tbh i... kind of hate the ‘stark and greyjoy’ line... it is a gross oversimplification like everything else on the show. but it gave me endgame feels about the iron islands. like there needs to be changes there. they can’t keep with the reaving and raping. they need to become a 5th century nation. the war for the dawn will bring many changes, including the possibility for new growth and rebuilding. Theon is not a Stark, but he was raised by Starks, he absorbed their values. This could be important going forward. he advised Yara to agree to stop the reaving and raping. he enforced this later when Yara’s men wanted to return to it. Asha, in the books, has already started to see the ‘soft greenlanders’ specifically Alysane Mormont as people and friends, which will impact how she rules when and if she takes the Seastone Chair. When she reunites with a brother who now knows what he stands for (and it isn’t the rape or enslavement of innocents), she will be more inclined to listen. Bottom line, maybe being a Stark as well as a Greyjoy might end up being a good thing, a necessary thing, a transformative thing not just for Theon and Asha but for the Iron Islands as a whole.
