Ch215, Modri as an s2 parallel or similar
If Modri's memories are modified, or if he's been brainwashed, then it could be like how Claude made Jim/Alois believe that Sebastian was the one who burned down his village and killed his little brother (when it was really Hannah). Perhaps Modri has been given false memories to believe Sebastian is the same demon he'd had some past encounter with.
It's also possible he's been led to believe that he and Sebastian had a past encounter, but that he doesn't even know Sebastian is an actual demon. He could be using the word figuratively, not literally, like he's just name-calling. And our earl and Sebastian are taking it literally, since they have no reason to think otherwise.
Back to the literal use of "demon", it just occurred to me that there's one reaper we know of who would have access to the cinematic records of former demon contractors: Othello. But since Othello doesn't seem to be a double agent (that we can tell, so far), I don't see how Undertaker would get such snippets/episodes from Othello or the forensic lab. Does Undertaker have his own access to the cinematic records of at least one person who has had an encounter with a demon, or would these memories have to be completely fabricated? 🤔
We also don't know if the infusion he's getting is blood, saline, medicine he needs... or drugs that force him to behave this way.
And then there's the "smoking room". I'll post about that soon....
Okay, here me out—originally I thought that the colour of a demon’s eyes determined the colour of their contract marking, but Sebastian disproved that so I’ve tried again—the colour of the Faustian mark is determined by the equality of the contract.
Aka., Sebaciel is purple because it’s relatively equal, because purple is a blend between red and blue which are their eye colours; Clauois is yellow because Claude was always in control (his eyes are yellow), and the same goes for Hanois.
Real!Ciel isn’t “real”?
I see everyone talking about real!Ciel as if he’s the real (REAL) brother and I don’t quite agree...
I mean, yes, it’s (most likely) the body of our!Ciel’s brother and yes, maybe our!Ciel isn’t the “real” Ciel, maybe his brother was the one called Ciel. But what I’m getting at is that I don’t think our!ciel’s brother’s soul is in that body. I think it’s Vincent’s.
Remember how Undertaker poured something into real!ciel’s mouth? I think that was Vincent’s soul, since UT cried for Him, not his Sons.
Another thing (this may be completely wrong though) see how SHOCKED Sebastian is in ch.129. I think (and this is just a theory) that Sebastian knows of our!Ciel’s brother and that he was “paid” with real!Ciel’s soul. I don’t mean “paid” as in a meal, I mean it as payment to summon a demon. So the soul of real!Ciel would have paid for calling Sebastian to that ritual and then whoever he might have chosen to serve would have paid with his soul too, this time as a meal, when the contract was finished. If the brother paid with his soul to summon him it would make sense why he is so very shocked, since those probably “Can Not” come back to life. (And why our!Ciel would be “my-whole-world-is-falling-apart-shocked”, of course it’s perfectly understandable for him to be that shocked anyway, but I’m just saying maybe it’s something “more” to it.)
Besides, I get a very strong Vincent-vibe from this “brother”, and of what we have seen so far I don’t believe that the twin would be So MUCH like his dad, close maybe, but not THIS much.
But of course I don’t Know anything, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Ch215 (p3); It's all in the past
Sebastian seems quite sure this isn't the return of a previous contractor, but our earl doesn't seem convinced, since the guy knows Sebastian as a demon.
Besides, Sebastian ate their souls -- our earl puts it as devouring them -- and they aren't expecting to run into bizarre dolls as advanced as real Ciel... yet.
Surely, Sebastian could have made plenty of human enemies with grudges against him, but someone cutting themself to get his attention isn't enough for him to narrow it down. 😅
Sebastian seems to think they can pay this man off to get him to go away, but I don't think that will work.
Anyway, this smoking room will give them a good opportunity to learn what they can about this Modri guy, as well as info about the staff there, but they need to watch out for traps that could await them there.
Oh, and referring back to part two, the name Hoffman refers to a steward or property manager.
That's the end of ch215. For now, at least. It's about 1:30am here, so I need to sleep. I might have more insights tomorrow but not at the moment.
I once read somewhere that the more visible the faustian mark on the human the stronger the contractual bond. But did I just fever dream this or is this true, because Claude’s is on Alois’ tongue and while I feel it would be unreasonable to bandage that bugger up I also feel as though people can see it every time he talks or sticks out his tongue, showing the contract emblem/symbol, which could be seen as them having a strong bond (but not as strong as Sebastian and Ciel’s, whose mark is in his eye, which is why he wears an eye patch, as to hide it from the public eye until necessary) but more in a more discreet manner.
so this series is like 4 or 5 humans who've entered demon contracts to last 7 years of services for their payment
and the contracts are like decent moral contracts too. the contract will KNOW if its been broken. the humans are guaranteed no harm, physical or mental, from coming to them
so far we got girl number 2 with a sea kraken man and he accidentally harmed her by quickly taking her deep deep underwater and then bringing her right back to the surface with no acclimation time
the contract wasnt broken because she so constantly expects to be harmed it messes with how the contract views her being harmed since shes so used to being harmed she expects it
and im wondering when or if we will get a human that has their man or someone else trying to tell them that they are loved and they are worthwhile and the humans brain just kinda starts..... attacking itself bc.... it tries to double down so that it doesnt have to acknowledge the fact that if they were always worthy, then the people who have harmed them in the past have NO EXCUSE.
and thats hard to accept and deal with. and im just WAITING for the contract to snap from someone trying to give the human some fucking sense of self worth and the demon who made the contracts comes storming in like WTF DID YOU DO MATE?!?!? and the guys have to be all I JUST TOLD HER TO LOVE HERSELF?!?!?!
So I’ve been thinking and I think the demon contract book idea I have for my paranormal series is going to be one of my darker novel(la)s in the paranormal series. I already have a somewhat concrete idea on what I want to do with it but first I need to do research on Asian demons to see if it will work or at least which type of demon it will work better with.
