Reminders for dissociation. These are great. I'm adding these to my toolbox. ❤ #Repost @mentalhealthsquares ・・・ These days I'm posting a lot on dissociation. It's because I have been dissociating since my childhood traumatic event. I was spaced out and really just focusing on studying most of the time ignoring my emotions. I am learning to be present so this fog has lifted a lot. Still, depersonalization and derealization comes when I am upset or angry these days. It's like I shut down. Recently, I changed my medication dosage and I started to dissociate hard. Everything around me looked bizarre and pointy. My body didn't feel like mine and I was floating around. I'm currently on a therapy break, so I didn't have any references. I researched a lot about dissociation and found some coping thoughts when dissociation hits. I've been sharing on Instagram and I've found that many people wanted the topic of dissociation to be shared, and they were glad when I did. So I want to share more about trauma and dissociative disorders. I'm sharing one of them today, which are reminders for when you dissociate. i’ve been doing better lately

the only advice i can offer is to distract yourself, and not just sit and wallow in it.

stop focusing on the fact that you don’t feel alive, and just live.

the more you put yourself out there the more alive you begin to feel
