HOW TO AVOID BEING REPOSTED ON DERPIBOORU & AN ALT PLATFORM YOU CAN USE ∷ ☆

A post detailing on how to avoid having your artwork uploaded to Derpibooru, as well as providing an alternative platform you can use.

Under Keep Reading is an explanation of Derpibooru followed by steps, and an explanation for Manebooru.

First off, if you don't know what Derpibooru is, it is an image booru based around archiving art of the My Little Pony series (mostly G4- Friendship is Magic). Art is uploaded to the website and tagged, with tags including the artist, the characters, content of the image, etc. Uploads also have a section for linking back to a source for the image. Users can comment on uploads, and there are forums for many topics of discussion.

While Derpibooru is a great way to archive art, it is also known for having a community filled with right-wing users that are not afraid to publicly display bigotry. Its moderation is very much open to criticism, as they allow depictions of Nazism, racism, and other forms of bigotry through art and text. Because of this, many artists refuse to have their art uploaded to the website (which is completely understandable).

However, the only way to make sure your art is not uploaded to the site besides putting "No reposting" text and signatures is by adding yourself to Derpibooru's "DNP (Do-Not-Post) List", which can be a confusing and stressful process. So, as an avid Derpibooru uploader I have decided to detail how to be added to this list.

Make a Derpibooru account. (If you already have an account, ignore this.) This is self explanatory. In order to be added, you must have an account on the site. Simply click "Register" on the top right.

Request an artist link. Make sure you are signed into your account, and go to the DNP page. Once there, look under "Manage My Listings" and click on the text labeled "Request an artist link." Simply fill out the information and wait to be validated. As said on the page, the process will go by quicker if you put the "LINKVALIDATION" code given to you on the account you are linking. (Putting it in your bio or pinned post both work.)

Adding yourself to the list. After being validated, go back to the DNP page, look under "Manage My Listings", and click on "Create an entry". Click "Yes" on the page it shows. This next part depends on what you specifically want. If you want NONE of your art uploaded to Derpibooru, select the second to last option. Then, fill out the information required.

Another image booru with a focus on My Little Pony artwork is Manebooru. It is very similar to Derpibooru with having the major difference of completely disallowing what they define is racist or bigoted content. The most useful system in this case is they have the option to mass import your art from Derpibooru to Manebooru, which is very useful if you dislike Derpibooru but want to keep your art archived. They also have a Discord Server where you can ask questions regarding their policies and how you can move your art over, verify your account, etc.

For transparency's sake I do not use or upload to Manebooru so I am unfamiliar with its systems and am equally unaware on the specifics on what it bans.
