I was tagged by @queerlyalex and @sleepy-skittles to do this thing!

Rules: Use five minutes, and only five minutes, to write a drabble. No re-reading, no editing. Tag ten followers afterward. 

SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG. Today was a busy day. But this idea has been bouncing around my head all day and I’m in a McHaleinski mood so HAVE SOME IMPERFECT CUDDLING. Limb negotiation is the hardest part, after all.

Sleeping with Scott and Stiles isn’t nearly as glamorous or romantic as Derek thought it would be. They’ve been dating, all of them, together, for only a couple of weeks and their pace is... glacial. But it’s what they agreed. So no sex. But sleeping? After a late night date and all of them tired from Beacon Hills’ latest crisis? Derek has a California king in his loft, so it’s easy to offer. And even fun once the kissing and cuddling starts.

But... then they actually try to sleep. And none of them can figure out who wants to sleep where. Scott and Stiles fight over being the middle spoon and fight over who gets to sleep next to Derek and it’s a mess, really. Eventually Derek ends the argument and slots between them. But then Stiles can’t figure out how to be the “littlest spoon” and still cuddle properly. And Scott accidentally headbutts him in the jaw.

The fact that they get any sleep at all is a miracle. And still, Derek wakes up not to the early morning sunbeams streaming through the window, but because he’s actually sore and more than half of his limbs are dead asleep.

“Y’re s’pretty,” Stiles slurs in his sleep. His face is mashed just above Derek’s armpit and... yes. Yes, Derek is being drooled on. Stiles’ lower body is flung out over him, wrapped around his leg and an arm tangled up under him.

Scott isn’t much better. He’s somehow migrated across Derek in the night. And his arm is wedged under Derek’s neck, which is making things uncomfortable. “Sh’tup, St’les,” Scott mumbles, just as asleep as their boyfriend is.

This, Derek expects, is his life now.

Up until recently, that had been Scott's cue to leave the apartment, hole up in the library with his biology homework. Now... well, the three of them were a unit, but Derek still wasn't completely comfortable with Stiles and Scott doing any more than kissing without him there.

It wasn't unreasonable. But right now, Scott was tense, needed a break, needed to stay in his Pack's little satellite territory, and he had to wonder exactly where that line was.
