“I wasn’t exactly invited, Mal,” Samaire pointed out. “I doubt they’ll allow me to tag along. . .no matter how badly I want to.” The last was muttered under her breath. It wasn’t that Samaire didn’t think Mal was capable of taking care of herself; she knew the little fae was more than capable. But she’d spent so much of her life feeling responsible for the younger girl, being told that it was her job to look after her. . . The idea of having the barrier and an ocean between them made her more anxious than she’d ever admit.
"Since when do we even care about the rules?!" So maybe her outburst was childish, but she'd grown up with Samaire as her shadow and despite Evie, Jay and Carlos, she couldn't imagine spending any time apart from the older girl, especially not indefinitely.
Sure, she had to succeed her mother's mission and all that, but Auradon was filled with all the heroes and princesses their parents had failed to destroy in their prime. Could she really be blamed for having doubts and not wanting to be parted from each other in such dangerous territory?
