Why do they look like that?

Ok, given that people started noticing I was like "ok sure why not". Very lengthy I must warn. Asking me about designs for my favorites awakens my inner Gale Dekarios I am sorry. Also possible spoilers.

Why does she look like Ren Hoek of all things?

At some point while I was messing with her design I kept thinking about that initial meeting you have with her and I kept thinking.

Ok, creepy monologue about dismemberment, long ears, red eyes, why does this ring a bell?

...

OH YEAH!

It reminded me of Ren's bizarre monologue. At that point I was like "Ok this might actually be crazy enough to work". I used parts of his design for inspo like his large red eyes and even parts of the ears and nose.

It was useful as a general "design skeleton" but there are more...

I want everyone to understand that Rouge’s boob size changing isn’t bad because oh no bat not sexy anymore (she still is), is bad because it looks really fucking ugly

Her normal outfit design is made so her chest plate forms a heart, and the bigger boob size HELPS to make that shape, since that’s her whole design motif and all. Without the extra boobs it doesn’t look like a heart anymore, it just looks deformed, making her design weaker as a result

And this wouldn’t been a problem if they just gave her a different outfit. Sonic prime she also had breast reduction (less than the one from current games but still) but it didn’t looked as horrid because she has a whole ass new outfit that DOESN’T depend on her having big boobs

It’s just basic character design guys, she just LOOKS better with bigger boobs

And that aside, the design change that I find the most baffling is covering her back…

Wings coming straight from nothing, going through the fabric of her clothes… You can’t tell me that looks remotely good. And you can’t tell me it’s because the uncovered back was “too sexy” because AMY HAS THE EXACT SAME THING ON HER DRESS

And her’s is not even a practical thing. Rouge has her back like that for her wings, Amy does for the love of the game yet they only see the need to change one. Like damn at least be consistent

Also Lanolin has, like, the exact same chest size as Rouge yet there’s not a problem there

I feel like the only change “needed” was covering the chest area (even if, again, it just looks worse, but if they wanted to make Rouge “less sexy” that’s all they needed to do)

Okay, time for an aggressively hot take:

Mega Dragonite is actually a perfect design; it’s just not “Mega”.

What do I mean by this? Simply put, the actual design of Mega Dragonite is amazing. Actually excellent. But it’s not “Mega” enough to be a Mega Evolution. It lacks that unnecessarily over the top nature of most other Mega designs(Mega Audino has the same problem). It does a great job calling back to Dragonair’s design elements and combining them with Dragonite, but it doesn’t do enough to really feel like it earns that “Mega” title. Maybe if they hadn’t shrunk down its original wings, it’d be a different story.

Realistically, it should have been a regional variant. Frame it as Kalosian Dragonite and just watch how perspective of it shifts.

I just found this concept art of the earliest version of Musa's Believix and I have to say: I wish they would've used this as her casual outfit in S4!

It would've been so much better than the abomination that they chose instead. This one actually fits Musa's personality and it looks gorgeous as well! Get rid of the wings obviously and you can still play around with the colours a little, and get rid of the heels as well, but even as is, I'd easily take this one a thousand times over. That top is so cute, I love the casual pants and the pigtails remain iconic! I can actually see S1-3 Musa wearing this! Someone in those early design stages still got her character apparently. Why didn't they use this, it would've been so good!

I'm just gonna pretend that this is what Musa looks like in S4.

Kinda wish male and female Turians looked identical. I don’t care if it’s lazy, if anything it would’ve been easier to pull off, since the only reason they were introduced so late is because of the reduced memory the games had, therefore having difficulty adding a whole new model. Now, I don’t hate the female turian design, I know some folks do, but I’m kinda indifferent to them, there’s things I like and dislike. Their faces can be pretty, but the lack of back-head-covering feels a tad odd to me, especially since the plates are meant to provide protection from solar radiation. They could’ve still had the crests, just smaller or flatter, no? There’s also a line of dialogue saying most can’t tell the difference between a male and female turian, which implies they’re near-identical, right?

I don’t know, it was just something I was thinking about because I’ve been thinking about Mass Effect again.

On Tubbo's skirt he has a pin from Tommy that Tommy stole frome Dream who stole it from Wilbur.

What I'm saying is that all of Tubbo's skirt accessories are in some way from Wilbur no matter who gave it to him. Besides the bee patches. Those are from Punz.
