i think you're all familiar with what i originally called "in control" but has now been renamed to "OVERCLOCKED"

a lot more development happened with it since i started fixing what i didn't like, but i haven't had time to work on it beyond this sheet since. you can see the improvement i hope cuz i certainly can. ignore the upper left corner there was just a huge bit of empty space and i had to fill it with something haha

Okay, I promised to show off the character design portfolio work I was doing! I took the chance to revamp a character that has been hanging around in my brain since high school (and as might be expected, her personality and story have changed quite a bit over the years) She doesn’t have wings at the beginning of the story, but I needed to design what they look like.

Máire O’Conner is unadoptable. She’s disobedient, she wanders off, and she insists on speaking her heathen Irish tongue. No one with brains would want her. Luckily, Lady Locket doesn’t have much brains, and is thrilled to adopt a troublesome orphan. Máire now finds herself living with Lady Locket’s 42 cats, her crotchety brother, and her weird son Branwell in an old manor house practically buried by forest. The house is full of weird noises, chatter from empty spaces, and strange symbols drawn on the walls. Even more intriguing is the forest outside. Something within is calling to Máire .

All my sketches for the Sky Series. You can see my development for all the characters, including a couple I didn't get to use (for time reasons mostly, I got very tired and overworked around this time. If I ever do more with this series, I'll include the designs that got missed during the first pass).

When designing characters, I always start with the head, and once I get it to a place I like, I design the rest of the body. I feel like everything you need to know about a character can be seen in their head and face.

I had so much fun playing with the different personalities and body types and poses. The pose thumbnails were probably the most fun; I did almost an entire page of them.
