed within the next three years, including such installations as Fort Benning, Fort Gordon, and Fort Bragg.

‘We know who these bases were named for. We know why they were named,’ Sen. Elizabeth Warren said on the Senate floor in late June. She authored the amendment that would also force the Pentagon to remove monuments to and paraphernalia of the Confederacy. ‘There is nothing left to study. We are long past the time for action.’

‘I don’t care what the military says. I’m supposed to make the decision,’ President Trump told Fox News this weekend. On June 30, Trump tweeted that he would veto the Defense Authorization Bill if Warren’s amendment was included. The bill passed the Senate today with a veto-proof majority in a 86-14 vote.
